Aziel was amused when the man's brows shot up. He wonders if the man thought he wasn't going to talk back or what. He found strange that the man would think that he would never ask any questions or talk about what is going on. He thought it would be obvious when someone is imprisoned that they would want information as to why they are here. He tilted his head slightly, like a dog when they find something that peaks their interest. The man didn't know why he was here after all. The man was just as clueless and intrigued as to why he is here as well. He is just the face to the picture with the person in the shadows that planned the kidnapped.

He rolled his eyes at the man when he started mumbling about random things. He looked away, letting him finish what he wanted to say before he decided that he will start saying things. He honestly barely heard a word he said. He clearly didn't really know his people and his kingdom very well then. It tells him that he must not be part of the town and that they are further away, probably out in the middle of no where, in another kingdom, or just in another little town that is on the roads that go about the world to various places.

"Hmm." He said, seeming uninterested in him. He usually would be in the mood to talk, but since this man basically took away his good day, he is in a bit of a dark mood. "Same difference whether the goonies are yours or not. Still work with them and they listened to you, not the other way around." He mumbled as he leaned his head lazily against the brick wall. "That would be for the better anyways. Being dead that is. Would be so much more intriguing if I were dead. The scandal that would erupt." He said with jazz hands, a small smirk on his face as his gaze went back to the man. "I would be just fine if I were dead."

He once again tilted his head, his bangs hanging in his eyes. How interesting that he decided that he didn't want to talk to him anymore after he asked some more personal questions. There it was. Casper. The mind behind the plan to kidnap him. He filed that away in his head for later. He lacked the confienced that he had mere moments ago once he said he needed to leave. There has to be some sort of history between this man and Casper for him to act like this. He mumbled a goodbye to the man before he scampered off. He had a feeling he probably didn't hear him but that was okay.

He let a sigh leave his lips, his hands untying his cloak from around his neck. He folded the pillow in half, lying down and pulling the cloak over him. This was going to be so much warmer than the flimsy blanket that he was given. Who knows how cold it will get with how the nights have been getting cooler and their being leakage of water from the ceiling above. He knows he will be fine as he has endured worse than this before. Soon he drifted off to sleep, not seeming to be fazed that he was kidnapped. He found it rather... exhilarating.

~~~~~~~~~
Aziel woke up when he felt like it was morning. He let a groan leave his lips and he stretched his arms above his head, his muscle popping in the process. He sat up, letting a yawn leave his lips. He felt a bit sore since the hay bales weren't the softest, but he isn't going to complain cause he could've been sleeping on the hard floor instead. He glanced towards the door, seeing the there was a tray of the blandest and smallest portions of food on the floor. He rolled his eyes at that. He shouldn't be that surprised though since majority of people aren't going to care for their prisoners as much as he would.
He got up and went over to the food. He plopped down, not caring that he was sitting on the dirty floor. He picked up the stale piece of bread and started to eat it, his nose scrunching up slightly at how horrible it tasted. Again, he isn't going to complain since this will have to tie him over for now. He then took a drink of the water, noticing that this was rather fresh and not murky and disgusting as he thought it would be. He then took a bite of the soup or whatever it was, noticing how it didn't have any flavor to it.
Once he was done, he pushed the tray towards the door, knowing that someone will come get it eventually. He got up and went towards the bucket and did his business quickly before someone else came down here. He eventually made his way back to the hale bales and sat down, looking at the small window at the top of the room that had bars in. The sun shined it and he closed his eyes and let the warmth warm his face.
"Maybe today I will get some anwsers as to why I am here."
As Sage stumbled along down the hallways towards the kitchens, he found himself wondering if the man in the cell was still awake. If he had been able to sleep, he likely would be.....there was no one to wake him up at the crack of dawn. He wrinkled his nose slightly at the thought, wishing he could trade places with the man. Aziel, was his name? He thought that was right. Of course, he'd practically memorized everything about him that had been in his file the other day, but his brain wasn't fully awake as of right then. Either way, Casper provided for him here. He shouldn't be complaining. But he did wish he wasnt so mean all the time. It hadn't started that way, of course, but this is what it had developed into.
