{Keenan}

Keenan laughed when she said he deserved it, "Exactly my point." Grinning when she mentioned the mask, he said, "You know gold is one of my favourite colours."

He offered Freyja his arm, "Let me guide you," he said with an easy smile. "Don't stress too much. It's easier when you are able to explore as you go. Unfortunately circumstances have been less than ideal lately, I've dumped a lot of information on you. Take as long as you need, just don't let any one else see... then my father might actually murder me." He let out a nervous laugh. He almost felt as if he was living his life on borrowed time. He was just relying on Aleks keeping his mouth shut. He was nervous, he wanted to just tell people but the reactions so far other than Freyja, were less than positive. The fae seemed to have less hate for halflings, it made no sense why a vampire would be so freaked.

He entered the tailors workshop where several vampires were running around like lunatics. The head tailor stopped when he realised it was the prince. "Your highness," the man said bowing, "Your outfits are over here, ready to go. I apologise for the mess, less than a days notice for a masquerade ball and a huge influx of orders," the man said with a sigh.

{Aleks}

Aleks laughed, "Eco location? You guys really know nothing about my species do you," he said shaking his head, "It depends what you say makes you human. Emotions are different, less almost. Some vampires train themselves to feel so little at all. You don't feel things as deeply, afterall, you are practically dead. I had to die to be turned. You don't gain much really, immortality, increased strength and heightened senses, increased healing, oh and we can see in the dark, just as well as we can see right now. Some more powerful vampires are able to dabble in blood magic as well, but strength depends on parentage. The king was the most power vampire in generations and then Keenan surpassed him, unsurprising, considering who his mother is," he said with a shrug, it wasn't all that it was cracked up to be, "it comes with a very long list of weaknesses which are not fun and I don't think I'll ever get used to the whole bloodlust thing. It's tied to emotion, at least to begin with, if you don't feel things so deeply, it's less of a risk, some humans don't cope with the transformation because of that. You have to abandon human feelings to control it," Aleks let out a soft laugh, "the whole drinking blood thing to survive is weird though. Even I will admit that. That is probably the hardest adjustment, plus the murderous tendencies," he admit.

He pursed his lips trying to think of anything else he should add, "I can't enter places of worship without being explicitly invited, kinda an awkward thing to learn when you grew up in a family that regularly prays to the gods, that was a big adjustment. The gods are how humans cope with things they don't understand," he shrugged, "it's not all bad though. I would have just worked on the farm if I had remained human. I learnt how to read and write and how to wield a sword, hell I even learnt how to ride a horse properly. Now I get to dress up and attend balls. The bloodlust thing still freaks me out after 15 years. You are always thirsty, no matter how much you feed, craving violence and destruction," he shrugged, "most channel it into training, then you don't notice it so much... or so I have heard. Pure vampires wouldn't know any different though and they don't have many vampires that were once human."

Aleks rolled his eyes, "Just because you can do something, doesn't mean you should have to. It's far easier if you just let them do it for you." Although maybe he only enjoyed having the servants so much as he had grown up human, this was not the sort of life he was expecting to lead. He cracked Faustin a smile, "I forget you alive beings feel the cold and at least being a vampire made me far less clumsy."

His eyes widened when Faust said fae bit eachother to mark territory, "why are you lot so territorial, my goodness," he said shaking his head. He chuckled when Faustian said he found the vampire way strange, "It's a sign of trust. Your partner could drain you if they wanted. It has the added bonus of being very pleasurable. Don't hate on it until you try it," he said with a wink, "I think you'd find you rather enjoy it. I am sure your sister did."

Why did this male have to keep being right? He should talk to Freyja but if he was being honest, he was a little afraid of her, especially after the Cassian incident. It made no sense considering Faust was also fae and likely possessed magic in some capacity but he knew how to control it.

