Mari settled down after a bit, happy to eat and talk to her children. It was just nice. All of it. Or, it was until the kid in the corner started to cry. She sort of just shook her head and went to start cleaning up, but not before the kids ran outside to play. She soon went to scoop the kid up, assuming it was her turn to see to him... Sage had been up all night, after all. She sat in the living room with him before trying to get the kid to take the bottle... he'd definitely been more difficult than Silas and Liz when they were kids.

Sage sort of sighed when everything was cut off when the baby started to cry and Mari immediately moved to start cleaning everything up. He did feel kind of bad that she was doing so much extra work....but he didn't want to just toss the kid away. He huffed out a sort of breath before finishing cleaning up and then moving to plop down next to Mari, where she was having an obviously rather hard time calming him down enough to take the bottle. Which was odd....she'd always been so good with the kids.

Mari sat there for a good ten minutes, desperately trying to get the child to latch onto the bottle, or at least stop crying, before shaking her head and handing him to Sage when the wallowing had gotten a bit too much for her to handle. She never liked hearing the children crying... it hurt in a way she couldn't quite understand. This, though, it just sort of angered her. She didn't know why, it really wasn't the kids fault, or Sages, but it just felt so forced. She hated it all. She sort of ran her hands over her face before going into the kitchen where it was a bit quieter, just sort of trying to block out the noise.

Sage sort of expected her to hand the baby over once he sat down, but he hadn't expected her to just....stomp off afterwards. He sighed slightly and then returned his focus to the baby, who by then he started flailing around too. He sighed and tried to get the little guy to latch on, which didn't take too long. He did wonder why the baby never seemed to want to come down shen Mari grabbed him, then he figured she didn't really like the baby, and it showed, so maybe the baby just didn't like her much either. He groaned slightly, closing his eyes and flopping his head back on the couch. This wasn't going to work, was it? He didn't think so...but he still just didn't know what he wanted to do. Once the baby was asleep though, he set him down and wandered off to find Mari. "You alright," he asked softly.

Mari tried to busy herself in the kitchen, really just feeling awful about the whole thing. She didn't want to be upset at a literal baby, but... she didn't know. It really just made her hurt. She couldn't even settle the baby down much. She didn't like the whole situation, but she was trying. This was Sages kid, and she knew that if the positions had been reversed, she'd want to keep the baby. So she didn't want to force Sage to turn it away. Especially when this wasn't at all either of their fault. She jumped a little at the sound of his voice, but glanced behind her before sort of nodding her head. "Yeah, of course," she murmured to him, still busying herself with washing up.

Sage sort of sighed and sat down on the counter next to her, watching her work. "You're stress cleaning," he mused. "I know you well enough by now to know you're not a very happy camper at the moment," he half chided her, though it was of course in a gentle manner. He didn't want to upset her....but he couldn't help with anything if she didn't tell him what was wrong. He wasn't always the best at knowing what to say or do in response to something....but he could try. And she knew he wanted her happy. He wanted all of them to be happy. That was the reason he worked as hard as he did....it really was all for them. So if she wasn't right, or upset with something....he wanted to know. He wanted to fix it if he could.

The girl glanced behind her for a moment before giving a small chuckle. "I'm always cleaning," she argued before sighing and going to wring her cloth. "It's not that I'm not happy," she then added, kind of giving a little chuckle, sort of shaking her head and then going to finish up with her washing. Her small smile sort of disappeared after a moment of quiet before shaking her head again. "I was just thinking, what are you leaning on doing with the baby?" She asked, sort of slowing down for a moment before biting the bottom of her lip carefully. "We didn't plan on having another kid at all," she then added.

Sage chuckled slightly and shrugged. "true," he mused. "But there's a certain... aggressiveness to it when you're not liking something or are worried about something. Or frustrated," he pointed out. "It's rather cute, though I'd rather you not be frustrated," he mused, a slight smile turning his mouth upwards. He sort of let out a slow breath when she asked what he was thinking of about the baby, letting his head flip back against the cabinets. "I don't know," he sighed, looking over at the baby. "I honestly haven't wanted to put much thought into it," he admitted with a shrug. Thinking about it brought back too many memories.... memories he didn't want to recall. "I know," he hummed. "He was definitely not planned," he snorted.

She just looked at him after a moment, just feeling a little bit... lost, she supposed. "I'm just doing my job babe," she murmured to him before sort of running a hand over her face. "I just feel awful about not liking having the baby here," she murmured to him, sort of shaking her head. "It's not your fault. Or his, I know that, but for some reason it just feels like it's all his fault that he's here," she then huffed and pouted quietly. "And I can't really do anything about it. Or with him. He just cries when I try and look after him, so really why bother?" She asked before turning to continue with her cleaning.
