"It wasn't a challenge." Tempe chuckled softly, tilting her head at the worried expression that came onto his face. How had she worried him? What did she do? Was it her face? Something she said? Everything was confusing to her, even seemingly obvious things. She frowned slightly at Zeph for his sudden standoffishness, about to reply when none other than Amelia, the Aphrodite girl from earlier, popped up beside her. She was speaking before Tempe could get a word out, eyeing Zephyr in what she seemed to think was a discreet way. It felt sickeningly obvious to her. A "Hey, girl. I heard you say you didn't have a bathing suit for tonight- I have a spare that should fit you pretty well. We're close enough to the same build. I could give it to you?" She offered kindly, flashing a charming smile. Tempe nodded slowly, her brain between jealousy and gratification. "Yeah, that'd be great. Thanks so much. Uh, could you just leave it in front of my cabin whenever you go to change? I don't want you to have to seek me out." With a light nod, Amelia started walking off- not so accidentally brushing against Zephyr's shoulder as she passed.

Zephyr closed his eyes for a second and tried to collect himself. He hated when his emotions showed through his hard exterior, because that just made him try harder to be even more stony. He winced as he realized he was being rather curt, and it wasn't her fault. He shouldn't be mad at her for his own problems. He opened his mouth to apologize when the Aphrodite girl strode up. Thankfully she wasn't speaking to him. He still wasn't sure he even wanted to be friends. He ducked his head slightly as the girl eyed him while talking to Tempe. He half stepped aside half got ran into when she left. Not saying anything, Zeph turned back to Tempe. "I'm sorry for my temperment at the moment. Luke has never treated me like an equal. I'll see you at the lake, right?" He inquired with a faint smile, which looked forced.

Temperance watched Amelia walk off, her eyes slightly glazed over as multiple unsavory thoughts crossed her mind. A few were slightly violent. She blinked herself back to the present as he spoke to her, turning her gaze slowly to him. She frowned at the news about Luke, unsure of what to say. Luke had never said anything unsavory about Zeph in front of her- and as far as she knew they were on good terms. She decided to glaze over it for now and ponder it. "Uh... yeah. Yeah, it's fine, Zeph. I'll see you there." She nodded, setting a hand on his bicep to pat him as she walked off.

Zephyr tilted his head slightly as he studied Temperence- deep in her eyes she didn't look happy. It didn't seem normal, but then again, it was probably just some stupid thing he said. When she came back to the present, he stopped worrying, deciding she could take care of herself. He nodded at her goodbye, although it wasn't like her, and walked away, towards his cabin. Even in the heat- it was almost 80 degrees at the moment- he was wearing a black hoodie he had found to cover his arms. He needed to go find another leather jacket. He was still mourning over the loss of his last one. Zeph rummaged through his small collection of clothes, the drawer almost hard to see as everything was black and the cabin had no lights- only the light from outside, which was minimal because he had most of the shades drawn. He glanced at the clock- it was already getting later, quite near the time the people would go to the beach. He snatched something out of the drawer and put it on, running a hand through his hair before heading down towards the lake. He had changed into his only pair of swim shorts- he was actually shocked he even owned any- which were, no surprise, black. A thin athletic black t-shirt finished off his swimsuit, and it actually wasn't it, because as the noise grew and he reached the lakeside to see all the people, he pulled the shirt over his head and hung it up, pretty much ready to swim out into the lake and disappear until it was over.

Tempe made her way back to her cabin to find the Swimsuit, as promised, on her doorstep. She grabbed it without looking and simply made her way inside, tossing it on her bed and only then realizing it was a two-piece. Not extremely risque, but a bikini none the less. She stared at it for a moment and shifted uncomfortably on her feet. She had never worn a two piece before- she was barely confident enough to stroll around in a one piece. She also didn't even swin often, so there was that. Then again, it was either that or swim in shorts and a t-shirt, which was not happening. So with a slightly stress-ridden sigh, she changed into the burgundy amalgamation of strings and tied it without looking in the mirror. She brushed her hair out and let it hang down in its natural, loose waves down her back, reaching back to feel the black, bolt shaped scar on her shoulder blade. Hopefully it would pass off as a tattoo. She glanced at herself in the mirror and tried not to hate her body for a few moments before throwing on shorts and a T-shirt over it. She put on a little bit of waterproof mascara and walked out barefoot, making her way to the dock with her hands in her pockets. It seemed like most of the older kids at Camp-Halfblood were already there. She avoided the crowd and made her way toward Zephyr, who was off to the side, almost stopping short when he just... took his shirt off. She blinked a few times, and closed her mouth as she continued walking toward him. The plan failed when she stumbled, almost ending up flat on her face.