{FREYJA}
She smiled, taking his arm almost immediately after he offered it. "How could your father murder me for knowing the layout of my own home? I could always just tell him I'm with child. He wouldn't know that it's not yours until the baby was born with features that didn't belong to you." She grinned, elbowing his side gently. Of course, at the moment, it was impossible for her to be carrying anyone's child so she hoped the King wouldn't be threatening her until Keenan's scent had really settled on her so there'd be no doubt in the king's mind about it. And the way this male seemed obsessed with heirs, she doubted he'd try to off her until the so called child was born. That was the only issue. But Keenan had mentioned that the king's days were becoming numbered. The male was aging. And a very large part of the princess was very, very pleased with this news. "Did I tell you my dream last night? Craziest thing. I dreamed I had a little dark haired baby. Keenan, the dark hair was only passed to Faust and Daemon. My children will have higher chances of blonde hair than dark. It was the strangest thing, I swear! At least it had my eyes. Golden eyes are becoming rare, yet they're so stunning! We're lucky beings, highness. Blessed with beauties."
.
As they entered the tailors, Freyja immediately put on her trophy wife smile. The one where her face went nearly slack and her eyes filled with a dreamy wonder. She used to practice it for hours in front of the mirror. The princess nodded to the tailor, shooting him a smile she knew melted the insides of the males. She had no idea how the tailor would react to it. As she turned the corner she grinned at the mannequins wearing their outfits. They were perfect.
.
The male model wore a white poets shirt with vines and subtle flowers along the cuffs and collar. The trousers were basic in shape but deep green in shade, matching the open vest that had golden vines embroidered around the hem. How they did all of that in such a short time, she'd never know. Even the mask was impeccable. Golden and smooth, save for the branch pattern that started near the brow area and blossomed into flowers. On a stick as well, she wanted to play with his makeup a bit. What's the point of a pretty husband if you can't do his makeup every now and then. She looked to Keenan for his reaction, rather anxiously. The urge to put him in ancient fae gowns was so tempting, but she needed to warm him up to that point. She'd get him in one eventually.
.
The female model's gown was plain black silk. It draped down in a deep V. Freyja was blessed with a pear shaped body so her bosom was small and everything in that sense would be covered. But the back dropped to scandalous area and it was all tied in the back by two thin straps that tied behind the neck which would leave the bite on her neck on display if she so chose to do so. She loved the length, it would pool right at her feet without having too much of a worry about tripping. The most extravagant thing about the dress (other than the fact it was flaunting she was a female) was the small designs in silver around the hem. Since the dress was so long, someone would have to really be looking to notice it. Her mask was obsidian, Decorated with diamonds and dark gems, as Hades is also the God of wealth. Also on the stick. She liked the ease of removing hers so easily.
.
She glanced at her husband, "So, do you like them. I made sure the shirts Neckline would dip in case you wanted to loosen your strings to be a bit more appealing. If you'd like, of course. Are they alright?" She asked, a little bit frozen as she waited for his answer. It felt like a test.
.
{FAUST}
The male wrinkled his nose. "I mean, we were all told as children you were all bloodthirsty nasty monsters that only think for yourselves. Oh, and that you'd steal our candy and eat our toes. Lots of vicious bedtimes stories. They vary for the children and teenagers." He gave a shrug. It was no shock to him that most of the vampires had come close to feeling nothing. He wholeheartedly believed that one, he saw it. On the battlefields he'd fought many who's lights in their eyes were already gone before he either impaled or beheaded. Or burnt alive. Well, Dead. Burnt until they were dead to stay this time.
.
"Listen, I'm your buddy. I'm your pal. I'll pour you a drink and trip over unexpecteding nobles. But I really don't want to know about your species feeding rituals. I find it all a bit strange and you're talking to the male who put blood in his sister's wine goblet. Several times." Faust shuddered. Just the thought of feeding off of someone made him feel a certain way. Like hurling and running away at the same time. It sounded rather messy if you were to do it the normal way.
.
"As for servants, I'll be back and traveling soon. There really is no need for one while I'm never in one spot more than a few days." He gave a shrug. His face shifted and wrinkled as he mentioned territorial nonsense and his sister's liking of the Biting process. Faust audibly gagged. "First of all, that's my sister and you just explained how that's also used in private rooms behind curtains. Gross. Imagine she takes a vampire lover? Now the first thing that pops up in my mind is going to be 'at least she likes it like that'. Gross, disturbing, and disgusting." Faust gave a dramatic shudder for good measures. "Second, the territorial nonsense is rather attractive. You ever had someone you're already in love with threaten another person because they checked you out before? It's attractive, trust me. That's my cherry on top. It's also a way of saying you're not ashamed of who you're with. The marks carry scents and therefore you can identify who did what. So, you may think it's strange, but it's the one thing I find endearing anymore." He huffed, filling up his glass again.

{Keenan}

Keenan cracked a smile when she just said that she would tell the king that she was with child if it came down to it. "If you want him off your back, that would be the worst way possible to do it. He would believe you are a miracle worker and have convinced me to carry on the bloodline. He would probably watch you more to ensure that nothing happened to you." He shrugged, "I wouldn't let him get close enough to threaten you. I'd rather kill him myself. Besides, Keenan Kinslayer has a good ring to it," he said with a soft laugh. His smile warmed when she spoke about her dream, "Perhaps you have a dark haired mate? I do agree about the eyes, it is not a vampire trait, we tend to be more plain and human than that. I have my mother to thank for that. The king is not the prettiest male around."

