Mari smiled at his little comment.. it really was sweet. She was always happy when he said things like that... that he was happy to spend time with her and her family, that whatever she did made him happy. She already knew all that, but it just seemed a little bit more... real, she supposed, when he said it out loud. It was nice. She grabbed everything he wanted and needed, including the baby before following him down. She was curious to see what he'd come up with for their house. The art didn't have to be for the house, however that would be nice. It just meant they didn't have to pay for loads of decorations if he could do it... it would be more personal, too, she supposed. They were soon down at the yard, and she sat patiently with Silas while his father went to get Chaos in.

Sage bounced along down to the stables, though after a few moments, he did slow down a bit in order to stay with his family. He sort of set all the art stuff down in a place where he could easily do some art, and scrambled off to go get his horse. The stallion met him at the gate with a nicker, as always, and Sage was more than happy when the bridle fit the stallion wonderfully after some slight adjustments. He looked good too...the silver went well with the black coat of the horse. "You handsome stud you," he cooed to the horse, who tossed his head and snorted as if agreeing with him. He chuckled and patted the horse and then led him over to where his family was waiting. "Ta da," he giggled lightly, sort of showing off the stallion a bit before plopping down next to Mari happily, Chaos sort of just hovering next to him for a moment before laying down with a grunt next to them all and starting to graze.

Mari sat and played with Silas for a little whole, a bit of smiled across her face when she heard Sage wandering around the corner, leading Chaos out. She grinned and gave a quiet little clap of delight to the boy when she saw the halter on the stallion. "Oh, it looks good!" She chriped when he flipped down next to her, and moved to rest her head on his shoulder with a bit of a smile. All the paint was set up for him if she was wanting to use it... he didn't have to, not if he wanted to relax a little bit... but she thought he might like it.

Sage nodded happily at her comments and was more than happy to curl up with the girl for a bit before reaching for the paints happily. "what should I make," he mused lightly. "I have too many ideas....I don't know where to start," he groaned, though with a bit of amusement lacing his voice. He pouted for a moment before looking over at Mari. "What room are we doing next? The living room? Or maybe the bedroom?" He cocked his head in thought before huffing out a breath. There were so many things he wanted to do, and a lot of them he wanted to surprise Mari with, like the finished kitchen, and some other decorations and whatnot. Even so, he had so many things he wanted to do, he didn't know where to start. Eventually he gave you trying to pick one and looked over at Mari with a huff. "I can't decide what to start with," he whined. "At least give me a room," he chuckled lightly.

Mari hummed softly to the boy before chuckling. "Well, whatever you want," she mused lightly. "Maybe like a field or something... something peaceful. We can put it in the bedroom," she chuckled. She smiled at his seeming annoyance and whining, but shook her head. "Well, the bedroom. Start there, and see what you think... just something that'll send us to sleep," she teased him lightly. "Maybe blues and yellows. That'd be nice," she told the boy with a happy smile. She didn't care... she just liked him being so happy about his artwork.

Sage huffed out a light breath in thought and sort of stared over at all his art stuff, thinking for a moment and then nodded in thought after listening to her suggestion. "I'm gonna need a bigger canvas," he mused, sort of jumping up to go rummage around in the barn for a moment before dragging out a large bit of wood that he'd found a while back. It would fit perfectly over the bed, and it was a nice color too. He propped it up against the side of the barn near Mari and Silas, and of course, Chaos. He dragged all his paints and stuff over happily, and started painting a nice, calm picture that was the barn and fields at sunset. The barn and fields were sort of off in the distance in the painting, the sun casting golden light over the grasses and barn roof, and the horses in the fields were happily grazing in the paddocks.

Mari smiled gently as she watched him start his drawing... she really was happy that he had a hobby he loved so much, and that it was something that he'd kept on doing even now that he was out of the ward. It had been a coping mechanism for a while... something he could let all of this pain and hurt out with. But it had been hurting him, too. As she watched him paint, she was reminded of the blisters he used to acquire by never really stopping. There were scars on his fingers where he'd picked at them, and her heart swelled at the memory. She should have stopped him, but she knew that would make it worse. She knew that if she stopped him, he'd start scratching, and that would cause more issues than anything. It was nice to see him doing it just because he liked it... not to hurt himself, or to upset anyone else. She sat in the field with baby Silas and Sage for a little while before eventually sighing and setting the child down, who was asleep against the tree quietly... she wouldn't be long, and he was more than safe. She crawled over before wrapping her arms tightly around Sages sides, her head resting on his shoulder from behind. "It looks perfect," she murmured quiely. He wasn't done, not by a long shot, but it was, as she said, absolutely perfect so far.

Sage was more than happy to just paint with his family there beside him. It was all the things he loved...art, his family, chaos, and being outdoors in beautiful weather...all in one place at the same time. He giggled lightly when Mari wrapped herself around him and glanced over at her before looking back at the painting again and continuing to paint, adding on some of the finer details at this point. "I'm not done," he chuckled, but she knew that....it was just sort of a modest response to her compliment. His face light up though, at her praise, as it always did, and it seemed like his heart swelled up happily. Chaos had shifted over slightly so he was grazing near Silas, in a somewhat protective action at some point. Maybe he just sensed it was Sage's, and it was alive, and the two people had left so he was watching the boy. Either way, it was a rather cute sight. Silas had sort of shifted in his sleep and was laying on the stallions side, and sage couldn't help but chuckle when he noticed the two of them laying there together.

Mari shook her head at him before smiling gently. "It doesn't have to be done to look good," she told him with a small smile before going in to peck the sort of his neck. She soon went back over to grab their child, because while Chaos was one of the only horses that she trusted, she also knew he was a lot bigger than little Silas and could very easily hurt him without meaning to. She smiled softly down at the boy as she spoke to her husband. "I was thinking we drop him off at the doctors later and we go out for dinner? Might be nice," she suggested with a bit of a shrug and a chuckle.

Sage chuckled lightly and grinned over at her, a light giggle coming from his mouth at her peck. When Mari left, he focused on painting again, and when she grabbed the child, chaos lifted his head to snuffle at her, as if asking for some love himself. Sage snickered at the horse, shaking his head in amusement before continuing to paint. The horse was really a big dog...and it was pretty amusing. He hummed lightly at her suggestion and nodded happily. "I'd like that," he chirped. "And so would the doctor, I think, he admitted with a chuckle." Then his eyes light up. "We can drop this off at the house on the way over, it'll be done by then and it'll be out of the way," he suggested happily.
