Bred her today https://horseeden.com/horse.php?id=17695174
She appears to have a black chimera pattern, but she is a black SbSb. I'm so confused. Is this a woops or was she chimera with two black based horses and if that's the case, does that mean we have black horses with black chimera that we can't see? (they just look black?)
Thanks and sorry if ithis wasn't a bug ;) Edited at November 7, 2018 11:23 PM by 3 Bar Z

Black on black chimera is totally possible, since the pattern and colour of chimera you get is random :)

Is it 'totally' random - seems to me the color of chimera possible would still have to be based on the possible genes of the parents in the game - which would then considerably slim down the possibilities of the chimera - but I suppose that depends how chimera was coded into the game... Though, thus far I haven't seen the game produce any fabulously colored chimeras, just very basic colors... And I'm probably waaaayyyy over thinking the whole chimera thing now ;P Might have to go do a bit of reading on it...lol
I'm still looking for an official answer as to whether or not we can actually have horses in game that are chimera, but we wouldn't know because they would be the same color. (This had never occured to me before, since why would you add a neat feature and then make it unrecognizable?) Is that why chimera was not added to the gene testing and/or rarity like brindle is? Anywho - still just one of those great wonders of HEE ;) Edited at November 6, 2018 02:14 AM by 3 Bar Z

Homo Sabino can result in a fully white body, if i recall correctly. So the white would be the SbSb and the black is the chimera.

Lol yup - got that part - that why she appears white - and the only reason you can see this black chimera pattern on her .... thus my question - does the game allow for incognito chimera (black/black).

It is possible, I've seen plenty of bay/bay, black/black, and brown/brown chimeras. It is possible to see the chimera if there is a subtle shade difference or if the chimera covers up where a leg marking should be. Brindle only comes in black or white stripes I believe but there is such thing as black/black brindle :P

When we first got chimera I was hoping the chimera color would also be based on the parents' genes, like you said. But I'm 99% sure it isn't. I think it's random.
