Sage chuckled slightly when she moved to bury her head on his lap, but moved to wrap his arms around her as best he could, and sort of just moved to run his fingers through her hair after a moment. He wanted to ask what was wrong...but he'd done that already, and she hadn't responded well to it, so he bit his tongue and just stayed quiet. That seemed to be working best.

Mari sat there for a while, her eyes closed but rather than resting, still just thinking. She still felt awful, and while she was a bit mad and could definitely hold a grudge, Sage was trying his hardest to be sweet. When he buried his hand into her hair, though, she bit the insides of her cheek softly. "Sage I'm so sorry," she muttered quickly. She felt awful that he'd given up his own baby for her. And she hated that they were basically doing what his own mother had.

Sage was rather surprised when Mari spoke up, and glanced over down at her in surprise, moving his hand back to her hair. "For what," he asked, blinking slowly. He wasn't too sure what she was apologizing for ..they'd already apologized for the argument, so he wasn't sure what she still felt bad about. But it was obviously something, and that was probably the reason she still felt so bad. Though, he could see her face crashing even more so he shifted to pull her into his chest firmly. "There's nothing you need to be sorry for, babe," he murmured, just trying to making her feel better.

Mari furrowed her brows at him, just sort of shaking her head. She felt awful about everything. Sage had a rough few days after their argument, and he'd lost his baby and had to do evetehinf for himself, and it seemed to be her fault. All of it. She shook her head again, pursing her lips before finally speaking. "I'm sorry you gave up your baby," she whispered, letting herself bury her face into him. "And for being upset about everything," she whispered again, eventually moving to bury her face further into his chest.

Sage sort of let out a surprised chuckle in response to her comment before tightening his grip around her and placing a soft kiss on her head. "he didn't really seem like my baby," he said softly. "I never could have fully loved him," he added, shaking his head. "I made the decision to leave him with the doctor, and I don't really regret it," he promised with a shrug. "and I had it coming....I shouldny have gotten so irritated that you wanted an actual answer." He pecked her head lightly with a sigh. "I just want you to be happy."

Mari sighed and closed her eyes at his little peck befor eventually shaking her head. "I just feel so bad about it. We just did what his mother had done to him," she continued before letting out a small breath. They both knew they looking after the child would have torn them apart... it would have drained them mentally, too, but she still felt awful about it. So, so awful. She smiled lightly at his comment before sort of shaking her head. "I just didn't want you to do it because you felt like you had to," she added quietly.

Sage sort of took in a heavy breath and nodded in response to her comment. "I felt that way for a while too," he admitted. Then he shook his head. "But we're not doing the same thing she did....we did our best to care for him. And the way we can do that neat is by making sure he finds a good family who will love him the way he deserves," he mused after a moment. Then he smiled softly and shook his head in response to her comment. "I did it because I realized what would be best for our family," he murmured. "I'd have come to the same conclusion at some point....I just wish I could've made my mind up about it before we got so upset over it all," he sighed.

The girl just nodded quietly before shaking her head. It just didn't seem right, not one bit... and she couldn't get over it. They could go and see him every now and then, she supposed, if the new parents allowed it. But he was right. That child would have always been a reminder as to what happened with Sage, and they probably wouldn't of had very good will towards him because of it. She supposed it was the right thing to do.

Sage sighed again when Mari didn't respond..he could tell she still didn't feel great about it, but she did look like she felt a bit better about the whole thing. At least, she'd relaxed a little bit. He pecked the top of her head and squeezed her gently again, humming softly for a moment. "Don't worry too much about it, alright," he asked her, eyebrows pinching together slightly. "You're gonna work yourself to death stress cleaning of you keep up this pace," he added softly. He was worried....she was seeking out things to do. Getting up early and going to bed late...and not spending time with the family. She needed to elax a bit, lower her stress levels. That sort of thing. Maybe it was a good time to plan out their anniversary trip.