Keenan was silent as he looked at the tailors creations. It seemed that both Freyja and the tailor were waiting for his approval. He reached out to touch the fabric of the shirt that was embroidered. It was truly exquisite. The tailor deserved a raise for the speed he and his team had managed to put it together. His gaze was critical as he moved to the mask his face betraying nothing as he examined the intricate design. He then examined Freyja's outfit, he could see where the theme came into play. She would take on the role he traditionally played, the big scary leader. He was more than happy to stand by her side as trophy husband at these things if it meant she came up with more designs like this.

After a few very long, silent minutes, he turned to face them both. "I think it is beautiful," he turned to face the tailor, "You and your team are very talented, add a seventy percent tip to our bill." The tailor's eyes widened and Keenan just waved him off. He turned to face Freyja, a huge grin plastered on his face, that regal controlled prince from two minutes ago gone.

"I know I have said it before, but I love it. You are genius!" He hugged her. "Honestly, I would never have thought of something so good," he shook his head in disbelief, "seriously, amazing.'

{Aleks}

Aleks shrugged, refilling his glass. This liquor had the most peculiar taste but he wasn't against it. "You weren't entirely wrong about the vampires being a selfish species. However, we also care about jewels. The toe eating thing is new though. I'm not sure I have ever met a vampire who has done that. We drink blood, we don't actually eat flesh."

Aleks actually laughed when Faustain said he was disgusted by the feeding rituals, "Look I never said it was pretty. Why do you think we always make and effort to drink out of glasses?" He raised an eyebrow when Faust said he switched out his sister's wine, "Oh that was you? I had assumed that it was a vampire. We could all smell it."

He frowned when Faust said he would be travelling again soon. It can't be particularly enjoyable moving around that much. He was already dreading their trip and they only had a few stops, it wasn't a permanent arrangment.

Aleks laughed, gross distrubing and disgusting. Now he would pay good money to see Faust with a vampire lover, more his reaction afterwards. "I promise it's most enjoyable. For a general, you are awfully freaked out by blood. As I said, don't hate it until you try it," he shrugged, "missing out if that puts you off vamps."

He raised an eyebrow when the prince said the territorial thing was attractive, "Look, I can see it. But, I don't get why you would willingly hurt yourself or a partner. Like doesn't being bitten hurt? Your fangs are far shorter than mine so I guess it wouldn't be as deep, but still," he shudder, at least blood sharing was painless. He had been with the crown prince, so most other males would not dare flirt with him, nor any of the females, Keenan had a reputation the preceded him. Now however, Aleks was free to flirt as much as he wanted. He pursed his lips as he thought about it some more, "I guess it is kinda romantic, like a big declaration of your commitment to each other, especially as you will have the marks too. A big show of trust too."

{Freyja}
She waited for his reaction, practically frozen as she stared at him analyzing the fabric. She wasn't sure if she or the tailor were breathing at this point. After all. She'd ordered it and the tailor had brought it to life, just as she'd imagined it. For both of their outfits. He was emotional as he scanned it all. Freyja just waited, fiddling with her hands and about to open her mouth to say something when he finally smiled and congratulated the team for their work. Her jaw nearly dropped at his command for the tip.
.
She gave a breathy laugh and hugged him back. "Keenan, next time say something before I die of anxiety! Did you really have to wait so long before giving your approval?" The princess laughed it off, but as she released herself from the hug she felt a huge weight fall off of her chest. So she'd passed the first test. She couldn't help the beaming then, she practically radiated after that moment. "Come along then husband, we've only a few short hours before the ball and I need to pick flowers for your hair. Would you like to accompany me to the gardens?" She asked, already heading to the tailors desk so she could look into the clear case.
.
She scanned the jewelry pieces and pointed to the strand of onyx beads on chain so thin it looked like there was nothing there. Freyja nodded, "I'd like that sent up with the costumes to my room in an hour, please. You'll be further tipped." She said, looking back at Keenan. "I'll cover that tip."
.
She motioned for him to follow with the same dreamy smile she'd worn into the tailors moments before. Possibly just high on the bliss of the fact she'd done exceptional with the costume designs. Well, she was known in Sylvia for her outrageous masquerade costumes. It was only fitting that the title followed her to her new home. Home. Such a funny word for a place full of people who'd killed her own. Crazy.
.
{Faust}
He grinned, "How was I supposed to know that you only drank blood and didn't eat flesh? I was ten and refused to wear socks, shoes, and shirts. It was a good day when they could get me to wear trousers." He said, filling up the glass of water to hydrate himself. Fully functioning even under the influence. Not a good combination at all. Faust shook his head at the next question. "No, if a blood sucker ever did that to my baby sister, I'd personally end their life. Only I am allowed to play such nasty tricks on her." He said, scrunching his nose up.
.
Faust took a seat, squishing his face in disgust as Aleks mentioned it being enjoyable coming from a vampire and then questioning his abilities as general. "Listen here, I can fight perfectly well in battles but drinking blood is on a whole new level. That's the only way blood freaks me out. If it's being put down my throat." Faust shook his head. "Aleks, I don't think I'll be taking one as a lover any time soon." He didn't plan on taking a lover of any sort for a long time. Afterall, wasn't it just yesterday he was making wedding plans? He couldn't just forget those things that have happened just because he found himself in a new ecosystem. "I'd like to keep my neck intact, thank you," was all he said about that.
.
His frown quickly turned to a sly grin as Aleks admitted to what Faust had previously said. "My dear friend, it depends on how deep you are in the moment. Our fangs are a lot shorter, but they can still do their own damage anyways. But it doesn't hurt too awful bad. Most of the time you're too caught up to realize it's even happened. " He gave a shrug. Not once did he remember it being more than a slight stinging for awhile. And that was later on. The real pain was in the healing. Fae are quick healers but the itching made him want to scratch off the scab several times.
.
Faustian gave a small nod, "Yeah. Declarations of love are another thing we specialize in. My father gave my mother a whole city when they married, even though it was convenience. I was preparing a manor for my mate. My cousin gave his mate a library to himself." Faust gave a little shrug. "We had better get some suits ready for this evening. " He said with a little awkward laugh. He was a bit put out now. Most likely he'd be taking a nap before the ball.

