Sage chuckled softly and nodded in response to the boys comment about chaos, shrugging. "I've had practice," he noted with amusement before grinning over at the boy when he mentioned his tease. "I dunno, I think tin head sums it up pretty well," he joked lightly, nedguing the boy lightly with his shoulder. "I think you're gonna stay right there," he snorted. "Not allowed to be taller than me," he huffed in a playful manner before nodding in response to his last comment with a soft hum. "I have some time today, so I figured I'd come check in, see how everything was going," he noted with a shrug. The king and queen had been holding on longer than everyone had been expecting, really....but he could still help.

The boy hummed in agreement, his shoulders shrugging a little bit. He supposed Sage had years of practice with hot headed youngsters by now. He pouted when the man bumped his shoudler, and let out a soft huff of air. "Well I think you're gonna have to deal with it. Give it a year or two and I'll be towering over you," he mused lightly. He was tall for his age anyway, and definitely a good growth spurt or two away from towering over Sage. He grinned when he said he was just checking in. "Well, the king perked up a little yesterday. Seemed happier. The queen isn't particulary well, mind," he hummed softly. It could easily go one of two ways. People often perked up a little right before they died... or he really could be getting better.

Sage chuckled softly in response to the boys comments before humming softly. "Well if it does happen I guess you'll just have to wait on me whenever I come down here. Take care of the old man." He was clearly just messing around, though he was slight serious about it too....but whatever. It was mostly just a joke. "it's common for the human body to hold on beyond what the rest of us expect," he mused. He'd was in the doctor's ward enough over the years to learn some things, and that was one of them. "everything will work out, one way or the other," he added with a sort of sigh. "how's Anya doing," he questioned after a moment. "Ill stop by and check in with her in a bit."

The boy hummed in thought before giving a small smile. "Only if when you fall you do the stupid old man huff," he laughed, a bit of a grin splitting his face. It was a bit weird. He often forgot he wasn't the only one getting older. The people around him were too. That was sort of a sad thought, though, so shrugged it off. He flashed the man a little smile at his comment. "I'm hoping that's true," he hummed softly. They weren't his grandparents, but they cared about him just as much as he cared for them. He glanced over at him when he asked about Anya, and sort of shrugged towards him.'"I'm not sure. I haven't much seen her," he murmured softly.

Sage couldn't help but chuckle at the boy's comment. "I do believe it's more of a grunt than a huff," he mused lightly before humming with a small nod. He'd never really connected with anyone at the castle besides Anya, and maybe a few guards. Well, and Luther, but the boy had been gone for a while. And the doctor was a little bit different. So he didn't care much whether the king and queen lived or died...he had never liked either of them much, but he did love att and anya, and he did feel a bit bad for the situation it was putting them in. "I'll make sure she's alright," he mused after a moment, looking over at the boy. "How have you been taking all this," he asked after a moment, cocking his head slightly. The boy didn't have a very family-based relationship with...any of them, but he knew he still cared for them, and that they cared for him. And it was never easy losing someone you cared about.

The boy shrugged, though gave a small nod of agreement to the man. "Grunt if you're the doctor," he mused lightly. He wandered along next to the older man for a little while, sort of shrugging when he mentioned the woman. "She'll probably need someone to talk to. I haven't seen her in a little while," he murmured gently, a soft chuckle escaping him. He cocked his head at his questioning and shrugged. "I'm not overly bothered. If anything happens I'd miss them, of course, but it won't make much of a difference to me," she shrugged again.

Sage chuckled when he mentioned the old man and nudged the boy playfully. "Well someone will have to take his place as the grumpy old man," he mused lightly. "I think I'd be rather good at it," he added with a chuckle. He nodded when he mentioned Anya could use someone to talk to, and patted the younger boy on the back. "In that case, I'll go bother her for a bit," he mused. "I'll come find you before I leave, yeah?" When the boy nodded cheerfully, he clapped him on the back again and then wandered off to go find Anya. He figured she'd be in her room, so that's where he went first, knocking and then poping his head in with a grin. "Killed anyone yet," he teased the girl lightly when he saw her, moving to wander into the room and settle down on a chair next to her.

Anya sort of looked over at the door after a moment, thought just furrowed her brows when she spotted the man coming through the doors. She knew he was trying to help her, and that she should be happy to see him, but just dreaded him trying to help her. "Well I was plotting in killing you, but that plot isn't quite in full effect yet," she muttered under her breath. She was just tired now. She'd been trying so hard to stop being so upset and angry about what was going on around her, but by now she really was just tired of it all.

Sage sort of sighed in response to her comment, figuring she was still doing....not so hot. "I'm afraid you'd have to get Mari to agree to that first," he noted with amusement before quieting down for a few moments. "How are you holding up in here," he asked gently after a moment. "Att says he hasn't really seen you for a while," he added. He really was worried....but he didn't see any alcohol bottles laying around or anything, which meant progress. It was certainly good to see.

The woman raised a brow at him before shaking her head, plopping a pen down and lifting her head off her hand. "I'm afraid consulting your wife about your murder won't go down well," she mused softly, sort of furrowing her brows after a moment. She sort of looked around at his question and shook her head. "Att has never been one to see me much," she mused softly. The child was never one to seek her out. In truth she didn't think he even liked her all that much. He'd always been difficult for her. "I'm doing just fine," she murmured softly.
