Florid swallowed and stared out the window at the darkness. She rolled over and watched the wall before finally falling asleep. When the morning came, Florida pulled the thin blanket to her chin and sighed quietly. She didn't know if Sage was asleep yet and she didn't want to wake him up if he wasn't. She glanced over her shoulder at him on the floor then turned away again, lost in her own thoughts

Sage hadn't gone to sleep for a while, only falling asleep around four or five in the morning. By then, he was just so tired his body finally shut down, so he was out cold. He didn't move when Florida woke up, and he probably normally would have, but he didn't move this time around. He did need the rest though, so maybe it was a good thing.

Florida looked down at him once more before getting up out of the bed and finsing the cafeteria. She rummaged through the storage area in search or something edible. Everything seemed to need preparing so she settled for a waffle and found the toaster, putting the waffle in and waiting

Sage didn't move when she got up, as he was still deep asleep. He woke up in May e half an hour or so though, and when he noticed Florida wasn't still asleep he forced himself to up and awake, following the soft noises he could hear coming from the kitchen, wandering in, still groggy. "Morning," he muttered, nose twitching when he smelled whatever she was making. "Whatcha making?"

Florida pulled the waffles from the toaster and yawned. "Good morning" she replied, looking down at her food. "It's waffles. Do you want some? I need something to do anyway" She started pulling the waffles from the bag and putting it in the toaster. The act of cooking made her thoughts disperse for the time being

Sage shrugged in response to her comment, sitting down on a chair with a sigh and resting his head on his hands. "Sure," he noted, voice still slightly groggy but always took him a while to wake up. That was just how things worked.

(Sorry I have been really busy this week. It's Homecoming!) - Florida watched the toaster but still jumped when the waffles popped up. She pulled them out, waving her hand around after she dropped it on the plate. "hot hot hot" she said, giving Sage a plate of two waffles. "I couldn't find any syrup" she turned and grabbed her waffles from the toaster, sitting down beside him and waiting for the food to cool down

(no worries! Hope you have/had a good time!) Sage half jumped at the toaster too, chuckling slightly at himself before waving away her concern over the syrup not being found. "I'll live without some syrup, I think," he mused in a somewhat teasing manner. He was still tired, but was coming around. Food would probably help.

(The dance is on Saturday) - Florida rolled her eyes, his teasing bringing a little more life into her zombie brain. She leaned back in the chair and glanced at him for a second before looking back at her food. "Thanks... for yesterday. I know you couldn't save her, but thanks for... for staying with me. it helped" she looked at him again after she finished speaking, taking a big bite of her waffles

(well have fun!) Sage sort of wrapped his fingers around the cup of...whatever warm liquid was in it and nodded in response to her comment. "I did what I could," he murmured. "I'll have to bury everyone today," he added with a sigh, sort of just hunching over the cup he was holding and staring blankly into the liquid. It would be a lot of work, especially sicne his shoulder still hurt like hell. "That's how this place works," he mused with a sigh. "You do what you can, and you save the few who can be saved. Then you fill out the paperwork of all the others you've lost that day at the end of your shift," he said quietly.
