Mari had Silas helping out with the cleaning before going to get the kids ready for bed... it didn't take her long, so went to shower and get ready for bed before making the bed quickly and giving the place a little clean. It didn't take too long, so she soon enough went to find Sage when she realised he wasn't up stairs yet. She huffed out a little breath, more than really ready to get to bed... though when she saw Sage resting his head on his arms and gave a more concerned look. She wandered over and perched on the table. "Hunny, what's up?" She asked softly as she moved to toy with a few strands of his hair.

Sage hadn't realized how much time had gone by until he raised his head slightly to see Mari, who was already showered and ready for bed. He sort of sighed slightly and flopped his head back down again, letting her toy with his hair but ignoring the touch since it just brought back all the guilt full force. Or worse than that....he really wasn't sure. He sort of shrugged in response to her comment, not really sure how to respond. He couldn't just say what had happened...even if he only wanted to and wasn't so conflicted, he wasn't sure he could find the words to explain it all. "Just tired I guess," he mumbled after a moment.

Mari smiled gently to him after a moment and gave a small chuckle. "Well the bed is ready. I'll be up in a minute," she mused gently to the boy. "Go get ready, hm?" She asked him softly before taking a hand and leading him towards the stairs. She knew he was a lot better than he was when they first met... but he sometimes had off days. She believed the last two days to be some of those, so while she was worried, she also knew this should be over in the next few days, or she'd start getting worried again. More so than she already was. She couldn't do much more other than help him through these worse days.

Sage sort of huffed out a breath, more of a tired one than anything. He nodded in response to Mari's comments and followed her up the stairs slowly. "Alright," he hummed softly, moving to shower quickly adn then slide into bed with Mari, facing the wall again since he still felt like maybe he shouldn't be cuddling. Like he wasn't worthy of all of this right now. After all, he should he fought more. Should have...done something. ANything. Maybe if he'd been able to do more he wouldn't feel so guilty all the time. MAybe he could enjoy her love more, rather than just feel bad about it.

Mari offered a soft smile to him before going to get a glass of water for the each of them to clear up a little before padding upstairs to her bed. She slipped in next to the boy and sort of moved to bury her face into the back of his neck with a small huff of breath. He'd done the same thing last night... and she could t help but feel that maybe she'd been done something wrong. She didn't think there'd been a night when he wasn't cuddled up with her... well they were... but she was going the cuddling. "You're not gonna turn around?" She asked with a little, almost shy chuckle... it was a bit odd, like she was nervous to ask for a cuddle, but a little amusing all the same.

Sage hadn't thought much of his position before noting the girl's tone and shuffling around with a heavy breath, wrapping his arms around her gently. "Sorry," he said quietly. "I was thinking," he mused, closing his eyes and just trying to ignore the thoughts that were still flying around in his head. It was nice to cuddle, he supposed, when he could manage to not let all the thoughts yell at him and ruin it all. He sort of shoved that aside though, figuring that she'd obviously wanted him to turn around.

Mari sort of felt a wave of worrry wash over her when he let out a breath... . did he not want to cuddle? He normally did, and she wasn't too worried last night, but she was a little worried now for some reason it just made her want to hold onto him more. She wasn't sure how normal that was. She sort of went to bury her face into his chest and wrapped her arms around him a little tighter than normal. "About what," she whispered softly, her tone a little more questioning... she couldn't help but think she'd done something to upset him, which definitely scared her a little.

Sage sort of hummed in response to her comment, patting her back gently. "Nothing to worry about," he reassured her. "My brain just likes to make me feel shitty now and then," he huffed, curling in a bit tighter. It was nice to cuddle, as long as he could push the guilt away enough to mostly ignore it. He didn't want to worry her....and he could tell she was getting worried. He didn't want that. Besides, he didn't want her upset with him, which was sort of why he hadn't told her everything yet. Part of him wanted to sob it all out to her....but the rest of him was so scared too hed probably never be able to do it. He didn't know. He just wanted everything to be alright....he couldn't imagine losing her now.

Mari nodded gently to the boy after a moment or two, and closed her eyes ever so slightly. She knew he struggled like this... a lot. She knew she just just had to put up with when he was like this... but there wasn't a reason for it. Nothing bad had happened, not like she knew of... but this sort of thing still happened. She thought that he'd gotten better, but she wasn't so sure... and if he didn't want to talk about it then she couldn't fix it at all. "Alright," she murmured softly before tucking her hands a little bit tighter around him.

Sage was rather thankful when the girl just seemed to accept that he wasn't feeling great and just curled up tighter. He buried his nose in her neck with a soft sigh, falling asleep rather quickly since he hadn't slept almost at all the night before. He woke with a jerk soon enough, and sort of moved to roll over onto his back with a sigh, running a hand over his face and glancing at the clock blearily. Eleven fourth three. It wasn't even midnight yet. He groaned quietly before moving to try and fall back asleep. When that didn't happen, he sighed and moved to get up, wandering over to just sit down at his desk and start drawing. It was at least something to do, to keep his mind off of everything. And he didn't want to wake Mari.