{Keenan}

Freyja seemed surprised by his generosity with the tip. He wasn't a complete monster and besides, the poor tailors had worked themselves to the bone to have it done in time. He turned and said softly, "they took a hit during the war. Some were conscripted and far less nobles were buying finery, myself included. Tailors are not great at fighting. The tip was the least I could do."

He laughed, she seemed far more relieved once he spoke, "It was deliberate," he shrugged, "I have to keep everyone on their toes. Besides, I like the drama," he grinned, "Also I waited the perfect amount of time. Any less and it would be insincere, besides I was actually taking it all in. It is very intricate. I am seriously impressed. How do you come up with these ideas?"

He followed her out into the gardens. They were picking flowers for his hair. His father may have a fit over this, he was hoping that the masquerade would offer him some anonymity but that was a foolish wish. He was recognisable regardless of what he was wearing. If his father did complain, he would just tell him that his wife designed it. It was the truth and at the end of the day, spending time with his female wife was exactly what his father wanted.

He grinned as they stepped into the garden. It never lost it's magic. Perhaps that was because what was used to establish it initially. He didn't care. It reminded him of his mother and it was the one memory of her his father had permitted him to keep around.

{Aleks}

Aleks grimaced, "Eating flesh is just gross though, even for me." He grinned when Faust mentioned that he was a handful at 10. He could see it now, a tiny Faust causing great distress to the castle nanny as she tried to get him to dress.

"You don't have to take lover to try it," he teased. Aleks shrugged, he did get that blood drinking was strange but he'd also like die if he didn't. He had major objections to it in the past and several vampireshad threaten to hold him down and force him to drink. He was stubborn so he wanted to keep the small shred of dignity he had left, so he drank. The texture was weird and it was worse once it was cold but the taste mostly remained the same. Apart from Keenan, he was sweeter almost? Probably something to do with being a halfling. Strange nonetheless.

Aleks raised an eyebrow, "so fae make huge declarations of love, hmm, maybe I need to start flirting with them over vampires," he laughed, "they won't want to drink my blood though. A shame really."

He sighed standing and brushing the wrinkles out of his suit. "I should go find something to wear tonight, thank you for listening though." In reality he was going to feed. He was starving, all the talk about feeding had set him off.

He turned to leave, giving Faust an awkward half bow before leaving. At the end of the day, the fae was still a prince and far out ranked him.

Aleks walked back towards hsis rooms, summoning a servant to fetch him some blood so he could feed as he looked through his closet. He decided on a suit and shoulder cape. The suit was a rather plain blue but shimmered in the light. The cape was more intricate, a deep blue with stars embroidered in a vibrant silver. He did not share his ex-lovers taste in fashion.

