Florida couldn't help but let out a sigh of relief at his words. Her body relaxed a little and she looked down. She was excited to see her best friend moving around again. "you should take a break then" She offered, switching her gaze from Grace's face to Sage.

Sage shook his head with a sigh when she suggested he take a break. "If I sit down then my mind decides to act up," he noted, finishing his notes and setting the chart down. "If I can keep my body working my mind shuts up for a while. At least mostly," he added, moving to cross the room back towards the girl. It was slow still, and stuff, but at least he was doing something useful with his life.

She was honestly curious about what his interpretation of acting up was. "What do you mean your mind acts up?" She asked, tilting her head slightly as he moved towads her. Flo twisted a strand of her hair around her index finger and let her gaze linger on him as her question hung in the air

Sage hummed as if in thought before shaking his head with a slight chuckle. "Nothing you'd want to hear about," he noted quietly. In all honesty, talking with someone about his issues might be smart, but that was something that was hella terrifying. Plus the girl didn't need to hear everything going on in his mind. She had enough to worry about.

Florida shrugged and looked away before standing. "you'd be surprised" she muttered before exiting the room and wandering to the lobby, searching for something- anything- to read. She found a stack of old magazines and sat down, picking one up to look at the cover. Cars, Fashion, Gardens, Food, Horses. Flo stopped and stared at the horse on the picture and she seemed to zone out. She put the magazine away, her eyes going glassy. Why did something have to happen so badly? Why did a creature so majestic cause so much harm, so much pain to her broken and disfunctional excuse for a family? She grabbed the horse magazine again, flipping through the pages until she found the horse and rider she had forced herself to let go of. Before she could even comprehend what she was doing, she flipped to the back of the magazine and found the release date. "2018" she whispered under her breath.

Sage sort of just shrugged in response to her comment, moving down to the next room. It was his last patient, so when he came out and noticed her staring at the magazine, he paused, cocking his head slightly as he watched her. He had to admit, he was slightly worried....she really did seem very upset. So, he moved to limp over down the hallway and closer to her. "Are you alright," he asked quietly, placing a hand on her shoulder lightly, giving it a gentle squeeze. She obviously wasn't....but if she wanted to talk, he'd listen. And if she didn't....well, he'd still be here for her.

At his question she put the magazine down, nodding a little and dabbing at her eyelashes. She didnt try to escape his touch like she would under normal circumstances. She just kinda... sat there. His presence was comforting though she didn't really want to be comforted. Flo glanced at the magazine again and her lip trembles, but she forced her eyes to focus on something else. "Yeah... I'm fine..." she lied

Sage sort of sighed when she said she was fine, nodding after a moment. He wouldn't press her. So, he simply moved to sit down next to her so their shoulders were touching lightly, hoping she wouldn't get mad about it at all. He wouldn't press her for information....he'd respect her. But that didn't mean he could clearly see she wasn't fine, and he wanted to help. He just....didn't know how. Heck, he couldn't even help himself. Sure, he could patch people's bodies back together, but minds were a whole different thing.

Flo swallowed when he seemed to let the topic slide. She watched Sage move, not noticing he was trying to sit down until his body took over the space beside her. Her eyes caught a glimpse of the magazine again and she took a breath. "Does it help when you tell people things?" She asked, lifting her eyes to Sage's. "Does it make life easier?" She shifted in the seat, bringing her knees to her chest and turning toward him a little.

Sage turned to look at the girl when she spoke up, sighing and looking down at the floor as he thought about how to respond. "I don't know," he admitted. "I've never had anyone I could talk to," he added softly, shaking his head slightly before looking back at the girl with furrowed brows. "It's supposed to help. But you don't have to talk unless you really want to," he added. He didn't want her to feel like he was pressuring her with anything or like he was trying to get to know all her drama. He just....didn't want her upset.
