"You're stronger..." she said giving a small smirk "I may have bent the rules a little... as you said i'm older and wiser..." she said pressing her thumb to the round glass jewel on the ring the ring and crystal transforming into a sythe... "If I die whoever poesses the Sythe is the new death." she told him. "Besides... you'll get more use out of it... like you said i'm a long distance fighter..."

Sage was definitely very surprised when the ring transformed in his hand, though luckily he didn't drop it on their feet. "I guess you're right. Though, I'll probably fashion it to turn into a dagger if I ever actually use it," he muttered, thinking out loud. A dagger was what he preferred, though the scythe was a pretty deadly weapon.

Maxine stared in amazement... She remembered when she first saw that thing... It was just after the first little spark ignighted between them... That seemed like ages ago. Roxie chuckled "Well you have it... Make it what you want it to be." She shrugged getting off the couch "Say your goodbyes quickly... We'll go back to the rift to plan our strategy..." She said heading for the door to give Max and Sage a minute to say goodbye. When she left Max looked at Sage "This is actually happening..." She murmured softly lowering her head she was trying to be brave but it wasn't working well despite knowing he'd come back to her she was still scared. "I love you so much..." She said as Charlie cooed and squirmed happily completely oblivious to what was happening.

Sage took a deep breath and stared at the ring in his hand. "Yeah..." He whispered, not really knowing what to say. He just wrapped his arms around Max tightly, not wanting to let go. He wanted to stay here, with her and Charlie....but more than anything he wanted them to be safe. And while going off to war seemed like the worst thing in the world, he knew it was the only way to really protect them. "I love you too, Max. I'll come back, I promise." He'd regenerate, it might take a while, but he would come back. He put Max's hand on the collar around his neck with a small smile. "Were bound to eachother. You can't get rid of me forever." He reached over and put a finger against the side of Charlie's cheek lightly, and she cooked and grabbed it. "Take care, kiddo," he told her before gently taking his finger back. He looked over at Max and kissed her before walking outside and coming to a stop next to Roxie, anger smoldering in his eyes now. "Let's go kill some demons," he hissed.

Max nodded "I know..." she choked before clearing her throat and gave him a hard stare "Go kick some demon ass baby." Max said kissing him passionately before she let him go Charlie cooing as Max grabbed her hand so she could 'wave' at her father. Roxie nodded "Absolutely..." she said. With a wave of her hand the pair of them were around a table in the rift again "According to my spy they have 30 thousand demons on their side... we have 50 thousand... but we're only using 20 thousand and keeping the rest in reserve... we need to fight with brain not brawn..." Roxie pointed out.

Sage blew his hair out of his eyes and tapped his fingers against the table, thinking. "We need a plan they won't be expecting. Hit them in more than one spot. If they have the numbers we need to hit from multiple spots and surprise them." He thought for a moment longer before leaning forward and looking at the mini battlefield on the table. He tapped where the army was heading. "They're coming here, we already know that. Let me take five thousand troops to meet them headon. Then appoint others to attack them from the sides and behind," he suggested. "You'd be somewhere close, to back up my five thousand if we need it."

Roxie thought for a moment nodding in approval before another thought rose in her mind "What if we made this place into a trap?" She suggested glancing around to the hallways that surrounded the room "I could create an illusion that'll draw them in and then we could box as many of them in here as we can..." She said "At least then there'll be a few thousand pieces off the chess board..." She said "Then..." She thought for a moment "We can come from another direction like you said and handle whoever didn't get trapped?" She suggested "We can use some magic to transform a few thousand into harmless creatures too..." She pointed out.

Sage thought for a moment and nodded. "If we had our demons with the strongest magic come from every angle, we could make a box around them and do the full frontal assult." He shrugged. "They have the numbers, so we need the surprise. I think it would be better to just attack and get it done, take thousands off the board, and then use the box for the rest so they can't back up or flee. It's surrender or die." He made a face. "Although we'd most likely kill them anyway," he admitted.

|
Roxie thought for a moment before looking at him nodding "I still wanna set up some traps though... Like a hunter would with an animal..." She said "But yes... We likely would kill them all you know as well as I... Probably better then anyone that demons aren't the most trustworthy people in the world..." She admitted with a small sheepish chuckle.

Sage grunted in agreement. "It's settled then. We send out some demons who specialize in trapping things to mar the enemy's progress for two days. At dawn on that third day, we attack." He was confident in their plan, but also knew this war wasn't likely going to end in one battle. "I should call Max and tell her when this is all heppening...she shouldn't go out the day of the battle," he muttered, standing up and waving his phone in the air. "I won't tell her too much...i don't want anyone to try and get information out of her."