He popped into the kitchen quickly, grabbing the plate the cook had made up for Casper. It looked good ...a sort of crepe looking thing with berries and whipped cream and the like. Sage never got anything like this, since casper kept him on a strict diet. Something about staying fit for the job and being in tip top shape - though Sage suspected it was because Casper liked the power he held over him, and because he liked his body like this. And if Casper didn't want to sleep with him, or even if he failed a job too badly, he wasn't entirely sure he held much value to him. That thought drove any semblance of hunger he had away.
He slipped into Casper room quietly, heading cautiously for the man who was sitting up in bed, already complaining loudly about how long it had taken him to "just get the damned plate of food," along with a few not so nice names that still hurt like some kind of bullet each time he was called them. He just murmured a soft apology, even though it wasn't his fault, and backed up again, keeping his eyes on the floor nervously. Of course, he didn't get very far before the tray caught him on his collar bone area. Apparently, Casper had chuckled it at him, though for what he wasn't sure. He was focused on the pain for the moment being, and bearing it while he got on the floor to clean the mess up. Casper, in turn, purred something about liking him being on his knees, which made sages shoulders tense up. Flush formed on his face, but his blushes weren't out of any positive emotion anymore. Embarrassment. Anger, maybe. He wast entirely sure.
Eventually though, he got everything cleaned up, using the excuse of bringing it back to the kitchen to leave. It was a brief escape, since casper found him soon enough, and told him they were visiting the prisoner. He just swallowed an nodded, following him down to the cell where the prince was sitting on the hay bales. He hovered behind Casper, weight moving nervously. At the movement, Casper sort of just snapped his fingers at him, noting a sharp "stop acting like a dog," to him. Sage had frozen at the snap of course, but made sure to stay stock still behind Casper, and slightly to the side of him, as the larger man looked at the prince, crossing his arms. "You were a pesky one to snag, lad," he noted, taking his few years on the prince and making it seem like more. He was good at this sort of thing. "Now, do you think Mommy and Daddy will come looking or will they leave you to rot?"
Sage never particularly enjoyed this part of it. He liked the fights - the adrenaline rush, the blood pumping in his veins. Being outside, not tethered to this place. This man. That made him feel alive. Not this. This was ...boring. Nerve wracking, since casper was already worked up. He didn't like it.
Aziel perked up when he heard footsteps coming down the staircase. From what he could tell, there were at least two people coming down. He wonders if the man from last night is coming down again. He is curious to see who the other person is and if the person is Casper. He could care less who kidnapped him. He gets why people would, as they might be wanting ransom money, favors from royalty, or other things that they come up with. He would rather be let go, but that is obviously going to be the last thing that will happen.
He swung his legs over the hale bales, his feet planted firmly on the ground. He looked at the two men, one of them being the man from last night. From how he is acting, this man must be Casper. Finally, he gets to put a face to the name that he was given last night. His brow raised at how Casper was treating the man. Sure, he told him to stop acting like a dog, but he was treating him like one. Contradicting if he says so himself.
His gaze roamed over the man, taking in how nervous he was. It looked like something had happened before they came down here, with the stain of food on his shirt. He even noticed that there seemed to be a bruise on his collarbone that was peaking slightly above the shirt he was wearing. He doesn’t understand how people can treat others with such abuse and not have any remorse for what they have done. If he could get rid of all the people who do such things as Casper, he would gladly do it with the snap of his fingers. The world would be such a better place without them in it.
His gaze finally moved over towards Casper, finally showing that he was acknowledging his presence. He hummed as he listened to him, showing disinterest in what he was saying. He could really care less what he thinks of him and what he will do to him. If anything, he had a look of boredom on his face. Casper can do all he wants to intimidate him or abuse him mentally or physically, and he won’t give in. It just shows how much Capser feels inferior to him, trying to show he is the one in control when that will never be the case.
