Mari took a little while finishing everything up, but soon went to tuck the kids into bed... which was honestly a much easier task now that they were a little older. She pressed a light kiss to their heads before heading back to their room to get changed and showered... it was admittedly a very quick shower as she just wanted to get to bed. She got changed before giving a little tidy up of the room before flopping down in bed with a soft huff of air. She couldn't quite tell if Sage was asleep or not, since he was facing the wall, but soon enough curled up into his back and rested a gentle arm over his side before drifting off into a fairly comfortable sleep.

Sage wasn't asleep yet....all he could manage to do was stare at the wall. Though, he'd pretended to be asleep when Mari crept in, not really wanting to talk in fear of her figuring out something was wrong. She'd gone to sleep quickly enough, which was good....though the guilt completely swamped him when she curled up around him. He sort of just stared at the wall until around two in the morning, when he finally passed out, unable to keep his eyes open any longer. The dreams came swiftly though, and woke him not even half an hour later. They weren't much different than usual, except everything was more ..vivid. more like real life. And Mari was in them this time, yelling and throwing hands. He practically practically fell out of the bed and scrambled into the bathroom again, sliding down in the same way as before, curling up and shaking. What was wrong with him? It wasn't like this hadnt happened before. How could guilt make him so bad off? But he couldn't tell Mari, could he? The dreams had played out his worst fears...that Mari would get mad, kick him out, hit him. The part of his brain that still had sense knew she'd wouldn't hit him or kick him out or anything. But...she could very well get mad at him. And what then? And sort of just squeezed his eyes shut, trying desperately to stay quiet and not wake her.

Mari didn't really notice his leaving, other than the the slight warmth moving away, she just sort of shifted and curled up a little bit more before getting back to rest. She slept through most of the night until around eight the next morning... Sage wasn't there, but it wasn't exactly unusual for him to be out doing the horses early in the morning. She sighed and crawled out of bed, quickly getting changed and going to get some breakfast on for everyone. She sort of hummed a little tune as she did so, and eventually Silas came down to help her... well, he was sort of trying to eat the food as she made it, but it did bring a little smile to her face regardless. Liz was still sound asleep, though... she probably got that while I don't want to get up thing from her father, which she couldn't help but think was sweet.

Sage had stayed curled up in the bathroom until maybe four or five in the morning....then his behind had started to hurt from sitting there, and he wasn't going to fall back asleep, he sighed and just slipped out to the barn. Mari hadn't found him yet, anyway, so he may as well just head out there. He needed to get his mind on something else anyway. It was sort of a mindless task though, to take care of the horses now. He mostly just fed them and then sat around for a while until after breakfast was done, since he really didn't want to eat. Soon enough though, he wandered back over into the house.

Mari made everything up after a little bit, eventually making a big platter on the table, with fruits and tarts and scones and the likes... she sat patiently for Sage after calling him in, but when he didn't come, she let out a soft breath and ate as much as she could do nothing was being wasted. Liz and Silas ate before running off to do whatever they did, and still no Sage, she she kind of bit onto her cheeks before letting out a heavy breath and went to tidy up. She saw Sage come in, though, and furrowed her brows. "Where were you?" She asked quietly after a moment or two.

Sage sort of winced when he heard Mari speak up, but eventually moved to hang his coat up and everything. "One of the horses was acting odd. I wanted to make sure it wasn't colic before I came back up to the house," he said after a moment, keeping his back to her before moving along to plop down on the couch with A sigh. (Bit short lol)

Mari furrowed her brows but eventually gave a small nod. "There's a little bit of food left over for you," she murmured before going to get whatever chores she had that day. Something seemed a little bit off about him.... she didn't quite know what. "Is everything okay?" She asked softly. "You haven't spoken much since yesterday," she added with a small sigh.

Sage nodded in response to her comment about food, humming a sort of thanks before I nodding in response to her question. "Guess I'm just tired," he said with a sort of shrug, moving to flop down on the couch. It's wasn't a complete lie ....he hadn't slept much at all through the night, so he did feel a bit better knowing he wasn't completely lying about it to her. "I'm alright," he said too, not wanting her to worry about him. He'd deal with it....he had before, and he would now.

Mari furrowed her brows but gave a small nod, not really pushing it too much. He got a bit down sometimes, she knew that, but it didn't normally take much to get him giggling again. She wandered over to press a light kiss to his lips before smiling gently. "Make sure you eat, okay? You didn't have much last night either," she hummed softly to him before going to fishing up her cleaning and going to clean the kids rooms.
