Ben gave a small shrug. "Well, I'm trying NOT to think about what we're going to do with this place." |

"I...don't know yet. I'm working on figuring it out. Planning on selling most of the yearlings and two year olds to training facilities and other ranches. I have a few people interested in full trailer loads so..." |

Ben nodded, then shook his head and sighed, putting his head in his hands. "I'm sorry. Ever since I got here things have been going downhill for you. It probably would've been better if I just never applied..." |

Head still in his hands, Ben said, "I just feel like I'm not doing enough to help you." |

She cupped his face gently, only kindness, understanding, and love in her eyes. "Baby, look at me. I love you. It's gonna be okay. You're the best thing that's ever happened to me." |

His gaze locked onto hers for a second before skidding away, shame and worry on his face. "I wish I knew how to fix everything, and I feel like I should. Being here isn't enough. You can't lose the ranch and I can't lose you, but I know I'll have to once summer's over..." He trailed off, thinking about college. He didn't particularly dislike it, but he didn't love it either. |