{Freyja}
She grinned as they entered the gardens. She really only had a problem with the over powering powder scent of roses, but she needed at least one for the look she planned for Keenan. She had brought scissors and upon arrival, sent a maid scrambling for a basket to place the blooms she chose. She immediately went towards the softer toned blue flowers. She had no idea what they were called but she snipped a few of the blue and whites of that very kind and placed it in the basket. The princess looked around and bit her lip. "We'll be adding a new section to the gardens near this area. You need some wildflowers to just grow randomly about the area." She said.
.
A wildflower field would make all of this so much easier on her. Seriously. All of the prettiest flowers she'd seen were I'm passing in random in lonely fields made for picnicking.
.
Other than the blue blooms, she selected very few pink, and then some purple. The final one was the rose. She snipped the stem and took off the thorns before placing it in the basket. "Not all will be in your hair. Some will fit in the branches of the trees. We could also find a way to attach them to the costume." She said, looking up with a small shrug. She'd gathered a mini collection. The princess was rather pleased with it too.
.
She smiled to the prince, holding up her basket like a trophy. A very colorful trophy. "So, what do you think? Any others we should snip and grab before we head back in?" Freyja asked, taking a look at the gardens once more. She really hadn't explored it much. She hadn't explored the castle much each either. Too much of her time was spent with the golden haired pretty boy for her to get much done. She tilted her head slightly, not that she minded. Keenan was much easier to talk to than a lot of people around here. And yet last week they were in the biggest argument she's ever had with anyone.
.
{Faust}
The male simply shook his head at the comrade, giving a small and breathy laugh. "You have some jokes, my lord. Very funny. No lover needed," Faust snorted, getting up to lift his trunk onto the bed. He'd rather not any of them come near him. Aleks being the one exception. He also had a drinking problem.... and not just of the blood sort. Aleks seemed to think a lot about the life liquid and who he'd sampled. Including his halfling prince. Halfling? So the golden eyed pretty boy did have some fae in him. Faust normally tried to stay away from listening in on thoughts but that one slipped through his normal cover of rain and instinctively he tensed up.
.
The male laughed it off, shaking his head. "Fae are strange beings. Make the suggestion. You never know." He said, seeing him to the door for his so called clothing options for the night. Faust shut the door and gave a shiver. No wonder the two had parted ways. If Cassian were alive he would just eat this information up. Like how the Vampire genes seemed to be dominant while the fae is recessive. He scoffed, ringing for a maid. "Hun, fetch me my brother. Tell him to buy some clothes along the way, the fox mask if he asks." The make said, tossing a few coins to the human before disappearing back into his bedroom for a good scrubbing.
~♤~
After Faust had finished scrubbing himself raw, he cleaned up once more and set his dirty clothes in a large bag, sending them off with a servant. Damned pompous vampires. Rubbing off on him. In reality, he really wouldn't have any time to get them done and he highly doubted he should leave tomorrow bare. He yanked on some clean trousers and waited for his brother who (of course) arrived fashionably late. As always. Never a dull moment. And he brought along his finery.
.
"I received your distress call. The tailors here are amazing. They said this was some old stuff so I had them add a few touches to them to make us pop a little," he grinned. By pop, he must have meant stick out like a sore thumb. Daemon was obviously going for the Lord of Fall. His was burnt orange and decorated with little golden details here and there. Faust's was interesting. The shirt was overall, white. But the color and cuffs were black, and like Daemon's, it had golden detailing on the cuffs and collar. Faust wrinkled his nose.
.
"I thought you were told the fox mask, Daemon. I'm pretty sure I wore that to your wedding," he said, rolling his eyes. This male was ridiculous.
.
Daemon grinned, "You're wearing the black one. I've noticed a little theme amongst us siblings. Freyja is taking on a feminine Hades approach and I lord of Fall.
.
Faust scoffed, "So what am I? The ghost of Christmas future?" He asked, taking the fine fabric in his hands. It felt light and breezy.
.
Daemon rolled his eyes, "No, you're the one that has to confuse them. Black mask. Come on. Now!"
.
Faust shot him a glare, but pulled out his hat box and snatched up the simple mask. At least the detailing was similar. Gold. He much preffered silver, but whatever. "I can't believe you coordinated sibling outfits. That's weird, Daemon. Very strange. You could have gone with Night or something. Not just power, you power hungry buffoon."
.
Daemon grinned, giving a shrug. "It's the one time I can use red and get away with it. Sister is lucky she got the dark red, mine are lighter and therefore like to clash with everything I own. Anyways, if that's all, I'll be off." After getting a nod from Faust, he snatched up his shirt and left. Faust stared at the shirt.
.
"I'm not buttoning it," he said to the empty room, wrinkling his nose at it. "Definitely not buttoning it."

Keenan followed her gaze, watching with fascination as she carefully selected flowers to go with the outfit. He feigned a gasp in mock horror when she suggest wildflowers, "You wish to ruin the perfection of my gardens. That is borderline traitorous," he said with a laugh.

