Florida just nodded, looking down at Sage. "You'll be alright if I leave you so I can go say goodbye to Grace..?" she looked back at the door then sighed, turning her gaze back to Sage. "you look worn out. Do I need to walk you to a room?" she asked softly

Sage nodded softly and patted her shoulder gently. "yeah," he murmured. "I'll be fine...you go say bye to your friend," he added, releasing her after a moment and struggling to his feet with a groan. He shook his head in response to her question, offering her a small smile. "No, it's all right. I'll take some pain meds and just...pass out somewhere," he noted. "ive been shot at before, I'll manage fine," he reassured her before moving down the hallway slowly.

"Okay" she stood, her arms slightly extended in case he needed help. "i'll just... be in here" She slowly turned and walked into Grace's room. The girl's skin was already turning green which reminded Florida of the time Grace hadn't washed her hair after going swimming in her chlorine pool. Flo shook her head at the memory as she gazed down at Grace. Memories was all she had left of her best friend now. Tears pricked at the corners of her eyes but she wiped them away. She was too broken to cry. "Remember" Flo's voice cracked, the emotion pouring through her words. "I'll never forget you and I will always love you." she hugged Grace one last time, ignoring the cold feeling of her skin, then covered her with the bed sheet.

Sage nodded tiredly and waved the girl off. He did appreciate the concern...but she didn't have to worry about him. She was hurting too, and she should be able to mourn without worrying about him. He made it to the nearest room with a bed in a few moments, staggered in, and passed out the moment he hit the bed. He didn't even bother pulling a blanket up or getting on the pillow....he sort of just sprawled on top of the sheets and passed out.

Flo sat outside Grace's room, her head between her knees. The tears finally broke loose and were streaming down her face. She sniffled and whimpered, her head resting in her hands, her palms sweats and soaked with tears. She trembled as her pain and suffering poured out with the salty water that was on the tip of her nose, some balancing on her eyelashes before they fell to the ground. She wearily pulled herself up to sit straight, taking deep breaths in order to calm herself down

Sage passed out for a while, though he did eventually force himself to awake. He wanted to make sure everything was settled and alright. Namely, he wanted to make sure Florida was ok. He could hear her sniffling, so he got out of bed with a groan and padded over to her, sliding down next to her with a sigh. "it's always hard losing someone you love," he murmured after a moment, eyes getting a far away look. He'd experienced it....and you could probably tell from his tone....but this wasn't about him. This was about Florida. "You alright," he asked, adding onto his last comments.

Florida wiped her tears when Sage came to her side. "Yeah... i'm fine" she said. She stared straight ahead, her brain still processing what happened. She slumped down in the seat "I lied. I'm not alright" she folded her arms over her legs and bent over to rest her forehead on her forearm. She sat like that for a while, fiddling with the hem of her shirt

Sage sort of just nodded in response to her comments, heasitating before moving to wrap an arm around her shoulders and gently squeeze her into a hug. "it's alright," he murmured after a moment, letting out a heavy breath. "grief is natural. Let it happen," he murmured gently. It sucked, sure, but....that was just how life worked sometimes. And they all had to deal with it.

Flo heaved a sigh, leaning slightly into the hug. She didn't know what think about it, but at the moment all she could focus on was the pale tint in Grace's face and the fact that she was gone. She had passed now. Florida sat up and looked over at Sage. He didn't seem as rattled as she was. "how many have you lost?" She asked quietly since she didn't exactly trust her voice at the moment

Sage relaxed slightly when the girl seemed to relax into his hug. He left his arm around her, since it seemed to help the girl out a bit. At her comment, he cocked his head at her and let out a sort of bitter chuckle. "Patients or family," he asked before shaking his head and sighing. "Too many," he murmured after a moment, not sure he wanted to go into the details of it all. He didn't know how he'd react. And right now wasn't about him. This was about Florida.
