Hi all! Abstract here. I wanted to put a little project together to show everyone how quickly you can profit off of a gelding investment.
I just took over EP's account and the first thing I need to focus on (in order to afford the WB breed, lolz) is income! On HEE, income = showing! So, I've invested in 150 geldings and I'm going to share how I show and my journey to riches.
Please subscribe/bookmark this topic for updates!
** Please note I am doing this on a larger scale because I can afford to. I understand most stables who start out showing do not have this type of money to invest, but it can be done in smaller scale as well (25 stall barn/pasture + 25 geldings, 50 stall barn/pasture + 50 geldings, etc). You have to start somewhere! Edited at November 16, 2017 01:47 PM by Elite Perfection

Alright, so now that I'm set up with a pasture, geldings and riders, it is time to show!
I'm going through ALL horses - geldings, mares, stallions, whatever (excluding level 1, not going to bother with them right now) and entering them in whatever I think they have the best chance of placing in. Yes, I might take a loss but since I'm unfamiliar with the horses as far as showing goes, it helps me get an idea of where they are at in what event, which will help me moving forward. I am WAY too lazy to go through each horse's training and gauge from there if they are likely to place or not, sooo.. this way will have to do. ^_^ I will update with showing fees/winnings at the end of the night. :)

Shows did not go as well as I expected last night. I almost broke even. Like I said, this is the "discovery" period to find out where everyone's at in what event so I know when to show them moving forward. Based on the placing report:

Almost no one is "in the money". Everyone has another week or two of training to go and should be good. Tonight I will go back and re-enter those who placed green (8th+ or "in the money") and for those who didn't, enter them in a different event to find out where they're at. Usually if I entered in CC/J and they bombed, I'll try dressage and vice versa - since CC/J share two of three traits.

Love that you're doing this. I have a side that I'm trying to get going and this is very interesting to follow.

Yay! Hope it helps shed some light on the process and shows people that making lots of EBs does not happen overnight and takes patience and work! :)

Alright! Went through and entered those who placed in the money as well as a few in other events to see where they are at. We'll see if the results aren't a bit better tonight. :)