He looked aroud more critically this time, "Perhaps we should have an area that is more natural then. Perhaps some wildflowers amongst a garden with a pond or something?" he suggested. They could expand the garden, especially if it made her happy. He would just make it happen.

He watched as she carefully selected a rose. He smiled, her control of her magic had increase even if she hadn't realised. A week ago he was worried she would destroy his gardens if she touched a bloom. The one she had touched during that time had not recovered. They had just been removed with the groundskeepers assuming some mystery disease had killed them and they were worried it would spread.

Her basket was very colourful. He was going to be very colourful. It was exactly what he had agreed to but still, it didn't exactly fit his scary vampire vibe. He was sure he could find a way to intimidate others and still look feminine. "It's very colourful," he said, "I don't think I have ever worn anything that bright. But there is a first time for everything and with you designing it, I am sure it will be brilliant."

He could not think of a time he'd worn anything other than dark colours. His wardrobe exclusively contained dark navy, black, dark purple and grey. He wasn't exactly adventuorous with his colour scheme. He did have the odd piece with red but that was because it was their colours. Black and red. Black for night and red for blood. He could see why many species thought they were evil, hell they dressed like it.

He offered Freyja his arm so they could head back inside. "I should feed before we start getting ready." Although he had fed earlier, with the amout of energy he had used, he was still feeling shaky. He couldn't afford to be at anything less than his best even if that meant constant feeding for the day. He stopped a servant on their way through, ordering a pitcher of blood to be sent to their rooms.

{Aleks}

He sipped at the blood provided as he prepared himself to get ready. The events of the day still had him reeling and Faust was acting strange when he left. Was there some big secret he was not aware of? It wouldn't be the first time. Halflings had to be born right? They weren't made like vampires. That meant Keenan had kept that secret for years. Hell, how was Montague coping? He'd known him longer. It was no surprise that Claude knew, she was Keenan's spy master. Freyja though. That still frustrated him. Faust said maybe it just slipped out but it was so closely guarded before now. Maybe she knew something already. Could fae sense it, smell it the same way he could smell a vampire? That would be risky for Kee if it was. Hell if the king found out that they all knew, they would all be executed. Aleks very much like his head where it was.

Getting ready for the ball by himself was strange. Usualy he had at least Keenan with him, if not the whole inner circle. He wasn't sure if it was a good or bad thing. Theor unit seemed more fractured lately, even without his and Keenan's relationship drama, Montague was acting strange and Claude seemed to be off with Freyja with a clear distaste for Keenan. Had something happened between them that he was unaware of? Probably.

He set his glass down, now empty. THe blood thing was an adjustment and the feeling that came after feeding still made him shudder. It was like he had satisfied something inside of him, something that craved violence. The bloodlust was still there but weak enough that he could just ignore it.

He set to work on his look, with the outfit decided, it was just makeup and hair to worry about. He followed Faust's suggestion and slicked his hair back with gel. Usually he would go for a vibrant eyeshadow but he was feeling something different. He decorated his eyelids with a light silver glitter before adding thick black wings of eyeliner. He finished off the look with glitter dusting his cheek bones.

{Montague}

Montague was still reeling from his argument with Keenan. His best friend had threatened to lock him in the dungeons and starve him for two weeks. Two weeks wouldn't kill him or drive him insane but it would be very unpleasant and it was something he wished to avoid. The worst thing was that he could tell from the look in his friend eyes that he meant it. Keenan would actually follow through with this threat.

To top it all off Keenan was a halfling. If the public found out, they would have him retried for Maksim's murder and kill him. They would see the male as a traitor. Montague wouldn't reveal his secret. They may not agree about the Freyja think but he didn't want his closest friend to die. Hell, if Aleks told anyone, he would kill him. Keenan wouldn't do it as despite their relationship ending, he would always care about Aleks. Montague did not have such a relationship and would do it without hesitation. Hell there wasn't much he wouldn't do for Keenan.

The whole halfling thing though... It was a lot to digest. If he was fae, that meant he could do magic. Hell he had spent a lot of time training with mages when they were younger. Mage magic was different than fae magic though. Mages used blood. Hell did Keenan know how to do both? If he did, that made him a hell of a lot more dangerous, not your average vampire prince. No wonder he survived Maksim's attempt on his life.

Originally, he was not going to attend the ball but Keenan wanted him to be nice to Freyja, so in this case he would attend. Unlike the others, he was not one for pagentry. He did not have a character design in mind when choosing his outfit for the evening. He just went for a simple black ensemble, paired with a black mask with feathers coming off the right corner. Even his makeup was simple, just a dark smokey eye.

