Malakai Negri - Malakai nodded, the corners of his mouth almost turning up into a smile, but he quickly corrected himself, and didn't smile. Malakai couldn't remember the last time he smiled. That was one of the many things his father used to whip him for. He took the towels, feeling her hand brush against his, and every other thought left his mind. All he could think about was her as she moved around to get ready to go to the lake once again. He was a bit more relaxed today. Why, he didn't know. Despite his everlasting, hard, cold mask, his eyes were soft, his demeanor slackened, almost calm. "Ready to go?" he asked once she seemed to have everything in order, holding the towels under one arm, and extending his other hand out to her, for her to take. |

Camery Valatieri - Camery couldn't help but smile when she noticed Malakai's composure finally easing. He was always so serious, and she couldn't quite wrap her mind around it. He had a guarded nature, a wall he seemed unwilling to let down. All her other guards had a way of speaking to her, of treating her like... a person, a friend, even. But Malakai? He always seemed to hold himself apart, distant, even when they spent so much time together. It was a puzzle she couldn't quite solve. As they walked together, Camery glanced over at him, noticing that his usual stern expression had softened just a little. That was enough to make her feel like maybe she was getting through to him, even if just a little. She understood the weight of his responsibility, but he didn’t have to carry it alone. When he held out his hand, she hesitated for just a moment before taking it, her fingers curling around his with a sense of warmth. The walk to the lake wasn’t long, but once they arrived, the air was filled with the sweet scent of fresh grass and the cool breeze from the water. Camery barely even thought before she discarded her outer layer, eager to feel the water on her skin. Her energy was infectious, her excitement clear in the way she moved. Without a second thought, she plunged into the water, feeling the cool embrace of the lake engulf her. But just as quickly, she was climbing out again, drenched and laughing. "Colder than it was yesterday," Camery teased, wiping her hair from her face as she stood dripping by the water’s edge. There was a mischievous glint in her eye, and despite her dripping wet appearance, she looked as carefree and radiant as ever. The way her hair clung to her cheeks, and the water shimmered on her skin, her golden marking almost glowing in the sunlight. |

Malakai Negri - Malakai watched Camery dive into the water, and for once, he let himself slip, and he smiled. Just a little, but it was a smile. He noticed, but he didn't care to fix his mistake, it was just him and the princess, no risk at all... right? Kai picked up her dress she had thrown to the ground and folded it up on a nearby fallen tree, along with the towels. "We'll get used to it," he said with his back to her, taking off his shirt, folding it up, and exposing his muscles. Kai looked over his shoulder at her, standing at the edge of the lake in her underwear, dripping wet, and looking absolutely radiant. "It will also warm up later in the day," he added, turning away, and taking off his pants. Kai folded up everything and placed it on top of her dress in a neat pile. Malakai turned to her and the lake, now just in his boxers. He passed her, wading into the lake until he could no longer touch and had to tread water to keep his head up. "Coming in, Cam?" |

Camery Valatieri - Camery stood still for a moment, gathering her thoughts as she deftly pulled her wet hair up, keeping the dripping strands from falling into her face. She watched him, a smile tugging at her lips as he bent down to pick up her clothes. It was such a simple act—just picking up the garments she had carelessly left behind—but for some reason, it filled her chest with something unexpected. A warmth. A quiet joy. She couldn’t explain it, but there it was, and she found herself grinning at him, her heart light. But before she could hold onto the moment, he turned away, moving to pick up his own clothes. It didn’t take long for her gaze to be completely captured by the sight of him. The sunlight fell across his back, highlighting the muscles beneath his skin, casting shadows in places that made them appear even sharper, more defined. She hadn’t known what she expected to see—she hadn’t given it much thought at all—but it certainly wasn’t this. Her eyes lingered on the sharp lines etched into his back—scars, perhaps. She wondered where they had come from, what had caused them. Yet, she didn’t ask. Not yet. Not now. The sight of him smiling at her, something he hadn’t done in two months, made her hesitate. She didn’t want to ruin it. Before long, he turned back toward her, and she found herself caught off guard. She had to force her mouth closed, but the grin remained. He was unlike anyone she’d ever seen before—built in a way that made her heart race, though she couldn’t quite figure out why. Not that she’d seen many men shirtless. That thought brought a small, amused smile to her lips, though it barely had time to settle before he called her over. Without thinking, she dove into the water, embracing the cold with a sudden intensity, her face flushed from the mixture of both the chill and the blush creeping across her cheeks. |

Kai shook off the water from his hair before running a wet hand through it, slicking it back messily. He looked over at Camery again, she looked absolutely stunning. Her face flushed, hair pulled back in a ponytail, water droplets clinging onto her long, beautiful, eyelashes, wet skin gleaming in the sunlight, making her glow like the sun itself. Kai smiled at her. Not a grin or a big smile, just a small simple one. He could let himself be happy with her when they were alone, he could let himself have fun for once. "Does it still feel cold, or are you getting used to it?" |

Malakai Negri - Malakai shivered when she caressed along his shoulder blades. He was highly sensitive to touch there, as thats just around where his wings erupted from his back. His wings were even more sensitive, and thankfully they didn't appear during the day, but his back was highly sensitive. Whenever someone touched his wings or around that area of his back, he got a little... excited. He dropped his gaze to the water, focusing on not doing anything completely stupid. Kai took a few deep breaths, before turning to face her, his expression hard again, but with almost pleading eyes. "Princess... do not touch my back like that again..." he breathed out, trying desperately to keep his self control in check as he tried to shake off the feeling of her fingers tracing along his back. |

But when he turned to look at her, his eyes wide and almost pleading, her playful expression softened, replaced by a touch of guilt. She was getting used to the cold, or maybe the sun was heating the water more now. With a sudden flick of her fingers, she sent droplets of water splashing in his direction, a playful glint in her eyes. “Oh, so I’m not Cam anymore?” she teased, her voice light but laced with an undeniable flirtation, the soft chuckle escaping her lips as she regarded him with a mischievous gleam. She was leaning into the moment, her gaze lingering just long enough to let him know she was playing.

If wasn't that she made him uncomfortable, it was just his back was a spot that if someone touched, it was either a rare mistake or they were trying to get him to take them to bed, and it almost always worked. It was a Night Kingdom thing, it worked on all males of the Night Kingdom. Women, not so much, but definitely males. So when she did it, it took about all of his self control not to take her. Thankfully she stopped, or he probably would've, which would most definitely end badly. Kai smiled lightly at her, shaking off that little moment just a minute ago. He gave her a little playful splash back, "You're still Cam," he rolled his eyes. "But you are still my Princess that I need to watch over," he reminded her. |

If anything were going to happen, I think it would be me drowning. The only real danger here is you and the water."
