Narran, sometimes if you are not an acquaintance of another HEE member and you just cold pm them about if they are selling their horse... some people find it a little invasive... if they were selling the horse.. it would probably be for sale or say they were accepting offers.
Sting, I think what Versa is saying, is that multiple people may have asked. That might be slightly frustrating to the person who owns the horse. I don't think it's anything specifically directed at you.
The amount of people over the years I've had ask to buy one of my colour horses even though I have it clearly stated they're not for sale unless otherwise stated. Can make it a bit annoying yes. Especially when they try to guilt trip you or get mad when you tell them no. I got to the point I just block anyone who asks or I ignore them completely. Depending upon how many times they bother me
Maybe say yoy want to sit by the creek and read or draw or meditate or even pray. Something that would appeal to him but wouldn't raise alarm bells for him to say no or to come and check on you?
I have to agree with Versa on this. It's hard when your consistently asked if you'd sell a valuable horse. I've learned to mark not for sale in the horses remarks
Versa, let me be clear, that i'd absolutely never spam someone, or send more than 1 message.
I have horses that arent in a sale barn, but that doesnt mean i wouldnt sell for the right price if someone really wanted them. But i suppose everyone is different.
Just understand that if it's a valuable horse, they may have been asked several times prior. I've, personally, come to the point where I just don't even respond... But others might get grumpy
I dont generally see any harm in asking if they would consider selling, and id be willing to pay a good price. IF they were interested only. I always write kind and nice messages.
Might want to check activity dates! This thread has had two open order slots for over 11 months and was inactive before someone dragged this thread back :)