He pushed up off the hay bales and made his way over to the door. He stood close, but not too close. He didn’t want to be too close to where Casper could reach in and grab the front of his shirt and haul him against the prison bars. He crossed his arms over his chest and mimicked what Casper was doing, not caring what could happen next. He knows men like this, and it never surprises him how they react.
“I’m glad you had such troubles considering I am usually alone. Took you long enough to finally make a move.” He said, his voice cold and showing no waver in his tone. He shrugged his shoulders when Casper asked if his parents would be looking for him. “Maybe they will, maybe they won’t. Makes no difference to me if they leave me to rot. Your guess and curiosity are as good as mine.” He leaned forward slightly to emphasize his next little remark. “Kill me for all I care. That will definitely cause a scandal and more of an… income for your company. The man who killed the heir. Has a nice ring to it, doesn’t it?” He asked with a wink and a small chuckle.
He turned on his heels and went towards the wall. He leaned against it, his arms crossing against his chest once more, the chains rattling with the movement. His gaze flickered to the man behind Casper, not knowing his name yet. He would like to know his name, but he knows he will probably not get it. He is fine with that. If they give it, great. If not, that is fine as well.
He tilted his head towards the man. “You should also treat your staff better.” He said, a sharper and deadlier edge being heard in his tone. “Not my business is what you are going to say, and I couldn't care less about that. If you think they respect you, they don’t. They are scared of you, not knowing what to expect from you next, whether it is a verbal or physical lashing. They cower from you. You will never earn their respect no matter how hard you try.”
He knows he will probably get a lashing for that eventually, but it would be worth it. No one should ever be treated the way that Casper is treating the man.
Sage had stilled as Casper told him to, nerves rolling around inside him as he stood there. He could feel the gaze of the man in the cell on him, though he himself was focused on Casper. He was unwilling to look away for even a second....Casper was unpredictable. Even sage wasn't quite sure what to expect, and it made him nervous. Despite his bets efforts to hide it, it seemed as though the other man had picked up on it. On how their relationship worked, at least slightly.
When he finally started talking, sage winced slightly, hoping his words weren't just a bluff. Casper was ruthless. Cruel. If this man claimed nothing Casper could do scared him, and that he could kill him if he wanted ....well, it was pretty likely Casper would take him up on that. And, for whatever reason, sage could admit to himself that he didn't want to see this man hurt. Didn't want to see him dead. He'd known something kike that was coming, but this man seemed....sincere. Caring, even for people he may not necessarily like or get along with. He seemed like a good man. Sage didn't want anything bad to happen to him. Of course, he knew it would...with Casper, it was only a matter of time.
His suspicious were proved correct when Casper just chuckled slightly in response to the other man's comments. Sage could pick up on the anger in his body - the way he held his shoulders, the way his smile twitched onto something slightly more unsettling. Sage felt the hair along his arms and the neck of his neck stand up at the thought of it, as Casper spoke. "Your wishes might come true, young man," he noted, cocking his head slightly as he dropped his arms, waving a careless hand around. "You can rot in here for all I care," he added.
Sage was vaguely relieved when that was all he said before turning to leave, though he stopped dead at the other man's comments about his staff, muscles in his jaw jumping. Sage had froze mid stride, throwing a slightly alarmed glance in the mans direction. That was.....the worst things to have said to Casper, who was now glowering at the man. "What I fiance and I do on our own is no business of yours," Casper stayed coldly. "The fool knows his place. I suggest you learn yours." He moved on again quickly, leaving their prisoner with the sense that he had definitely crossed a boundary. This wasn't just a staff situation...this was a couple who were soon to be married.
Of course, sage both was scared for the wedding and excited - but that was something the man shouldn't push. He gave him a glance as he left, a quick shake of his head warning him against mentioning that again. He was grateful for the attempt....of course he was, no one had ever done that before. But....it was dangerous. And he didn't want him hurt because of him. He knew first hand how awful Casper could be....he wouldn't wish that on anyone.
