Sage sort of watched the kids play around until he dimly noticed it was lunch time, so he called the kids in to eat something. They just grabbed some leftovers from the fridge, since he didn't trust himself to try and make anything at the moment. He then had to go down to the barn....which meant taking the kids and the baby down with him while he tried to work. It wasn't great, to say the least, and by the time he'd let all the horses loose and had taken care of them, he could barely drag himself back to the house and plop down on the chair again.

Mari sat with her mother for a while, really just happy to have a happy conversation. She eventually went to stalk home... not that she wanted to, though. It would make her feel a little bit off, she supposed. She didn't want to apologise for how she felt... but she also didn't think that Sage should apologise, either. So, when she came in the house, she sort of just walked straight upstairs and crawled into the shower... she wasn't sure about why she couldn't talk to him normally, apologies and go back to normal... but it was so strange.

Sage heard Mari storm back inside and go straight upstairs, and he connected the dots when he heard the water turn on. She apparently just didn't want to talk to him....which he had plenty of mixed emotions about, and none of them made him feel very good about himself. He soon enough went to usher the kids off to shower and then get to bed. By the time that had happened, he barely had the energy to close their doors behind him and slide down the wall onto the floor. He was just exhausted....physically and mentally, and he suddenly just felt very...alone. He sat there for a while, most of the night really, just...thinking.

Mari sort of climbed out of the shower after a while... a while too long. Her fingers had pruned, and her skin was red from where she had the hot water up. She sighed and moved to ger changed, but didn't get herself to bed until she'd wandered downstairs to grab herself some hot chocolate. She soon enough got herself settled, though... she was uneasy, but the quiet was peaceful all the same. Her sleep was deep... dreamless, and just seemed happy to finally be somewhere dark and warm.

Sage sort of just sat there through the night, staring absentmindedly at the shadows that slowly moved across the blank wall he was across from. he stirred slightly when the sun light started peeking through the window, sighing and running a tired hand down his face. He didn't move other than stretching his stiff legs out slightly before settling down again with a sigh. He should probably get up....but for whatever reason he just kept staring at the wall dully. (Short I'm out today)

Again, Mari seemed to sleep well into the morning. She didn't have the energy to get up. She really didn't want to cross Sage. He hadn't come to her to say anything, so surely that meant that he didn't want to talk to herZ plhsX she didn't want to make him any angrier at her. She didn't know what would happen if she pushed him too far. It felt bad... she knew he wasn't like his father, but she did know he had a tendency to get a bit... overly frustrated. She'd seen him hit people, and she didn't want to... what? Make him hit her? He wouldn't do that, would he? It sort of scared her.

Sage sort of stayed there for a while longer, waiting until it was about time for the kids to get up. It was only then that he moved, since he didn't want to worry them if they came out and saw him still sitting there the way he was. So, he moved stiffly to go back to the kitchen, though paused at the stairs and stared at their bedroom door for a moment before sighing and changing courses to force his stuff and cold body up the stairs again. He didn't know if she'd still be mad at him, but he couldn't take this anymore. He raised a hand to knock, but then he backed out and decided to just write her a note. He didn't want to wake her. So he moved to write out some form of apology, and after a moment of heasitation agreeing that keeping the baby won't work before slipping it under the door and moving back downstairs to practically collapse onto the kitchen table again.

Mari slept soundly for a long while, only really waking up when she heard the kids shouting outside. She sighed and forced herself up, her skin aching from the rather hot shower she'd had the night before. It felt like it was sticking to her own body... and it wa sort of uncomfortable thinking about it that way. She sort of looked at the little parchement paper on the floor, sort of picking up the note and readying through it carefully, eventually just shaking her head and opening the door to call Sage up... she didn't really want the kids knowing they'd argued like this. She didn't want him to apologise, either... he really hadn't done anything wrong.

Sage had sat at the table for a while until the kids had come out and forced himself to stay awake and help get them breakfast. They'd ran off to go play soon enough, and he collapsed on a chair again with a sort of grunt, his head flopping down onto his arms again. He dimly heard Maris voice, though it sort of just floated around his head and then left again....he didn't take anything in. He was just so tired...and he was stiff and sore and his head still hut like hell. He was freezing too, despite the warm weather, but he didn't make a move to do anything about...any of it. He sort of just sat there. Was it a good thing? Not really. Was he being smart? Definitely not. Did he care at all? Nope.

Mari sort of stood at the top of the stairs, waiting for the sound of Sage wandering up the stairs, but it never came. She sort of just scoffed and binned the note before wandering down the stairs to her some breakfast ready, sort of just ignoring Sage on the table. He couldn't try and give her an apology note then ignore her... well... that's exactly what he was doing. She made herself some toast, and sort of ate from a distance, watching her husband curiously... but he really wasn't going to say anything, so just disappeared upstairs again.
