In a secluded area stood a large and adored reserve that lacked the apex predators it desperately needed. It looks like a fanciful land, with prey galore in all the habitats. In Prairie and Forest alike there were many animals. However lovely it may be to watch all the prey live in peace, the land was suffering, overrun by herbivores. The humans, who'd been monitoring the area, decided to add wolves into the mix of animals. This time, bad idea. It was all fun and frolicking in the forests and fields of wildflowers with the joy of freedom, but they thought the land would be forgiving. They did not do well, the land fought back. The wolves died out to almost a fourth of what they were. Surviving on the edge of life, they struggled to learn, to thrive. They did not prosper, though whispers have said some survived. However, they are not the only canines of the reserve. It has been a few years and the land seems to be slowly dying, quicker as the prey's number increases. Despite the prey, the number of large predators wasn't growing. This was putting the humans on edge. Thus came the question they all were waiting for. "Shall we try again?" The project was put into action shortly thereafter. Wolves from around the area nearby were captured and prepared for the land, but nothing can mentally prepare an animal for this type of change. The humans released these wolves into the land with high and low hopes considering the last attempt to preserve the land were killed off almost completely within the first year. There was doubt, but humans are very optimistic... Now there are wolves released on each side of the land. Entrusted with the task of reproducing and thriving. Saving the land from overpopulation. All of these wolves were born with different backstories and skill sets that they will have to use to survive. Some of them will be weak and fail to cope, some will live as if they were native. But they'll be your story to tell, and how they'll find a way to survive is your choice. |

Trying an odd style since we're starting out without roles! It'll be a little confusing and changed later on most likely. None of these roles will be acted on immediately when the roleplay starts. You can gravitate toward these feelings after a bit in the roleplay or have prior experience if your wolf was from the wild but these wolves are going to be young and inexperienced. Expecially with the land. . Character List ⇓ . - ℘ - . Alphas There will be two for the new wolves, the older residents will probably live less organized, they to not have to be mates or siblings. If you choose this role you will not start out an Alpha, you will gradually be looked up to. [Two slots] -Res for Rem - ℘ Betas These will be the trusted right hands of the Alphas, basically a helpful best friend. You will not start out as a Beta. You will gradually become trusted by the Alphas. [One slot] - ℘ Scouts / Patrols These are the wolves who don't know how to hunt, prefer not to hunt, are bad at hunting or are unfit to hunt. These will typically be skinner and will become more observant. They will come to know the land very well. You will not start out a scout but you can gradually become one or will be deemed one. [Infinite slots] -Res for Rem - - - ℘ Hunters These will learn and excell at it. These typically are bulkier and stronger wolves. They will not be hunters and probably not good at it for a while. You'll be gradually adapted into this role. [Infinite slots] -Res for Rem - - - ℘ Native / Resident Wolves These must be five years old or older. They will have different views of the new wolves and they will know the land very well, they have gained their skills through hardship.