As they left, Casper grunted to catch sages attention. "I'm instructing the staff. No food or water for the prisoner until I say otherwise. He gets three days for someone to call for random, and if the time passes without any contact, he does," he noted casually. Sage swallowed hard at the notice, glancing back at the dungeons with a soft murmured of "yes Casper." He didn't like it. Not at all.
That same night, he didn't sleep at all, despite the long day he'd had, full of chores and such. The mans fate lingered on in his mind, and by the time morning hit, he had already gotten up for the day, nerves not having allowed for a moment rest. He'd made up his mind by noon though, and as that day neared its end, he made sure to get dressed up nice. Made sure his makeup and hair were done. A little flirty. Casper took the bait. And when he'd finally rolled off of him, passing out on the bed beside him, sage ran. Well...he went as fast as he could without waking him. Grabbing the keys, he snuck out of the room and fled, moving down to the dungeon without any regard for the outfit he was wearing, not the way his hair was messed up or makeup was smudged. He was too nervous for that. No...he was terrified. But this was the right thing to do.
He neared the cells quickly, hands shaky as he unlocked it, throwing it open and shifting to work at the chains on the other man, heart pounding in his chest. "There's tunnels on the south end of the dungeon. You can crawl through those and get into the woods," he noted breathlessly. "I can't show you ...if Casper wakes and I'm not there it'll be a disaster. Just....go as fast as you can," he added, words jumbled and slurred with panic. He backed up then, turning and running, not wasting any time. Hopefully, the prince would take his chance and run like his life depended on it - because it did. His and quite possibly sages, too.
He ran into their house, slowing down to stay quiet. As he turned around from closing the door, he nearly ran into Casper. He let out a soft yelp, jumping backwards in panic. "What exactly do you think you're doing," the other man hissed, and sage stammered out an excuse of needing to grab something he'd left somewhere, but once the warning bells went off, signaling the prisoners escape, the words died in his throat. Casper wasted no time, a heavy blow sending him sprawling, blood dripping steadily down the side of his face. He ran, of course, though Casper caught him quickly, pinning him down in the woods somewhere, with absolutely nothing sage could do about it.
It seems like Casper thinks he is bluffing with his words. He truly doesn’t care if he dies. He doesn’t have anything worth living for anymore. Sure, he would like to do more good in the world before he leaves this plane of existence, but if he dies today or tomorrow, then so be it. He is curious to see how Oliver would do ruling the kingdom instead of him when he dies. Sure, it might be hell for a little bit, but he has a feeling that Oliver would end up being a good ruler once he realizes what he can do to help his people.
“Perfect!” He exclaimed as he clasped his hands together. A small grin was on his face, showing no cowerdance whatsoever. He was ready to face death head-on. “Where do I sign my name up? Can I also pick a time and how I die too? Ooh! How about the place too? Or the technique?!” He was clearly having fun with this, knowing that this will piss off Casper in the end. He cares not one bit if he did or not. He was having a bit of… reckless fun.
He saw the alarmed look that the man gave him after giving Casper a verbal lashing of disapproval for how he treats his staff. He narrowed his eyes slightly at his look, his head tipping slightly. He is showing he has got this and to not be worried about him. He has no qualms about what happens. Even more exciting is that Casper is engaged to this man. It saddens him, though, that the man thinks that he deserves the punishment that Casper gives him. He clearly doesn’t know any differently, and that is a bit… pathetic. He hates thinking that, but perhaps, with time, he can help the man understand that Casper is no good for him.
A sinister grin appeared on his lips as he enjoyed that he was able to find what made Casper furious. He hummed as he threaded his hands together in front of him. “It is my business when you bring it with you down here and prance it around in front of me.” He said, the sinister grin staying on his lips. “I know my place. I don’t think you know yours.” He said, not saying anymore after the man gave him another glance and a shake of his head to stop. He wanted to say so much more, but he will hold back for now.
He watched them leave before he shook his head. He really should figure out a way to get out of here. Maybe tomorrow, though, as he is quite enjoying the company he has been getting… and toying with Casper is rather amusing for him. He knows that he is dangerous, but he loves toying with the line to see how far he can push people before they finally break.
