Anya turned her head towards the girl with the biggest grin, her cheeks flushing up slightly. "I can see that," she laughed, replying to how Sage got flustered. She pursed her lips into a line before chewing on the inside if her lips and glancing back towards the boy, "It's sweet, you know," Anya mocked brightly. Anya was fairly used to having such comments made about her and complete strangers - but she couldn't really say anything about it. Instead, she would put on a show... a comedy act if you will. She didn't want to do that with Sage though. For such a seemingly hardy guy, watching him scrabble for words was more than amusing. Anya would stay realitively firm in that they were friends... strictly so, but it didn't mean she couldn't play with him a little.

Sage groaned and shook his head. "You two are horrible creatures," he muttered playfully. He wasn't mad or anything, not even really annoyed. His face was very red now, he was sure, and he doubted the dirt could hide that. He pouted playfully. "I can't even tease back because I don't know anything to tease about."

Anya wrinkled her nose at him as she grinned, "Well thats because I'm not exactly easy to tease," she grumbled, furrowing her brows, "You on the other hand - I could mock you all day." She chuckled softly. "Like how easy you get flustered." The girl looked him over with a smirk, "I can see that you're flushed even with all that dirt on your face." Anya noted, tilting her head at him. She could tell that his sister enjoyed watching him struggle for words and flap about too. She didn't want to stop - but alas, her cheeks were burning from both grinning a flushing, so her fun would soon end, "You embarrass wayy easily. Do you not talk to girls much?" This was an obvious jab. One that brought back her previously dropped grin.

He snorted and pointed at her. "Yeah, well, you're blushing too," he cackled. Then he grinned and tilted his head at her. "Talk, no. Other things, yes. Tavern work remember?" He tapped a finger on his lips thoughtfully. "Or were you too busy teasing to remember," he chuckled, teasing her right back. "seems to me like you don't often have good conversations with buys," he pointed out, still teasing the girl

"Ah well teasing fogs my brain too much remember such things. Seems like you're missing out." she huffed, fiddling with her hair before wrinkling her nose, "No, I don't really have good conversatioms with anyone," she murmured thoughtfully. "The guys I talk to are all asshats and the girls aren't much better." She shrugged lightly. More like the guys wanted to get in her bed and the girls wanted to befriend a princess. Not that Anya was stupid enough to associate with them for long though. A smirk grew back onto her face, "you're one of very few people I get along with. I suppose you could say I quite like you."

Sage chuckled and shrugged. "It's not very different here. Everyone's mean to everyone." He grinned at Anya. "You and Lizzie are the only two people I get along with, ands my sister so I guess you're labeled as by best friend even though you're my only friend." He knew what it was like in that retrospect....although while she had issues with guys he mainly had issues with the girls. He had been pursued by a few guys, who were too drunk to know what they were doing, but luckily the tavern owner didnt make sage take them into a room. Anyone who couldn't defend themselves would try to follow him around, though that was rare ... You fought or you died here.

"Aww," she girl joked quietly. "I've never had a best friend before," she purred out with a grin. Maybe she had, ahen she was a small child. She looked up at him with a smile. "Thats sweet." She murmured as she peered out the window. Screems had died down but she could still see one or two men going around and picking up straglers. It was brightening up, and despite her reluctance to having to leave, she really would have to go soon. "Hey, Tavern Boy, are you working durning the day today?" She asked with a tilted head.

He shook his head. "It's my day off. I usually work, but with your help I don't have to anymore." He would probably wander around aimlessly, with nothing to do. Keep an eye on Lizzie maybe. He didn't know. What he did know was that he like the tavern boy nickname Anya had given him. It was nice to hear, something about him that wasn't used in a negative manner.

Anya gave him a smile, "I'm glad I can help," she noted softly before looking as though she forgot something. She reached into her pockets and pulled out two envelopes. "I forgot to pay you yesterday, so here," she murmured quietly. She was glad Sage had the day to himself. It means he still had time to recover. He said he was fine, but a day of waiting tables didn't sound like it would do him any good. "Do get some rest. It'll be good for you to have some peace and quiet." Anya murmured thoughtfully. She turned her head towards Lizzie with a grin, "And don't let Lizzie bully you," She laughed, glancing between the two siblings warmly. Edited at August 1, 2022 06:41 AM by Belle

Sage took the envelopes and glanced over at Lizzie. "I'll get her back," he practically cackled. "Don't you worry about that. I've got some ideas." He grinned over at Lizzie who gasped playfully and grabbed a spoon. "Stay away from me you rotten beast," she giggled. Sage cackled evilly and started chasing her around the tavern, growling like an animal. Lizzie ran away laughing and then turned around and poked his with the spoon in the gut. Sage gasped and staggered back. "AHHHH, you got me! This is the end of the fantastic beast! Blood blood blood and death!" He fell over backwards, over a chair and went limp with his eyes crossed and his tongue out in a funny position. Lizzie started laughing and after a moment so did sage.
