"Babe! He got a splinter!" She exclaimed, Malakai now crying |

"He fell on carpet?!" I asked, raising a brow at the whole thing. "How the. . ." |

"I don't know but we have to take him to the hospital wing!" She exclaimed, scooping up the baby |

"Kay it's a splinter, it cannot require the damn hospital." I noted, not believing it. |

"Look!" She said, showing Malakai's hand to Gale. There was a tiny, 1mm long splinter barely sticking into his thumb |

"Babe, it's a tiny prick, here, look," I mused, grabbing a pair of tweezers from my desk, pulling it out within the blink of an eye. "See? He's fine, all better now." |

Malakai had stopped crying now and Kayla set him down so he could play. She chewed her lip, watching him with a worried expression |

"He's fine, see?" I asked, prying a dagger handle out of his hand, glad the blade was knocked out. |
