Rose couldn't bring herself to do anything excpet go back into the bedroom and sit down. She tossed her phone, still displaying Caden's smiling face, to the corner of the room. She curled up on the bed and cried

Rose heard Caden but didn't go to him. She stayed where she was as the tears slowed and her face lightened from the dark red it had been. She sighed and got up, walking to Caden. She looked down, not meeting his gaze in fear of frustrating him. "I'm sorry for getting angry. That wasn't fair when you did nothing wrong." She said. She turned and walked back upstairs without another word

Caden fell asleep quickly, tired from the work in the study.

Rose felt another tear roll down her face and she realized she'd cried a lot since getting together with Caden. She sighed shakily, not turning around or speaking, and got up to walk to the balcony. She looked out at the city as she had so long ago, trying to bring herself some peace of mind.