{Freyja}
The Princess smiled and took the arm of her friend, although her eyes did linger on the gardens for awhile. "If there's no wildflowers here then I guess I'll have to have my own little getaway then, hmm? Or some might mysteriously appear and you'll never know how they got there, only that they're the most beautiful things you have ever seen in your long, cold, miserable life." She said with a firm nod. It's what she missed most about the summer home back in Sylvia. All the wildflowers in just fields upon fields. Each one had their own special memories she had made there. It would be nice to bring home some of those. Home. She looked up at the castle. Keenan's castle. Was that what this was?
.
With a few more words, she was looking in her basket and bit her lip. There was no way she'd be putting all of these in his hair. Definitely not the pink and purple ones now that she thought about it. Nevertheless, they can decorate her room. She'd been a bit too grabby with the Flora. For sure. She gave a little nervous laugh. "Well, Keenan. I just like to be prepared for such things. It's nice having someone to dress up instead of being the doll for once, you know? We can take turns, next time you can choose the outfits." She gave him a grin and a gentle nudge to the side. Freyja would only trust Keenan and Nani with this. Even though she cared deeply about her brothers, Faust hardly had a fashion sense beyond leathers and armor and Daemon would purposely dress her down to make him look better.
.
It was quite the struggled. Being related to one of the prettiest fae males seen since Eros himself. That thought honestly made her want to gag. Mr. Crown Prince Vampire was starting to rub off on her. At most, Daemon had to be just average. But saying that would be calling herself average. They could have been twins, save for their eyes and the obvious. Freyja had grown into being a female. Very different from their early family portraits.
.
The Princess nodded, "Yes, feed. Because if you get blood on that vest I might cry." She admitted, shaking her head with a laugh. "It's too pretty."
.
{Faust}
The male skipped the last two meals of the day and the one he ordered to the room, he only ate a few pieces. He had once again torn apart his room searching for a pair of black trousers. His hair had been combed neatly and then thrown into a halfway updo that immediately had the too short pieces falling out about his face. He couldn't help but think that it looked like ink. Eventually he took the whole ensemble to Freyja's room, not shocked to find the two newlyweds together. Aleks was write. Attached at the hip.
.
He gave a tight lipped smile to the both of them and help up the outfit to Freyja on near distress as he watched her place a basket of flowers on her little table. The twins couldn't be more different. Faust's room was Currently a disaster, things strewn across the area. Freyja just seemed so prestine compared to him and he knew darn well the only servant permitted to touch her things was Taeya. And he hadn't seen her in ages.
.
He tossed the clothes on the bed, much to the princess's dismay. She wrinkled her nose in response but oh well. He sighed, "I don't know what to do with this and Daemon is being a royal pain in the behind. Matching sibling outfits. You guys are matching through power. I'm wearing black to compensate." He said, giving an eyeroll. Of course Daemon would ruin the one type of party He enjoys.
.
Freyja wrinkled her nose further as she messed around and pulled out her cosmetics trunk. "He's an arse. Are you doing your makeup?" She asked, setting the box on the table next to the basket of flowers. Faust's only response was a shrug. She knew well he wouldn't He able to do it by himself.

{Keenan}

"I have quite enjoyed the perfection of the gardens in my long, cold miserable life," he said with a laugh, "besides, it only seems cold to you alive creatures." That was why it hurt so much to shift. He wasn't just shifting his physical features but going from almost dead... actually practically dead, maybe vampires were more like the undead... humans did have to die to become a vampire. Not the point. He was also transitioning from dead (undead?) to being very much alive and full of life. That's what caused the stupid emotional reactions, that and infernal hormones. He tried not to dwell on it too much but he was going to have to shift mmore regularly to just get it over with.

The scent of blood hit him first when he entered the room. It wasn't that it was overpowering per se, he was just starving. His fangs ached at the thought. The urge to bite something was high. He shoved it down. That was the bloodlust talking, not him and he was not a monster. He may not be able to control the shifting thing and his control over his magic was questionable at times but this was one thing he could do.

He grinned as she said she would cry if he ruined the vest with blood, "You can get a blood stain out you know. We haven't been around as a species this long without learning a thing or two," he let out a breathy laugh, "besides I am too careful for that to happen." He was grateful for that to be an excuse for extra feeding at this point.

He poured his first glass and tried to sip at it and avoid seeming too desperate. It was most difficult, although the ache in his fangs had subsided by the third glass. He was more relaxed as his strength gradually returned, he didn't realise how weak he had become. That was bad. He looked up at Freyja, "You should order something as we are skipping dinner." He didn't actually expect anyone to be dining in the hall tonight, they would all be too busy perfecting their outfits for the ball.

He couldn't hide the look of distain that fell across his face as Faustain walked in, he looked away from the male and focused on the glass in hand. As he finished it, he poured himself water in a different glass and sipped at that to make sure there was no risk of blood getting on the white costume.

