Aziel listened as the doctor spoke, his fingers rubbing against his temples. After everything the last few days, he was starting to finally get a headache, espeically since he hasn't had much food and water recently. He is surprised that Sage is six months along. He looks like he would only be a few months along with who he looks and the state that his health is in. He wasn't that surprised when the doctor didn't seem convinced that the baby would survive and if it did, it would have multiple problems. He hopes that his body would naturally have a miscarriage, but he has a feeling that might not exactly happen. "Okay. If he wakes sometime soon, I will fetch you and we can talk about this with him. He deserves to know everything and his options if he doesn't already." He said with a sigh. He nodded his head, giving the doctor an appreciated smile. "Thank you for everything as usual, doc." He mumbled before the doctor exited the room. He glanced back at Sage, his head leaning against his hand as his elbow rested against the armrest. He wonders if he will wake up anytime soon or not. He hopes not because then he could actually get rest for once without having to worry about whatever happens when he is with Casper. As he was thinking of what to say to Sage and the events that have happened in the last few days, he soon drifted off to sleep. ~~~~~~~ He woke up in the early morning before the sun rose above the mountains. He glanced at Sage, seeing that he was still peacefully resting in his sleep. He got up, his arms raising above his head as he stretched. He heard his muscles pop, a groan leaving his lips as he was already feeling better after sleeping in an awkward position. He knows that his father is already awake and should probably tell him about the events that happened so they can figure out what to do. They should also do it to ensure that no one tries to sneak in and harm either of them. He took one last look at Sage before he made his way out of the infirmary. He will be back to check on him later after his meeting. He walked down the halls, seeing maids and other nobles starting to fill space to carry on with their duties for the day. He smiled at them, glad to finally be back and see his people. They all would muttered a 'good morning' and 'welcome back' as he passed by them. He thanked them, knowing that they are relieved that he is finally back. He knows they are probably wondering what happened to him, but he is hoping it doesn't leak out what happened anytime soon. He soon made it to his father's study and knocked on the door. He entered once he heard his father say come in. His father was sitting at the desk, his head bent as he was reading over some papers that is in his hands. He had salt and pepper hair that was slicked back with a gold crown embedded with emeralds and diamonds resting on top of it. He looked eerily similar to Aziel himself, minus the forest green eyes he has. Obviously, his father was older as well and has wrinkles adnoring his face due to age. "Aziel." He greeted as he set his papers down and looked at him. "I figured you would be coming this morning. What exactly happened?" Aziel sat down in the chair, crossing his legs at the ankles and threading his fingers together on top of his stomach. He shrugged his shoulders. "Don't know the reason for the kidnapping before you ask." He grumbled as he looked up at his father. He knows he would ask that, so he said it first before anything else. "I got kidnapped going to the school. Not sure exactly where I was since I was injected with some medication that knocked me out. All I know is I woke up in a cell." He started to explain. He is making sure he chooses his words carefully. "The man, Casper, was the one behind it. He never explained anything. I said some things that I shouldn't have and he ended up not giving me food or water. No lashings or anything like that. Just some raw wrists from the shackles." His father listened intently, his eyes narrowing slightly when he didn't continue on. "Alright." He said, seeming to try and figure out how to word his next question. "What about the man in the infirmary that you brought? You know we don't allow people behind our walls without intensive background checks and monitoring." He explained, wondering what the reason was to bring Sage here. Aziel sighed and looked away, hoping that Sage would be left out. He knew better than to hope. "He helped me escape. He was then getting beat up by Casper for letting me out. I couldn't leave him to succumb to his injuries and go back to that man." He explained, hoping that would help. He is hoping that doesn't mean he will tell the guards to cast Sage out. The king sighed as he nodded his head. "Very well." He stood from his chair and rounded the desk to stand in front of him. "He can stay until he is healed. I will have the captian interrogate him once he is starting to feel better. If there is anything that he does wrong, I won't hesitate to throw him in the cells." Aziel nodded his head, showing that he understood everything he is saying. "Understood, father." He stood up and started to walk to the door. He only stopped when his father called out to him. "I will not have this happen again, Aziel." He started as he crossed his arms over his chest. "From now until I deemed it safe, you will always have some guards go with you when you go to town. I wanted this all along, but you seem to be so careless with your life. I don't want you to end up dead, especially since you are going to be taking over eventually." Aziel grabbed the knob of the door, a muscle in his jaw popping with annoyance. "Yes, father." He said, knowing that he can't