The woman sort of gasped to him before giving a pout. "You've been doing it for years, you can't let me get bored now," she mused to him, then sort of pouted at him and pressed a light kiss to his jaw. "I'll come out with you in a bit," she mused gently to him. (Short, I'm on the run!)

(no worries lol) Sage had sort of groaned in response to her comment, shaking his head in amusement. "At some point, you're going to get bored with me," he chuckled before nodding in response to her peck and moving to crawl out of bed and get ready quickly before wandering out of the house and down to the barn, working on feeding and watering, and just checking in on all the animals down there.

Mari gave a little smile to him before shrugging. "Maybe, some day," she mused. She let out a huff when he got up, but soon enough got changed and padded outside to meet some of the foals when she was sure he'd be done with his chores. It was the first time in a while he'd been well enough to actually do anything with them, so she let him get on for a while before padding outside. "What you saying," she chirped to him when she finally got outside.

Sage had simply chuckled inr esponse to her comment, pecking her on the lips lightly as he moved to head down and out. Once he'd finished feeding and watering, he just sort of wandered around saying hi to all the animals, and working on some of the basics for the foals. Respecting boundaries, letting him put on a halter and use a lead rope, that sort of thing. He was gently scolding one of the colts for trying to chew on the lead line when Mari wandered over, and he glanced over at her with a grin. "Luther here is getting himself into trouble," he mused. He was glad to name a horse after his old friend....he just hadn't had one that went with the name. This one though...his coat was the same shade as the boy's hair, and he was built rather stocky, just like Luther had been. And, well....he wasn't the smartest animal around, which made Sage recall some fond memories.

Mari grinned at his little peck before moving to look at the little foal he was telling off. "You named him Luther?" She mused lightly before shaking her head a little. "How would Luther feel about this," she hummed as she went to say hello to the little foal. After a moment or two she gave a short smile to the boy, gently fussing the foal by scratching his withers and neck, which made his back drop and lip wiggle happily. It had been years since they'd lost Luther... it was such an odd thought. She hadn't known the man very well, but she was around when he'd died and she knew how much it had affected Sage.

Sage chuckled lightly when Mari mentioned that he'd named the colt Luther, and nodded with a shrug. "I've been waiting for the perfect one for a while," he admitted, moving to pat the foal, who was already taller than him even at a younger age and could definitely pull him around if he so chose to. Luckily, he was rather docile, alibet playful. "I figure he'd get a good laugh about it," he mused fondly, before sighing slightly. He did miss the boy, who had really been his only friend. Definitely his only male friend. He chuckled when the foal reacted to Maris scratches, humming lightly with a nod. "Definitely a Luther," he mused, reaching up to rub his knuckles over the colts muzzle gently.

Mari rolled her eyes at him a little before moving to peck his cheek. "I'm sure he'd appreciate it," she chuckled gently to him before moving to peck his lips playfully. "Anya too, actually. I wonder if the castle would want him," she hummed in thought. She sort of giggled at the foals antics before looking over at him with a small smile. "It's been so long now," she murmured gently. "I wonder if they'd be king and queen by now," she hummed tiredly.

Sage had laughed softly when she said he would probably appreciate it, and nodded softly. "I'm sure he'd get a good chuckle out of it," he mused before humming in thought. "that's true, he's stocky enough for the knights," he admitted. "Maybe I'll visit Anya and see what's up with that. As far as I know, she's not chosen a suitor yet, but her parents are old and have been sick for a while," he mused. "It would be nice to visit her and att and the doctor anyway," he noted lightly.

Mari nodded lightly in agreement. "You two used to be such a nuisance," she mused lightly. "He'd do a good job over there. Plus Att would love him," she mused happily to him. She watched him put the foal away before making a bit of a face at him. "I'd be getting nervous if I were her," she hummed softly. The king and queen had been quite sick, too... and they hadn't heard anything about it to date. She assumed something had to be happening. "We can go in a couple of days, but we actually have to go," she mused.

Sage chuckled in response to her comments and nodded, still gently stroking the horse, though it was absentmindedly happening. "All the cooks still shoo me out of the kitchen as fast as possible when I show up," he noted lightly. Though, at Maris next comment he sighed and nodded. "She'll need someone to help out," he mused. "I can't imagine her parents will last too much longer if they've not gotten better by now," he added, brows furrowing slightly. Though, he nodded when she said they'd visit soon. "That's fine," he mused. "I can bring this guy along and see if att likes him."