He looked critically at the outfit Faustain had brought with him. It was interesting that Daemon had tried to dress Faustain down so he would stand out. Keenan looked at Faustain critically, sure the male was objectively pretty but he was pretty in a way all fae were. Confidence and dressing well helped as well. Daemon was far more attractive, his whole persona was alluring. Faustian was well... Faustian. Also there was the whole mind reading thing.

Keenan instinctively moved away from the male, just slightly. He was too close for comfort. Freyja said that fae trained to protect their thoughts but that meant his entire court was vulnerable. He watched Faustain suspiciously. Hell, he was now significantly more worried about Aleks. What if Faustain read his mind and found out that Kee was a halfling. Hell Faustain being here right now was a risk, he could find out. Then again, Keenan had been drunk around him and he hadn't even squeezed him for information then. Freyja did say he avoided doing it but Keenan was still slightly concerned.

Keenan was surprised to see Faustain asking his sister for fashion advice, however, after seeing the outfit she designed for him, he couldn't blame the male. He wondered if Freyja would help her brother with makeup. Keenan wasn't sure how much fae usually wore to these events. Makeup was a big part of self expression for vampires, not seen as either masculine nor feminine. It was exhausting to apply for some events but as a whole, Keenan enjoyed the artistry and it really did add a finishing touch.

{Freyja}
The Princess took note of how the males reacted to eachother. Within the first few moments she knew that he knew about Keenan's heritage. At least the gist of it anyways. She gave a toothy smile to her brother. The real question was did she have time to fix then all up? Freyja sighed and pulled him up a chair with a good distance from Keenan. Poor guy looked overly stressed. "I'll be swapping between the both of you so I'll expect you to play nice for the time being." She said, giving Faust a pointed look before raising her eyebrows at Keenan. "I'll need you both to pull your hair back."
.
She brought out the fancy little palletes and brushes as Faust took his hair down to flip it back up all the way. The male walked over and sat in the chair, giving Freyja a dirty look. "Some warning would have been nice." He grumbled as she took a wet cloth and scrubbed his face. Her one request she let her shield down for was that he'd be nice to Keenan, for real. Not to mention anything he may have heard in between passing others. When his shoulders sagged she knew he'd heard her. The princess plastered on a semi confident smile and began her careful work.
.
Not soon enough, she had completely Faust's look. He normally didn't wear makeup so she made a mask of vines and swirls across his eyes in black khol. The slightest dusting of gold power was placed on his eyelids. The princess smiled, admiring her handy work before she made a face. "You have both been rather quiet and it's rather unsettling." She huffed, moving over to Kee with her assortment of brushes, powders, and creams.
.
{Faust}
He had gone months without reading the thoughts of anyone. He didn't like the thought of his being heard so he didn't listen. But ever since he'd let those few words slip through his shields he had started listening again. A human maid that just ran by Freyja door? Pregnant. And not with another humans child. And this blood sucker on the side was panicking that he knew his secret. My goodness, if he handed over Keenan right now it wouldn't be advantageous for anyone in the realm. Freyja wasn't with child and had no real ranking yet. Not to mention the King. He wouldn't put anything past that male. But did the Crown prince have to be so.... loud about his worries?
.
Even Freyja was starting to sense an issue. She confronted their silence after she finished smearing the gel around his face in the intricate design. The prince stood and went to check himself in the mirror. As usual. Perfect. Bloody sister.
.
"The prince worries too much. And you shouldn't have told him about me, then I wouldn't have this humongous headache. And maybe you should have waited for your lover, oh, wait. I'm sorry, I mean ex-lover. Either way, you should have waited until no more fae were around to stake a claim on you," he rolled his eyes, letting his hair down to frame his face before he turned back, hands on hips. "You've put the Crown couple in danger, highness. Right now, her only power is linked to you and she could be killed for it as well. Isn't that just splendid? And now we all have to go and party like nothing has ever happened."
.
Freyja shot him a look but he didn't really care. She was already prepping the brushes. "Faust, i can handle myself. Stop stressing out my husband."
.
Faust wrinkled his nose at the word husband. Nearly gagged really. "That's only in writing, little sister."
.
She smiled, "It's good enough for court. It should be enough for you. Usually never really cared about the titles of husband and wife. We were raised to use them as a loose term. We are married by law, therefore we've been given the title." She shrugged. "I can't call him much else."
.
Faust snorted, sitting himself on the bed and looking at the two as she went to work. The male shook his head. "Rion always said you were the oddball sibling." Instead of replying to her brother she snorted, explaining to Keenan that Rion was the oddball.
