Cougar - He sighed. "Cleo, this is the same problem we keep talking about. I feel naive, like Marble doesn't trust me and that she's treating me like a foal. I feel like I can't do anything right, and that..." He paused, figuring out how to phrase it. "...me and Marble don't seem fit to be together." He laid his head in the dirt and sighed. "Or, maybe me and Marble do go together, but I'm just not good enough for her right now. Idk."

Cleo - Cleo settled on the ground in front of him. "She trusts you, I promise." Cleo sighed. "I know it seems like shes babying you, but thats the way she shows that she cares. She doesn't want to see you hurt or upset so she shields you from everything that could hurt or upset you." Cleo explained. "You do fit together. Perfectly. You just need to see that. Ask her out, cuddle with her, bring her flowers, give her lots of affection, and you'll see that you really are meant for each other."

Cougar - Cougar didn't respond, staring at the dirt. Cleo was crazy if she thought he had the confidence or mental capacity to Ask Her Out. "How do I know you're not lying to make me feel better?" He asked with a snuff. "Right now, I'm stressed and have zero confidence. Imagine how you would feel if I told you you should, I dont know, ask Marley out." Marley perked up, and quacked. "Awkward, right?" He smiled.

Cleo - Cleo sighed. She could probably get more progress if she was talking to a wall. "But for you and Marble its different!" Cleo whined. "You and Marble are friends, you both like each other as more than friends, and you both, for the most part, understand and trust each other." she explained. "Marley and I don't even know each other and he's just a duckling."

Cougar - Cougar eyed Marley, who looked at Cleo, then back at Cougar. "I wouldn't call Marley a duckling.." Cougar snuffed. "Maybe a doofus though." He muttered. He turned back to look at Cleo. "But see, even you agree that me and Marble, 'for the most part, trust each other.'" He pouted, head drooping. "I just dont know if we'll work out. You say that she trusts me, but how do you know?"

Cleo - Cleo rolled her eyes. "Marley is only 1, I'm 4. Ducks live for 10-15 years, Jays live till 7. So I'm middle-aged, and he's a duckling." Cleo retorted. "She definitely trusts you, what I'm not too sure about is you trusting her," Cleo said honestly. "Marble pushes away others who she doesn't trust. Her parents were abusive and her brother is not the kindest, she pushed all of them away because she didn't trust them. Her sister is also a little loudmouthed, so Marble doesn't fully trust her either, and you don't see her around either, hm?" Cleo explained. "Ever wonder why she doesn't have any friends other than us?" Cleo questioned. "Thats cause she has trouble trusting others, but she was able to trust us."

Cougar - Cougar rolled his eyes at Cleo's first statement. He quietly listened, a frown appearing on his face. He puzzled over what the small bird said. It maybe made sense, but he wasn't sure he believed it. "I think I need to go on a walk.." he said softly, starting to rise. He started to wander away, planning on ignoring Cleo if she called after him. Maybe it was time he and Marble talked about things. Nothing about their situation was improving, so Cougar decided to take action. He tried to remember where Marble had gone, and headed in that general direction.

Cleo - Cleo rolled her eyes. "Mk" she tweeted sourly and flew away, up into the tree branches above Cougar and Marble's canopy. . Marble - Marble was in the meadow. She lay on the ground, surrounded by tall grasses and flowers, rolled on the back, watching the clouds drift by. She was just thinking, about everything. Her current situation-ship with Cougar, Felipe getting older, the coming summer, everything.

Cougar - Cougar wandered through the meadow, eyes peeled for Marble. It took him over an hour to find her, and he approached her after spotting her. She looked so peaceful, and he puzzled over wether or not to bother her. He eventually did approach, and he quietly said, "Marble, we need to talk." He paused, shifting his weight. He continued to stand, trying to be serious. "I... I don't know how to word this." He said, fumbling over his words. "Cleo told me it's just part of your personality, but I feel like you're trying to mother me." He paused again, licking his lips and flicking his tail. "You probably don't mean it, but I feel like you are constantly telling me off as if I'm a foal. I get it, you care and want to keep me safe, but the way you are, unintentionally, treating me makes me feel naive and stupid. It also lowers my self confidence a little. I also feel like you don't trust me. I still remember when Marley first came into my life, and I feel like I shattered your trust and you think I'm just some dangerous "duck injuring" maniac. Marley's the dangerous one. He bites ankles, just so you know." He rolled his eyes. "I just feel like this isnt working out, and I don't feel happy or comfortable right now." He lowered his head, mane and forelock messily falling over his neck and forehead.

Marble - Marble rolled over and stood up when Cougar approached, smiling at him. "Hi," she said brightly, but her smile immediately disappeared at his first words. Marble listened, her heart shattering with every word. She had thought they might be getting somewhere, growing closer, but I guess she was wrong. Marble immediately took Cougar's words as a polite way of telling her to leave. Well, that is how it used to work in the olden days. If a stallion didn't like his mare, he kicked her out and kept their home. Marble had never taken him as an old-styled horse, but maybe she was wrong about that too. She just didn't know what to think anymore. Marble lowered her head, avoiding his gaze, tears welling in her eyes, but Marble kept them from running down her cheeks. "....I'm sorry... I didn't know you felt that way..." she mumbled, staring at her feet. "...Sorry... I'll go..." she mumbled, starting to walk back to the canopy to collect the jays, and then she'd leave. Cougar obviously didn't want her around anymore.... . ( Sry, Ik Marbles rlly weird and sensitive and stuff like that. Just playing the part. )
