Ahw, Yeahh) Mari did feel the slight peck, but truthfully couldn't do a lot about it. It was a sweet gesture, but she was so, so exhausted still... moving back into the house seemed like such an effort. Though, about an hour later, a small knock at the door was made, then in walked Silas and her mother. The woman looked around for a moment, then spotted the two on the couch, obviously fast asleep. She quickly stopped Silas from running to his parents, deciding they must have been exhausted... so instead wandered off to put some tea on for them, along with some cakes of the sort, just to entertain Silas. Mari soon started to wake up a little, and kind of sat up, smiling when she saw her mother. "Hey honey," the older woman murmured softly, seeing that Sage was still sleep. "Hi ma," Mari replied tiredly before settling back down on Sages lap, not really having it in her to wake up much more.

Sage hadn't noticed when her mom had knocked or come in...he admittedly had fallen into a very deep sleep a while back. He hadn't been sleeping well the past month or so at least ...and it wasn't likely to change. But he was tired, and it was maybe an hour later by the time he finally stirred. When he noticed Edith there, he sort of blinked over at her as he tried to collect his thoughts before cursing under his breath and making a move to get up and get whatever she wanted or need or.... whatever.

Mari settled back on Sages lap, but soon enough got moved when he started to shift. She kind of groaned... her mother was there, but the woman would know they would be exhausted, so she wouldn't mind waiting a little bit longer for the two of them. "Sage stop," she complained, but soon enough he was up and bustling around, not that he actually needed to do much... Edith was already helping herself to tea and making some muffins. She chuckled at his curses, and shook her head at her son in law. "Don't worry yourself. I can sort myself out while you wake up a bit more," she chuckled gently.

Sage knew the woman was perfectly capable of taking care of herself, but she was still his mother in law, and a guest in his house, and he felt kind of bad about being out cold when she got here. He patted Maris arm apologeticly when she complained, though soon enough Edith had shooed him back to the couch, where he slid right back under Maris head. Silas had joined them by then, and was happily bouncing next to them, holding his hand and talking a steady stream of babbling words about his time at his grandmother's. Sage sort of just did the occasional nod and tired question, not really listening fully to what the boy was saying, but trying to entertain the boy. He had missed him.

Mari smiled over at the boy when he came back, but kind of sat up a bit so that she could greet her mother properly... the woman seemed excited. Well, her newest granddaughter was in the house, albeit asleep. She smiled when she saw Silas hopping about, trying to tell them about his time, but still not really having enough of a vocabulary to do so without making noises to describe things. "Was he good?" She asked her mother lightly, knowing the child wouldn't really be anything other then... well, perfect.

Sage had sort of just slumped against the end of the couch, half heatedly paying some slight attention to Silas while still half listening to Mari and Edith. And also keeping an eye and ear out for Lizzie, since she'd be waking up any moment now...they'd all been asleep for a while. He was tired, but he was incredibly excited to show the little girl off to the older woman. He nodded in response to Mari comment and cocked his head slightly, looking over to Edith for an answer as Silas crawled into his lap and started bouncing there. He reached to hold the little boys hand so he wouldn't fall backwards off the couch, trying to pay attention to everything and pretty much failing. He was glad to see Edith though, and the boy.

"Of course he was," the older woman replied happily as she sat down on the couch across from the two. "Amber, two," she added to the two youngsters happily. She looked at them for a little while before shrugging. "Where's my grand baby, hm?" She asked with an amused chuckle. Mari smiled over a the woman, then looked to Sage, who just seemed so worn out. She frowned a little at the boy before moving to peck his cheek. She was sore, still, but all the same she needed to to go and grab the newborn. "Well, she's asleep right now," she her mother with a small smile. "I'll have to go get her for you," she sfddd lightly.

Sage chuckled tiredly at Edith's comment, and then his face lit up when she mentioned the cat. He'd missed her too...she was curled up next to him by now, of course, but it was good to hear she was good while at her house. He snorted when Mari said she'd go get the baby though, and shook his head. "no, you're staying out right there," he hummed. "I'll go get the baby. You barely made it back in here from the carriage," he huffed. It was a bit of an exaggeration ..shed made it alright...but she was still very sore and he didn't want to push her too much. He handed Silas over at Mari, giving him a gentle warning to "not jump on momma," before getting up. Amber gave him a meow of complaint, but got up and trotted along next to him as he slid into Lizzie's room and picked up the still sleeping baby, bringing her back out to hand her off to Edith, a grin forming on his face even though he was exhausted.

Mari chuckled softly when Sage told her to stay put, and sat back in the couch happily. "Alright, alright," she huffed with a wrinkled nose. He was too good for her for his own good, sometimes... but she absolutely loved him so, so much. It probably made her love him more, if anything. Silas settled down so that he was leaning against her, which made her smile as she gently stoked her child's head. When Sage came though, with a sleepy smile on his face, she couldn't help but smile in return... their little girl put that smile on his face, and it warmed her heart in a way she couldn't quite explain. Her mother looked thrilled as the tiny child was placed into her arms, though... well, she was absolutely going to be happy with her first granddaughter... especially when she was as sweet as the one she had in her arms as of then.

Once Edith had the child in her arms, sage went to sit back down next to Mari and Silas. Amber hopped right up into his lap, and he scooped the cat up happily, pressing a kiss to her head, which resulted in rather loud purring from her as she rubbed her head against his chin happily. He had to blink hard to keep himself awake though...he really was exhausted. But it was also really nice to be here and to see Edith, and obviously to show off his baby girl. That was good too.