A few days passed without food and water, which Aziel wasn’t surprised by after the way he acted. He hasn’t even gotten another visit from either of the men, finding it rather interesting that Casper didn’t come down to hold him down and give him a few lashings. He was lying on the hay bales, his feet propped up on top of them as he looked up at the ceiling. His hands were clamped on his stomach, a sigh leaving his lips. He wondered how much longer he would be down here before they came down and had another conversation. He has been thinking a lot and has a lot on his mind that he wants to say.
He sat up when he heard the jingling of keys trying to open his cell door. His brows rose, surprised that the man was here, let alone seeming to get him out of here. He stood up when the man opened the door and then rushed towards him to unlock the chains around his wrists. He tilted his head to the side when the man was explaining where to go and to run as fast as he could. He seemed to really be anxious and knows the stakes on what could happen if Casper figures out he helped him. Yet, for some reason, this man didn’t really care.
He opened his mouth to tell the man to come with him, but he was already running away and making his way back to Casper. He sighed, his hands rubbing his wrists. They were a bit raw from the chains rubbing against them, but it was nothing that can’t be fixed when he gets home later. He strolled out of the cell, looking both ways before noticing his sword leaning against the wall. He grinned, loving that he wouldn’t be leaving here without it.
He quickly grabbed it before placing it at his waist. He took a deep breath before he ran up the stairs. He kept to the shadows, making sure that around every corner there wasn’t someone there. He made it to the gates and slipped through them when he heard the alarm bells ringing. Seems like he doesn’t have much more time left before they come looking for him.
He wasn’t too far from the gates before he heard some struggling going on. He stopped and slowly stalked towards the interaction, wondering what was going on. He hid behind a tree and peeked out slightly from behind it. That is when he saw Casper on top of the man. He noticed blood on the side of the man's face, knowing that he probably got a blow to the head. It seems like Casper figured out who let him out after all… and a bit too soon at that.
If he wasn’t a good person, he would’ve left the man to die so as not to risk his escape. He couldn’t run away from this, knowing that it would eat him alive if he did. The man helped him after all, so it was his turn to return the favor. He knows that it will cost him time, but he has to do this. The man deserves so much more, and he just hopes that he will come with him. He would have such a better life, even if it might take him a minute to get used to being somewhat… free.
He unsheathed his sword quietly and stalked towards them. He made eye contact with the man, putting a finger to his lips to stay quiet. Once he got close enough, he turned his wrist slightly and sent a perfect blow to the back of his head with the hilt of his sword. It knocked the man out, unfortunately, crushing the man below him. He quickly pushed Casper off of him with ease and checked to see if he was still alive. Once he felt his shallow breathing, he knew they didn’t have much time before other people found out where they were.
He moved towards the man, not giving pleasantries. He leaned down and picked the man up as gently as possible in his arms before running away from everything. From the castle and Casper that is on the ground. “Just stay still and don’t wriggle around. I’ll tend to your wounds once we get back to the castle.” He mumbled as he ran, glancing every once in a while over his shoulder to make sure no one was following them. “Your name would be great for starters.”
Sage had known that Casper would be furious. Of course, he'd also expected the man to have passed out for the night - which would have given him time to act like he was asleep beside him all night, and time for the Prince to be far away by the time anyone knew any different. Unfortunately, it had worked out that way, and he was facing the price for what he'd done. He didn't regret it at all - in fact, he knew the consequences, however severe they were, were what he deserved for this. So, he didn't really fight back. He just ...gave into Casper.
He wasn't sure why he gave up so fast, outside of it being Casper. He was a daring fighter - reckless, and unafraid of battle. And he was good at it. But when it came to Casper? He couldn't fight back even if he wanted to. He didn't know why. He wasn't sure he wanted to know.