argue against him nor did he have the energy to do so right now. "We can talk about what to do later as well." He quickly left the room before his father could say anything else, not wanting something to be said that shouldn't. He noticed that the sun was now starting to highlight the sky. Hopefully Sage is going to wake up soon or he might have to get the doctor. He just wants to make sure that he is somewhat okay and be there in case he wakes up in a panic when he isn't there. Once he started to get close to the infirmary, he heard some noises coming from it. He had a feeling that Sage finally woke up and is panicking on where he is. He quickly opened the door, knowing that he probably should've been careful doing so but didn't think better of it. The next thing he knew, he felt something sharp slice down his arm. He jumped back slightly before quickly taking the syringe out of Sage's hand before he hurt either one of them more. "Sage, calm down." He said after he put the syringe down and put his hands up in the air. "You are safe here in my kingdom. Please calm down or you are going to hurt yourself even more." He said as he glanced over his injuries, hoping that he didn't tear anything open. He could feel blood dripping down his own arm but didn't care. "Besides, you are bleeding down your arm since you ripped the IV out." He said as he gestured towards the blood dripping down Sage's own arm. Edited at July 1, 2026 05:14 PM by The Seven Sins

Sage had been moving towards the door when it opened. He didn't take the time to see who it was....as soon as the door started to move he did too, jumping forward, alibet in a rather clumsy manner, slashing with the syringe in his hand. Normally, he probably could have recognized Aziel and not attacked him, but in the moment the panic had taken over, and he couldn't trust anyone. He wasn't even sure if Aziel was an ally or just returning a favor for helping him go. He fought whoever was in front of him when they reached for the syringe, though he was still weak and everything really hurt, so the struggle didn't last for very long. When the man stepped back though, he managed to get his thoughts about him enough to recognize Aziel, and he froze for a moment, sort of taking a wary half step backwards, using the wall to steady himself, chest still heaving a nervous, shallow breaths. His mind was whirling, though somehow still groggy and slow from whatever medicine he'd been given previously. He didn't like it. He forced himself to think though, and take on what the prince was saying. "I'm....in the castle," he asked, though Aziel had pretty much just said as much. He was just struggling to reason why. How. He had all the questions, and none of the answers, and he figured he wasn't likely to get all of them answered. "What the hell did you tell your parents that made them not toss me back out in the woods to die," he noted, clearly confused and not at all concerned with the fact that he'd be killed if they found out he'd been working with Casper. Even if it wasn't necessarily all out of choice....he doubted the king and queen would care. And he wasn't too keen to test people who would have left their son and heir to rot in a dungeon. They just ...didn't seem like nice people. At his mention of the IV he'd ripped out, he sort of blinked slowly as he processed it before glancing down at his arm and wrinkling his nose slightly as he shifted his weight to press his other hand against the wound, stoping the blood from dripping all over the floor as much. "Not my best idea, I suppose," he admitted tiredly, some of his nerves settling slightly once it became clearer that Aziel wasn't going to hurt him. He didn't trust him, not yet, but he didn't think he'd hurt him either. He looked back at the prince then, taking a steadying breath. "Why am I here," he asked. "And for how long? And what exactly do I need to do to stay," he asked, eyes narrowing slightly. After a beat, he quickly added an "I'm not marrying anyone." He knew that wasn't likely something that was going to happen, but it did last time, and with his luck being so rotten he wouldn't put it past whoever or whatever was in charge of fate to now put him in the same situation. "Not sleeping with anyone either," he clarified, taking another half step backwards. Maybe he was overthinking things, but he wanted to be sure. He didn't want to walk into something and be surprised by anything like that. After another beat of silence, though, Casper came to mind with the thought of sleeping with or marrying someone. "Caspers gonna be pissed I'm gone," he added, panic clearly starting to bubble up again. "I...I need to get back. The longer I'm here the worse it'll be when I return," he added, stepping forward to try to push past Aziel, though he didn't know where he was even going. It didn't work, though maybe that was for the better in some way...Aziel didn't move an inch, and sage backed up again with quickened breathing, clearly getting agitated again as his gaze flickered over to the window and the door and back again nervously. The wound from the IV forgotten, he just shifted towards the window, fully intending to climb out...though his body likely would have given out on him if he'd made it there. Of course, he didn't make it....Aziel appeared in front of him again, and he found himself being moved back to the bed he woke up on, and sat there firmly but with a surprising gentleness. Well...maybe not too surprising, given the fact that Aziel had brought him here, likely in his arms the whole way. "Did you really carry me all that way," he asked after a moment or so, looking back over at Aziel. He wasn't sure how he managed to do that...but it did somewhat impress him. More than he'd like to admit. He could feel his body protesting every movement now, strained by getting up and about. He should probably focus on that, right? He looked down at the bandages covering his torso and sighed, shaking his head. "How long was I out," he asked. "And what all happened," he added, meaning what injuries he received and how bad they were. That sort of thing. The doctor was probably the best one to ask these things, but he wasn't here at the moment. So he was asking Aziel. The doctor would return soon, and he'd talk to him then. But for now, he trusted Aziel more. Edited at July 1, 2026 07:08 PM by NightClan

