Mari looked over at him with furrowed brows. She just kind of shrugged at him after a moment or two before shaking her head. "Maybe... I dunno... " Mari looked over at him with pursed lips. "But it's s good thing, right? We wanted this," she murmured quiely. She did feel very similar to when she'd been pregnant last time... but it was lesser now... not so bad. She wanted to be thrilled, but for some reason she was just more nervous than anything.

Sage cocked his head slightly at her first comment though his shoulders relaxed a bit when she said it was a good thing. Well, it was a question...but she wanted it to be good, at the very least. He hummed lightly and nodded, a soft smile crossing his face. "It is," he hummed. "and we did. We do," he added. Then he took a deep breath and heaved out a sigh. "well, we'll be living in our house by then, so we'll be settled and whatnot," he pointed out. "And we can save up more if we really have to, but considering we saved a lot on the honeymoon, I think we'll be alright," he chirped. Then he wrapped his arms around her again. "Try to not be so worried," he hummed gently. He was sort of talking to himself again, hoping nothing would go wrong.

Mari nodded and went to wrap her arms tightly around his sides. "I know... and this should be a good thing. It's just a bit scary," she murmured quietly to the bit. "Last time was hard - for the both of us, and it nearly went so wrong," Mari murmured quiely before looking over to him. "I don't want for you to get bored of it. And I really don't want you to be left alone if anything does go wrong," she whispered quietly. Her eyes then widened. "Sage, we were drinking last night - what if-" she trailed off with furrowed brows as she looked up at him.

Sage hummed in agreement but pecked her on the side of the head in response to her comments. "I know," he murmured. "But we'll be alright....if we have to take a day and just relax, we will....we have plenty of money saved up to cover a day or two off work," he pointed out. "Besides, the house will be set up by the time you get too much bigger, and nothing wrong will go wrong, not like last time. We all know what to do now," he hummed. Then he wrinkled his nose. "My spot is standing in the corner while you scream your head off not able to help, but still," he chuckled lightly. He did feel a bit of panic in his chest when she recalled that they'd been drinking ...but he squashed it down and shook his head. "We had small glasses, and if you hadn't even realized you were pregnant, it can't be far enough along to harm anything," he told her, hoping he was right.

Mari furrowed her brows at him, but she supposed he was right. They'd get through all of this. They got through everything else. And... hell another baby. Another child, of theirs, that they would have created together. She was so, so thrilled. Even if it didn't seem that way right then... she was just procsssing everything for the time being, but she'd be excited about it later. As excited as she could be. She knew it would be painful, and uncomfortable, and she'd probably not particularly like any moment of it, but it would be worth it in the end. Or, she hoped so. She just didn't want anything to go wrong. And they may not get another chance, so she didn't want to just put it off. She sighed and quietly nodded at his next comment. He was right, she supposed... they hadn't had much to drink. "I'll try not to scream so much this time," she mused quietly, though she couldn't really promise that one.

Sage squeezed the girl gently, eyes glittering now that the idea of actually having another child in there, growing, and here and alive settled in a bit more. He really was so, so excited. He'd figured if it happened at all, it would take a while to have it happen. He supposed they'd just gotten very, very lucky about it. But this was good ...the child would be almost the same age as Silas, so they'd have a playmate. "I can't wait to watch them play together," he murmured. "having a sibling is something special." He looked down at Silas, who was looking up at him with big old eyes, clearly interested in what they were saying. "what do you think, Silas," he cooed. "Do you think it's a boy or a girl," he cooed at the boy, getting a wide grin and squeal of laughter from his son. He kissed the baby on the head and smiled over at Mari. "No, scream all you want," he mused. "It looked like quite the time. I certainly wouldn't want to do it," he chuckled. "Can you see me pushing something that big out of my body," he joked, shaking his head. He pecked her on the side of her head lightly. "But can we go eat? I don't mind talking and eating, but I'm starving," he half whined.

Mari hummed gently to the boy as she went to look at Silas with a soft smile. "I know," she murmured quietly before shaking her head. "But don't get too excited, please," she whispered to the boy after a moment or two. "I might not be pregnant... and I don't want you to be disappointed if I'm not," she then told him with a sigh. After a little bit though, she grinned and moved to peck his lips. "You can get a little excited though," she chuckled happily after a moment or two. She was excited. Very, very excited. Now that she'd gotten over her nerves. She wrinkled her nose a little bit. "You know what, we've gone over this. You're really not built for babies," she chuckled lightly. "Yeah, let's go drop Sage off and we can go chat," she hummed lightly.

Sage chuckled lightly at her comments and pecked her cheek. "Don't worry, if you're not we'll just keep trying. It'll happen eventually," he chirped. He was definitely excited about it all....and it was honestly probably too much excitement, but hey, there wasn't much doubt about it all. He snorted out a laugh and nodded when she said he wasn't built for babies and nodded. "nope, I think I would break," he chuckled lightly. He nodded in response and took her hand as they wandered back to their room and then over to the kitchen to eat. The next few months passed rather quickly, between Silas and work and Mari, and training mystery and worked with chaos, and the house, they were kept busy enough. Maris birthday was the next day, and he made up his mind to stop by while she thought he was working tonight, to finish up the last few things to the house so he could surprise her tomorrow with a finished house....he was excited about it, he really was.

Mari smiled lightly after a moment or two. She hoped he was right... and she really hoped she was pregnant with his child. She hoped that she'd get that chance. It was exciting. To have that perfect little family of theirs. The next few months, like she had expected, had just gotten worse. It was as bad as when she was pregnant with Silas... but she hadnt been aware of her pregnancy with him, so she couldn't really stop herself from feeling so ill. But this time was better... still hard, and a bit rougher mentally, and she hadn't actually gotten out of bed since she'd gone in maternity leave, she just couldn't make herself do it.

Sage had bustled around the house for a bit, finishing things up, before heading back to the barn and gathering all her presents and then stuffing them in the sack he'd used to carry them around in order to bring them back to their room. He slipped in quietly, and set the sack down in the corner before going over to sit down next to Mari with a sigh. "how you feeling," he murmured, though he expected the same answer as it had been for the past few weeks. She hadn't left the bed in a while...hopefully, he could convince her to at least come to the house for her birthday. Birthdays were supposed to be fun, not spent laying in bed. If she really felt bad enough not to open gifts, that was alright, but he did hope she'd feel better. "Have yout aken your medicine," he asked. The doctor had given her pills to help, but he didn't know if she'd ever actually used them. He hated seeing her like this though, he really did.