Eventually, Casper's blows stopped hurting so much. He'd just gone numb as time had gone by, as his wounds had worsened. He probably had some broken ribs, and Casper had hurt his wrist when he'd grabbed it and spun him around earlier. He'd have plenty of cuts and bruises....he knew that. But Caspers anger would wear out after a couple of days, and things would go back to normal then. It might take him a while, but he'd calm down. Sage just had to last until then. And if his injuries killed him? Well....he wouldn't be upset about it. At least it would be peaceful after that.
When movement caught the corner of his eyes though, he instinctively looked towards it, eyes widening when he recognized the prince. So he was still around? Why hadn't he left? He cast a panicked glance back up to Casper, though luckily the man's rage had blinded him to the fact that the prince was still around.
Sage hadn't wanted Casper hurt, necessarily, so he was a little shocked when he got knocked out....he felt a bit guilty about it despite not being the one to do it. But he'd be even more mad when he woke now....and that scared him too.
He'd been scooped up by the time the thoughts could even register, though, and he sort of just threw the prince a shocked look as he was picked up like it was nothing. He knew he was light - lighter than he should be thanks to the diet Casper kept him on - but he still hadn't quite expected this. Part of him didn't want to be picked up, or taken anywhere, or touched by anyone, or anything like that. But he knew he was in sorry shape, given the fact that just staying conscious was proving to be quite difficult.
He barely registered the princes words, but at the question of his name, he chuckled slightly. It was such a simple thing, but it meant more to him than her expected. "Sage," he noted, though it was admittedly rather slurred as unconsciousness was threatening him, vision dining even as his body started going limp against the other man's chest. But for whatever reason, he felt safer like this then he had in a long while.
Aziel barely heard the man’s name before he fell unconscious against his chest. Sage. He seemed to have liked that he asked for his name. He could be hearing things, though, at the same time. He seemed to have chuckled when he asked his name before he gave it to him. He wonders if Sage thought he never wanted to know his name. Had he not helped him escape, he probably would’ve never asked for his name. Since he did help him in the end, it was only fair to hear what his name is.
It took a little while, but he eventually was able to make his way to the castle. He wasn’t as tired as he thought he would be, and his muscles weren’t really shaking that much. It must just be the adrenaline rushing through his body after everything. He slowed down when he was almost to the gate, glancing down at Sage. He isn’t sure what to say when people start asking about him, but he will have to make something up. If he tells them that he was part of the plan to kidnap him, he knows that they would drag him to the cells before letting him hang in public.
He let out a sigh before approaching the gate. Guards came up to see what was going on, but as soon as they saw him, they quickly opened the gates as they started to shout orders. They tried to take Sage from him, but he held onto the man tight, not wanting anyone to take him from him. He didn’t want anything to be done without his say so and didn’t want danger to come to the man. They tried to convince him, but he glared at them. They shrank away, knowing he meant business when he was the one telling them to stand down.
“I’m fine. A bit hungry and thirsty, but fine.” He explained before he looked at one of the guards. “Make sure the doctor is ready in the infirmary. This man needs medical attention that I would not like to have to wait till morning for him to receive it.” He told the guard, seeing that he nodded before turning and fleeing to get everything ready. “Bring the search group back in, as I know the King and Queen sent them out.” Another guard ran off. “Probably tell them that I am back as well. I bet they are… worried.” The rest of them ran off to do as they were told.
He made his way to the infirmary, not caring to run anymore. He doesn’t think he has the energy to do so anymore after everything. He trudged through the halls until he finally made it to the infirmary. The doctor was already running around the room and yelling at his assistant to get certain things as well. He wanted to have everything perfect.
“Prince Aziel!” The doctor exclaimed, running over and looking him over. “Are you alright? What happened to him? Do your parents know that you are back?” So many questions at once that he was throwing at him, knowing he would probably get a headache later from it. “Place him on the table.” He then said as he gestured towards the table.
“Just my wrists. Intact otherwise.” He said as he placed Sage on the table. “Obviously I can’t say the same about Sage.” He muttered as he gestured towards the man.