When Sage finally calmed down, Aziel relaxed slightly. He knew that the man will most likely try to escape again, so he has to be ready just in case. He watched as Sage thought, slowly saying the words back to him when he mentioned he is in a castle. He just rolled his eyes when Sage asked what he even said to his parents. Why do people assume that all royals are terrible people sometimes? He gets it, but at the same time he doesn't. To reach their own, he supposes. He shrugged his shoulders, not worried about what he is about to say. he bets that Sage isn't going to care much for what he says. "I told mostly the truth. I kept the part out about you kidnapping me otherwise you would be thrown out." He said truthfully. He also didn't think that Sage deserved to die anyways. "I just said that you helped me escape and that you were basically getting beat up by Casper and I helped you out and took you here. My father believed me, though, once you are feeling better, he is going to have my captain interrogate you. It would be best if you left out the part about kidnapping me or you will for sure be hanged." He said, slightly wincing at the thought of that. Sagedefinitely didn't deserve to be hanged. He watched as Sage glanced down at the blood dripping down his arm after he pointed out he ripped his IV out. He could only roll his eyes at that. He grabbed some gauze and bandage, still keeping an eye on him to ensure that he wouldn't take that as an opening to try and tun out. Once he got some, he slowly came over, clearly showing he isn't going to do anything. He gently took his arm, ready to jump back if Sage for some reason tries to lash out at him. He slowly wrapped his arm up while listening to the questions that started to flow out of his mouth. Did he not know that curiosity sometimes kills the cat? He took a few steps back once he was done wrapping his arm. His brows rose about him not marrying anyone or sleeping with anyone either. He couldn't help but let out a low chuckle at that. He also doesn't completely understand when people he doesn't know very well think that he does something nice that they think that he wants to sleep with them or marry them. He doesn't remember saying anything to anyone nor does he think his actions indicate otherwise. He gets what Sage is thinking after everything with Casper, but did he really think that he was so low to considering doing that? He would rather have people have a choice in what they want than forcing them into something. "Do you really think me so low to offer that or let my parents consider it?" He asked with a tilt of his head, curious to see if Sage really thought that of him. "You don't have to do anything. Can't people just be kind and not think that they have to do anything in return? Clearly not." He mumbled the last part, glancing away for a second, slightly hurt. "You just need to get better, heal and actually eat to where you are at a healthy weight. After that, you can do as you please." He said with a wave of his hand. As soon as Sage said that Casper was going to be pissed that he was gone, he knew he was going to try something. He blocked his way, knowing he didn't have the strength to push him away. He then thought it was a great idea to go towards the window, which he quickly put a stop to that. He forcibly, but gently guided him back toward the bed and had him sit down. He sat down in the chair next to him, more so on the edge so if Sage tried to escape, he could jump up and stop him. He shrugged his shoulders when Sage asked if he carried him all the way. "Yeah, piece of cake." Sure, his muscles were a bit sore, but that didn't stop him from anything. Besides, Sage wasn't that heavy either that it wasn't that difficult to carry him. "No issue at all." He has always been physically active, so carrying someone like Sage wasn't that hard. He went quiet when Sage asked him what happened and how long he was out. He didn't really want to tell him anything, especially since the doctor should be doing that. He looked over Sage, having a feeling that he is asking him cause he wants the answers from him first. He wasn't really good with these kind of things as he rather the doctor do it than him. Not that he wouldn't do it. He just didn't want to get the grunt of it from someone if they aren't happy with his responses. "Well, you were only out of maybe twelve hours. It wasn't too long as everything happened yesterday night." He started of slowly, being careful how he words things. He started to fiddle with his hands, something he does when he sometimes gets a bit anxious. "Some broken bones mostly. Bruises here and there. You're malnourished. Um, and..." He trailed off, not sure if he should say the last part. He doesn't know if Sage knows and if he knew it would be a possibility. "One other thing." He muttered, knowing that this might change Sage's perspective on everything. "The doctor said you are also pregnant. I think he said six months along."

