Caden didn't even hang up the phone, just grabbed it and sprinted for a car, drifting out of the driveway before gunning it down the highway. The familiar flashing ligths appeared behing him, him ignoring them and continuing to the hospital. He sprinted in, eyes filled with dull hope as he jogged to her room before heading in, seeing a few doctors.

"She's stronger, well her heartbeat is. As always, no promises. We have her on painkillers with the slim chance she wakes. Even if she does, she's going to have a sort of future issue-though we don't believe so severe...." The doctor told him, his face blank as he spoke. "If she wakes, it will be in the next few days." As though accenting the doctor's words, Rose's heartbeat stuttered a bit before picking back up again

"That's enough for me to keep hoping." He says, taking his seat by her bed once more.

The doctor nodded and ushered everyone but the couple out. "Press that button if anything goes sideways." The doctor said sternly, him walking out after. Rose's heartbeat kapt steady, holding the promise of life

"Please just don't die on me." He murmered, pressing another kiss to her hand.

After a few days, color began to show in her skin again and the doctors became more hopeful. One midnight, Rose's eyes inched before fluttering open with a small groan of pain

Caden was dead asleep, face showing visible signs he'd been crying earlier.

Rose's hand twitched but she gasped in pain. Her body had been so still, she'd grown a bit thin but still wasn't hungry, her hair had grown a half inch, and her body ached

Caden frowned slightly, entering a nightmare. He had his head propped up by his fist, the other layed out beside it. He still remained dead asleep.
