Kin opened his eyes to look up at her. The pain pills looked like they'd done her a lot of good. He observed her working on her wounds, grimacing at the sight of her thigh. She was still a bit scraped up looking and probably like she'd get a black eye. But the bruise on her neck continued to stand out in a gnarly purple. He almost wished he hadn't brought her, simply because it was just harsh. But he kept trying to remind himself that she was a criminal. Hunting on land that wasn't his. He'd spent a lot of time convincing people she isn't a threat and that she isn't a prisoner he's leading to her death. He shut his eyes again and brought his hand back to stroke the feline again.

Eris gave a small sigh, getting under the covers slowly and curling up a little. She was clean. She had been able to talk to one of her own. Life didn't seem quite so bad, for a moment. She made a soft call to the cat on the other bed, watching him intently.

Kin reached up to move a pillow, disturbing the cat, who gladly moved off. Hopping down from his bed and right up onto hers, crawling up onto her stomach. He watched the cat, and then wedged under the covers, rolling onto his stomach with his head turned away, resting on his arms. "Night."

Eris smiled to herself as the cat crawled straight onto her, curling her arms gently around him and stroking her fingers over his ears. "Goodnight." She said simply, curling up with the cat and falling almost immediately to sleep.

The next morning rolled around quickly, the sun bore down on the building, but their window didn't face east. He finally decided to get up once it got light in their room. He picked himself up quietly, on his hands and knees in the bed. He glanced over at Eris before he crawled out from under the covers. He stretched and knelt down ny his bag. He picked the pouch of herbs out, leaving two out on top of it, on the wardrobe. He slipped the capelet over his shoulders but didn't bother putting any shoes on, taking his bag and going out. He passed by the empty bar, politely waving at the keepers and having a look around.

Eris woke to soft light in the room, blinking a few times to adjust. She found herself almost nose to nose with the sleeping tom cat- at least, she thought he was sleeping, until he opened his big blue eyes. She gave a little smile and pressed a kiss to his forehead, sitting up and glancing around for Kindred. Nowhere in sight. Stupid, sneaky elf. She continued to give the cat beside her scratches, using her shadows to pull the bag over to her. She rooted through it for a hair brush, then set about brushing her hair with one hand.

The elf was wandering around the newly opened and brightly colored market. Most baskets were full of vibrant fruits. Imedal was a fruitbearing country, the elves seemed to have a bit of a sweet tooth. There were herbs and other useful items like rope and tools in more longstanding booths. Those would likely stay out all winter. He strolled contentedly, eating an exotic looking purple fruit. They seemed to be his favorite kind. Eventually he had walked the street on both sides, then entered a store. Fortunately he didn't need to stock up yet. He returned to the inn and slipped back into their room.

Eris changed into some clothing She figured was more suitable for the day- long pants and a simple t-shirt. Otherwise, she looked at her wounds idly, petting her kitty and waiting quietly for Kindred to return. She simply sat, cross legged, until the door opened. She looked up at him flatly. "Where did you go?" She asked bluntly, watching the cat leap from her lap and move to twine between Kin's legs.

Kin gazed around, seeing her but stopping short to keep from stepping on the cat, bending over when she inquired. He glanced up at her twice before focusing on their snowy feline companion. "I checked out the market, always best in the morning." He expounded, the sound of a smile in his voice while he fished his fingers through the cat's hair, scratching his chin when he crept around Kin's ankles.

Eris nodded slowly at his answer, cracking her knuckles. "Anything of note?" She asked simply, clearing her throat afterward. He seemed so... happy. Pleased, even. She watched him scratch the cat quietly, shifting a little bit. This was so stupidly domestic. Talking about the morning market and petting the cat. Waiting for him to come home. Stupid. She hated it. ...just a little bit.
