Mari couldn't help her slight smile at his kiss, closing her eyes for a moment before meeting his happily. She had missed him... more than he'd ever know. He slept in the same bed as her, ate her food and lived in the same house... but she felt like he wasn't really there at all. She looked over his features for a moment... and as scarred and mangled as they were, he was still handsome. He was still so perfect in every way. She wasn't sure if he'd ever loose his limp, or get his sight back, but that didn't change a thing. "You're so handsome," she bubbled happily. The scenery helped a bit, too... it was so calm, so peaceful. Just the way she felt when she was with him. She moved to entwine her hand in his hair before pressing another soft kiss to his lips, then flopped down in her back... it was a quiet day so far. But it was good... it was what they both needed, really.

Sage chuckled slightly at Maris comment and rolled his eyes, going to response, but he was stopped by her kiss. He settled for a delighted sounding hum and curled up with her when she lay back down, more than happy to just be there together, where it was peaceful and calm and ...well, happy, he supposed. Her hand was still entwined in his hair, which had definitely grown out quite a bit during his time laying around, and he was certainly glad about it. It felt nice ...it always did. Then again, her touch was always nice. She'd never caused him any sort of physical pain, and he was certainly grateful for it. He sort of just moved to rest his head on her shoulder with a happy sigh, closing his eyes to sort of just...rest. take it all in, he supposed. Because things like this didn't come often with kids. And as much as he loved his babies, he loved some alone time with Mari too. It made it seem almost like it was when they were first together, or newlyweds.

Mari smiled to him when he rested his head on her, kind of turning to curl her legs into him, holding his head in a sort of odd side hug kinda deal. She just wanted to sit with him, she supposed. It sounded odd, but she wanted some attention... to be able to wrap herself around him, just have him to herself for a while. She loved their children, and they were absolutely perfect... but quiet time was nice too. "Ugh, we're getting old babe," she mused lightly. They weren't really... not yet... but it was amusing to think about. How she could be so content with the quiet... she used to hate it. And sometimes she still did, but it was much, much lesser now.

Sage hummed lightly when she wrapped herself around him, and then chuckled at her comment. "I certainly feel old," he noted with amusement. To be completely fair, he'd definitely never assumed he'd actually live to be this old ...and he knew he was still rather young, but it did seem like they were getting older quickly. And he supposed they were...time seemed to just fly by. Heck, it seemed like just yesterday that Silas was still a new baby. And now he was almost four years old. It was crazy really. "But you're still as pretty as ever," he hummed lightly, unable to resist the slight flirt. "now you're petty and wise," he chuckled lightly.

Mari chuckled at his first comment, and kind of nodded her head. "You look old too," she joked softly before pecking the top of his head happily. "Still hot though," she hummed softly to the boy. She couldn't help her slight blush at his comments, and gave him a pretty big grin. "I get to be wise now, too??" She asked with a chuckle. She jently patted his side before giving a smile. "You are lucky, huh?" She asked with a happy sounding chuckle. It was safe to say she was feeling a bit better compared to that morning... she really was just having a rough time of it, with everything going on around them.

Sage chuckled lightly at her comment and then felt his face heat up slightly at her second comment. He should be used to her saying stuff like that by now, but he still blushed at the slightest thing. He hummed lightly and then nodded. "The luckiest," he chirped happily. "I'm the most lucky man alive." He did feel that way whenever Mari spoiled him or helped him out, or whenever he got to interact with her or the kids. He was feeling better than he was earlier already, and he hadn't even felt all that bad. Mari seemed more relaxed for sure though, so that was good.

Mari sat away from him after a moment or so, kind of looking up at him with a smile. "You're blushing!" She chirped happily... it was just as cute as it had been from the start... and he wouldn't be able to change her mind on that one. He was pretty bloody adorable. "So handsome," she added again happily before pressing a light kiss to his forehead. She turned to watch the river for a moment... it was pretty deep. At least up to her shoulders. The tide wasn't super strong, and it was really quite appealing, if she was honest.

Sage only felt his blush increase when Mari pointed it out. "Well now you're making it worse," he whined, giving her a pout. He huffed out a breath when she kissed him again, though he curled up happily anyway. He noted her gaze move to the river as she lay back down, and he cocked his head slightly. "you want to swim," he asked curiously. It did sound nice...though he had to admit he wasn't as confident in his abilities as before he'd lost half his sight. But the water did sound nice, and Mari seemed to think so too.

Mari looked over at Sage happily before shrugging. "I love it when you blush," she chirped happily. She looked back out at the river at his suggestion, then back to him with a grin. "Yes!" She chirped before unraveling herself from him and jumping up happily. She quickly stripped herself of her first layer before paddding over the the water, though she kind of ran straight in once her feet had hit the water, letting herself flop back into the cold happily. She didn't know if Sage would come in... but she hoped so... but he might be a bit too sore still. She soon reappeared from the the water and looked back at him with a massive grin across her face as she slicked her hair back and out of her face.

Sage huffed out a breath at her first comment, then chuckled at her other comment before watching her plow into the water with a grin. He was grinning too, watching her become just as excited as Silas did. "You looked exactly like your son for a bit there," he mused happily, taking his shirt and pants off as best he could, and any remaining bandages, before wading in after her slowly. He was definitely nervous about it all, since if he tripped over something he couldn't see, he wasn't sure what would happen. He also didn't know if it would drop off at any point, or... anything really. He hadn't gone in the lake too often. So he sort of just waded out until the water was up to his shoulders and stopped there. Edited at September 11, 2023 03:14 PM by NightClan