Zephyr looked at the bustling lake before his gaze snapped towards Temperence, his eyebrows lifting slightly as he saw her shocked face for a second, and then she stumbled. "There's this thing called walking... it's not that hard." He couldn't resist but tease lightly. That was a protective response so he didn't say what he was actually thinking, or do what he was thinking. Holy guacamole. She looked... pfft, like an Aphrodite girl- yes she had always been pretty but he could swear her face was glowing. It was SLIGHTLY distracting, and although he could make jokes, he was pretty sure he wouldn't be able to think too much. He ran a hand through his hair, the black strands falling back near his eyes, casting a shadow over his dark blue sharp gaze. Surprisingly, he wasn't as pale underneath, his normal color a little more tanned, well toned-muscle showing through, however his ribs also were close to his skin, showing he definitely wasn't really eating enough to get a normal layer of fat, just enough to keep his muscle tone the same.

Temperance forced a flush down from her face, standing and huffing at him. "The ground came up out of nowhere, I swear." She joked, offering him a grin. She moved to wiggle out of her shorts, moving fast so she had an excuse not to look at him and so there wasn't time for her to wimp out. She tossed them on the sand and did the same with her shirt, standing up straight and adjusting her suit for a moment before she looked up at him. "Shall we? There's a whole dock waiting for us. I'm hoping if you go first, people will look at you instead of me.

Zephyr snorted slightly, looking mildly amused. "Nowhere. Huh. Okay then, I won't comment because I'm TRYING to be nice and sweet and whatever else you said, but this is hard, remember that." He wrinkled his nose slightly before glancing at her, swearing if he didn't have good self-control his eyes would've bugged out of his head. If he was a cartoon character they probably would've went out on springs with little hearts in them. What was WRONG with him. In any case, she looked like a model in the swim suit. And she was obviously self conscious about it, so he didn't look at it for more than a second after she turned back, trying not to be any other boy. "Um, me going first sounds like a terrible idea if it will bring attention to me. I don't like attention, remember?" He winced slightly, glancing around and not moving from the shadow he was in for at least 10 seconds before sighing heavily and walking forward, towards the dock.

"Rude." Tempe huffed simply, crossing her arms over her chest- then uncrossing them. Balling her fists, then unballing them. She didn't seem like she had any idea what to do with herself. She glanced up at him once she felt less like an idiot, unsure what to feel when he was staring distinctly away from her. She was between embarrassment and being grateful, and also a little sharp twinge of self-consciousness. "Well, right now, I, uh, like attention less. So, go." She muttered, resisting the urge to curl her arms around herself. She waited for him to move and then followed at his side, trying to move naturally and not like she felt like an imposter in her clothing. "How many drachmas do I need to pay you for you to cannonball off the dock?" She asking teasingly.

Zephyr glanced at her again- she seemed really ... nervous? No. Uncomfortable, definitely. He understood that part. She probably wasn't used to wearing an Aphrodite's daughter's version of a swimsuit, and he wasn't used to swimming, period. Okay that was a lie, he actually swam a lot just to get over, before, his fear of it. But he still didn't love swimming. And he was NOT used to being shirtless. If he was self conscious about his ARMS not showing this SUCKED. He ducked his head slightly at the thought and winced, closing his eyes for a moment before he reached the dock. He was FINE. And she was FINE. And he didn't need to start freaking out yet. No panic attacks. Yet. At her question he slowly looked at her, thinking about how even to start answering that question. At this point he was ready to give up and stop thinking at all. "Cannon balls are outdated." He snorted before backing up slightly and bolting to the end of the dock, using the side to push off and flip in. The water was decently deep here- 13 feet, easily deep enough to do a flip. He sank a little bit before surfacing, shivering at the feeling of the Cold liquid sloshing against his skin.
