Iris waited in agony for ten minutes. She was about to give up when Caden's message came through. -(Uptight :)) But I should have been more sensitive... Or maybe less sensitive... I don't know. I should've done something differently. But it's not your fault you took it the wrong way.- She sent the message then started thinking. She was right that it wasn't his fault that he'd taken it the way he did. She'd also reacted wrongly. But now she was reconsidering her previous assumption that this was Caden's fault. Because if she hadn't called him and unknowingly egged him on, he wouldn't have sped down the highway and been pulled over. Once she'd gotten it in her head that it was her fault, Iris couldn't get it out. She began pacing and almost crying again in guilt. |

-look it's both of our faults but more like 1% you and 99% me, wait now, 99.9% me 0.01% you. A lot less than that but I can't do that math in my head :) - He sent the text, Murphy darting over and jumping on him. "Now's not the time, bub." Caden explained, pushing the dog off and throwing one of his toys. |

Iris saw the text but was worried if she tried to type something, the wrong thing would come out. She spent about ten minutes calming herself, then finally was ready to reply. Even when she did, it seemed pretty pitiful to her. -I'm sorry. What can I do?- |

-Iris I promise you it's fine, and you've done all you need to, which is staying out of the trouble- He sent the text, running a hand through his hair as unease settled over him, the man getting a feeling that either their texts were about to become a flicker of flame or a raging wildfire. |

Iris appreciated his thoughtfulness but wouldn't accept it. -I have to do something. Sitting idle while you're dealing with it is impossible, and I'd rather be doing something to help you than literally crying from worry.- Iris didn't mean to say that last part about crying, but hey, it was true. |

-Iris i'm not going through anything, you're thinking the wrong thing- He typed the text out and sent it, utterly confused what she meant by 'doing something to help' when literally there was nothing she could do. Caden set the phone down face first and waited. |

-you might be, soon- Was all Iris said. She then set the phone down and held her face in her hands. She was desperately trying to hold back her frustration, worry, and guilt, and it was piling up into a mile-high heap. Eventually the weight would topple it, and Iris didn't want Caden to be in its path. |

-Right right, because you know every single detail that happened, right, right.- Caden snapped back, honestly starting to get a smidge mad at her worry for something she didn't need to get into. -There's no way they can even find me, my plate doesn't show up on cameras, as I said.- |

Iris couldn't ignore the vibration from her phone. She saw the texts and decided she had two options: One was to put the phone down before she could type anything angry or unfeeling, or she could tell Caden exactly what she was thinking. Unfortunately, her frustrated mind immediately went with the latter. -Ever heard of security cameras and face identification?- |

- I had a helmet on and a visor, my face was completely covered up. Iris you don't know what you're talking about. - Caden rolled his eyes at the message, wanting to throw the phone at the wall over and over again until it broke, yet instead he stood, walking over to his liquor cabinet but oh yeah, she didn't want him drinking. Saints above, could a man take care of his problems in a way which every single time worked? What next? He wasn't allowed to go outside because he'd be 'arrested' or, or better yet 'captured'. Yeah, that sounded like something she'd say. Why was he even botherin- Something shattered. He blinked out of his trance. His palm stung, the skin feeling wet as something trailed down his forearm. The man looked down, seeing the neck on a bottle of whiskey now shattered to pieces, some lodged in his hand. Caden cursed under his breath, walking to the sink and running his hand over water before pulling it away and pulling the pieces of glass free. |