Sage listened to the prince speak, doing his best to take in all in, despite all the questions whirling around in his mind. But, he did need to know what was going on. What had happened. If they were going to try to keep him alive, their stories would have to match. He had no doubt their interrogation would be thorough, and that the royal couple wouldn't heasitate if he was found to be someone who had originally hurt their son ...even if he'd saved him later on. "Right," he grumbled when Aziel mentioned the hanging, running a tired hand along his face. He stiffined when the other man approached him, though relaxed slightly when he recognized he was just trying to wrap his arm up. He was helping. He allowed him to take his arm without much trouble, eyebrows lifting slightly at his comment. "Should I," he asked, moving on quickly. "I know nothing about you...outside of the fact that you're a prince." He shrugged slightly, testing the newly bandaged arm. Satisfied with the results, he moved on. "If you expect the worse from people, you'll never be disappointed in them," he noted, cocking his head slightly as he watched the prince continue to speak. Evidently, he was trusting. Too trusting. That was how he'd gotten kidnapped in the first place. His response to his question about what he had to do to stay caught him off guard slightly, and he heasitated for a moment before letting out a sort of sigh and nod. It seemed too easy....like it would change as soon as he got comfortable. But he hadn't given sage a reason not to trust him yet, and he'd had plenty of opportunities to do so. So....he decided to trust his word for that, even if it seemed suspicious to him. He knew staying here and getting healthier would be better for him, but Casper was still in the forefront of his mind. Being set down on the bed sent a brief flicker of anger through him, though it quickly fixzled out again as he submitted to the gentle pushing of the other man, settling on the bed again, honestly glad to get off his feet. "I should stick to the diet. Casper would be pissed if I gain much weight...." He trailed off as he spoke, knowing how that sounded. At his comment about it being easy to carry him that far, he bit the side of his cheek slightly. He hadn't expected him to be that strong, even if he was much lighter than he should have been. "Well....thanks. I guess," he murmured after a moment, just shifting to lean against the wall behind him heavily. He lowered his gaze to his body as Aziel started listing off what injuries he'd gained from the incident. Nothing really surprised him, and he just found himself nodding along with a soft hum. When he heasitated though, worry spiked through him, and he looked back over at him. At the mention of being pregnant, he just stared at the man for a moment as his brain proceeded that information. Once it had, he felt the blood drain from his face slightly, a look of horror forming before quickly flashing through that, a more worried look, anger, and then a quiet acceptance of something he didn't necessarily want as he closed his eyes and shook his head with a sigh. "I was worried about that," he murmured softly. "Ran out of pills for a couple weeks....I guess Casper must have gotten lucky with the timing," he added. He didn't have much time to think more about it though, before a knock sounded at the door and the doctor scurried in, quickly checking vitals and a few other small things before hurrying out again. A brief pause, and then another man entered - he looked like a captain, or something along those lines. He threw a nervous glance at Aziel, immediately upset with himself for already becoming attached to the man. He barely knew him, after all. But he seemed much friendlier than the other man, who he found himself shrinking away from, instinctively balling himself up in the far corner of the bed.