He glanced up when he heard multiple footsteps coming from the hallway. He sighed, knowing that his parents were probably checking on him instead of waiting until later. He smiled at the doctor, basically telling him to do whatever he needs to help with the wounds. He met his mother just as they arrived at the door, almost colliding into each other.
“Aziel!” His mother exclaimed and pulled him into a hug. He grunted at how hard she was squeezing him. “What happened? Are you alright? Who is this man?”
He groaned as more questions just kept coming. He was hoping that this would wait until morning. Nope. Seems like it is happening now. “I got kidnapped. Not sure why. I never got the information out of him before Sage helped me escape.” He said, gesturing towards the man when he said his name. He is just leaving the part of him being the one that did the dirty work. “Just my wrists being raw from the shackles they put on me.”
“Ointment!” His mother snapped at the doctor. She grabbed it from the doctor and gripped his wrists. She gently applied the ointment so as not to hurt him. “Well, I am thankful that he helped you.” She said softly as she started to apply ointment to the other wrist. “You do know that your father is going to be interrogating you tomorrow down to every last detail, right?” She asked as she grabbed the bandage from the doctor and started to wrap his wrists.
He rolled his eyes, knowing that his dad was going to be writing everything he said down. He will be trying to look for Casper after he gives him the name and location of the place as well. “Obviously.” He said as he pulled his hands away from his mother. “Can I talk to you more tomorrow? I have things to take care of.”
She nodded her head and pulled him into a hug once more. “Of course.” She whispered against his hair, clearly not wanting to let him go. She pulled away and gave him a bitter smile. “Get some rest soon, okay?” She soon left, leaving him, the doctor, and Sage in the room since the assistant had left for the night.
“There’s a problem with Sage. Well, more like a situation.” The doctor said as he glanced down at the man. He was all wrapped in bandages, ointment placed on cuts and bruises, and blood wiped away.
The doctors had been the royal families doctor for....well, a really long time. He was here before the king and queen took the thrones, before they married, and certainly long before Aziel had been conceived. He still remembered the king and queen as children, young and high spirited, with memories of them as they grew and aged, eventually taking the kingdom over and beating children of their own. Needless to say, he was good at his job. Very good. And it had been that way for decades. So, as Aziel placed his new companion on the table, he wasted no time tending to the mans wounds.
He was in rough shape, which did puzzle him a little bit, since Aziel himself seemed fine. This man bore plenty of scars, despite seeming a few years younger than the prince himself. His hands were those of a worker - his face like someone who had seen far too much at far too young an age. Even so, he made quick work of the broken bones and beat up body, though he frowned as he checked him over once the immediate danger was countered.
The pregnancy wasnt obvious - he was clearly malnourished and thin, so the baby was small as a result. But the bumb was there, and with his experience, he noticed it immediately. He took a moment examining the area, doing mental calculations and the like. Then, and only then, did he speak. “There’s a problem with Sage. Well, more like a situation.”
Aziel gave him a curious look, alibet a worried one as well, though the doctor was still gazing down at the unconscious patient, a slight frown on his face. "Did the boy ever mention anything about being with child to you," he finally asked, figuring that would get the point across. "Did he act like he knew?" He was well into the pregnancy itself - likely close to six months of his estimations were correct. But if this was a pregnancy that was a result of the same people who had kidnapped Aziel, it made him wonder what other kinds of things the boy had gone through. How long he'd been there, suffering from unwanted attention and abuse. He didn't like it. Not at all.
When he heard the doctor say there was a problem, Aziel wondered what it could be. Hopefully nothing too bad as he does want to get some sleep. Well, he will probably sleep here during the night incase Sage wakes up. He knows the man might be a bit confused where he is and what is happening, so him being here would probably be a good idea. He knows he shouldn't be as kind to him since Sage was the one who literally kindapped him, but after meeting Casper, he has a feeling that Sage didn't have a choice. He was also somewhat... nice... espiecally since he helped him escape his cell.
