"A couple days ago. Y'know my dad, he put me right to work around here but I guess I wasn't pulling enough weight." She joked, smiling at him

He chuckled, "Yea you know the old man, he's put me to work many times over the years. Speaking of which, can you show me which bunkhouse to put my stuff into?" He looked around the ranch, watching the hands ride in from the pastures.

"Sure." She chirped, gesturing down the porch and leading him to his bunkhouse

He followed next to her, a small grin plastered to his face. "How long will you be home for?"

"I don't know. Could be a week, could be a couple years." She said, shrugging and opening his bunk's door. "This is yours. I spent basically all of yesterday getting it ready" Edited at February 2, 2025 01:46 PM by Blue Diamond

Stepping into the bunkhouse, he moved to stand next to Cadence. It was a small, but open plan spot. He sat his bags down on the couch and looked over at her, he wondered when she had gotten so tall. "Cool, thanks for showing me in. I'm assuming I can get to work, unless your old man has something he needs me to do?"

Cadence shook her head. "He's gonna be back around 9 tonight. I'll let you get settled in" She said softly, turning and walking to the barn. she got out her mare and tacked up to prctice barrels

Ares fetched Boy in the paddock, throwing his reins over and gently putting his bridle on. Grabbing a fist full of mane, he swung onto the red bays back. He figured he would ride the horse to the barn and put his saddle on there. The gelding loped cooly up the grass, his big stride covering the distance quickly. Once at the top, Ares saddled his horse up and rode out to find the arenas.

Cadence was in the arena practicing barrels as she saw Ares ride up. She hopped off of her mare with a smile, going and putting the barrels away and loping the edge of the arena so Ares could have some room

Trotting into the massive arena, Ares saw Cadence putting the barrels away. Her pattern still in the sand where she had made her runs. With a little click of his tongue and a give with his hand, Boy shot out from underneath him. Giving the bay his head, the two of them gave the ghost pattern a good run. He patted Boys thick neck softly, running his fingers through his mane. "How'd we do? Think we should run at the next comp?" he joked, smiling at Cadence.