He made his way over to Sage and the doctor. He wanted to be closer so he could see what is going on and so that the doctor can show him everything. He has a feeling it is going to be a big something with whatever this doctor is going to tell him. Hopefully it isn't something that they couldn't help him with. He would feel bad if the man succumbed to his injuries without getting a little taste of what could be freedom for him.
His eyes grew wide when the doctor ask him if Sage mentioned to him about being with child. He didn't think that a man could ever get pregnant. Then he thought about it for a minute and flipped through mental images of pages that he read in books. He did read that sometimes certain creatures had the ability to where a man could be with child. It was fairly rare from his knowledge that many people are out in the world that could happen to have this. It seems that Sage is one of them. He wonders if he knew he had the ability to get pregnant or not.
"No." He said slowly as he looked up at the doctor. "I barely know him honestly. We had a few conversations, but it never came up." He said, careful not to bring up the kidnapping. There was never the chance to get to know Sage anyways since he always seemed to run away when something personal came up. "I don't think he even knows. If he does, well, I guess that wouldn't be that surprising."
He moved away from the table before walking over to the other side of the room. He grabbed a chair and dragged it over. He made sure it was by Sage but not close enough to stab him if he wakes up in a panic. He would very much not like to bleed anytime soon, even if it is on accident. He knows it would be out of his control, but that doesn't mean he will be getting any closer than he is now.
He sat down in his chair before glancing up at the doctor. "Does the pregnancy seem... viable?" He asked, knowing that it could be a sensitive topic. He seems so thin and malnourish that he would be surprised if the baby is viable. "If not, what do we need to do to get the baby out?" He knew the risks of what could happen if a baby stayed in there and ends up dying.
"If there is nothing else, you are free to go and I will watch over him for the night."
The doctor simply nodded when Aziel didn't seem to know anything about the man on the table. The more information he had, the more he could help his patient, but it seemed like it was just going to be one of those cases where he didn't have any information to go on outside of what he could figure out from looking at him. "There's not many signs," the doctor noted, half to himself and half in response to Aziel's mention of knowing would make it easier on him. "I'm guessing it's around the six months point....though all the signs are dampened by the injures and state of the lad," he added, casting a quick glance at Aziel as he moved to sit on the chair beside them.
He had gone on examining Sage by then, focusing on the baby. Aziel's question was what he was trying to find an answer to, and after he listened with his stethoscope for another moment or so, he sighed. "Maybe," he noted. "I'm not sure his body can handle such a stressor after getting this injured," he noted. "And the child is likely to have health issues of its own if the pregnancy does last and it's born,' he added with a small shake of his head. At the princes next question, he grunted softly, moving to gather up supplies for an IV, to try and get some nutrients in his patient now that he was stable. "I'm hoping that it will happen naturally - a normal miscarriage that allows it to pass without much of an issue," he noted. "However, if it doesn't happen that easily, the best way to ensure an infection won't start would be surgery to remove it entirely." That was a much more invasive method, but he wasn't sure he wanted to wait to see if the boy got sick before attempting surgery - he doubted he'd last too long if an infection flared up any time soon.
Aziel's mention of staying for the night did signal to the doctor that he wanted rest...and he likely needed it. He wasn't exactly sure what had happened to the prince, but he looked worn. He chuckled softly with a nod, finishing the IV and putting his tools away. "I'll leave you to it then," he noted. "Get rest...pull in an empty bed if you like. Blankets are in the cabinet," he added, nodding towards the doors under the countertop before passing out of the room.
The rest of the night passed quietly, and Sage didn't wake until later the next morning. He woke slowly, groaning softly as his eyes fluttered open. It took him a moment to regulate his senses, but once he realized he wasn't anywhere familiar, he shot upright, ignoring the pain his injuries caused him as panic flared in his chest.
He moved to yank the IV out of his arm, sort of just scrambling off the bed, though it was admittedly rather clumsily since he wasn't much healed yet. Even so, he just moved to hold onto the walls as he moved, stumbling along the room, towards the door. He grabbed some sort of needle like object from the sink, as his weapons were gone at the moment. This was the best he could come up with, but it would have to work.
