Hi! So for some reason, I'm trying to hire a rider for my gelding.

For some reason, the website says: "Rider has been hired and assigned." But at the top of the screen, there's an error. I tried logging off and then logging back in but that hasn't fixed anything. Is this a normal bug or is this just happening to me?

I don't think it is a bug. You cannot assign riders to horses that are schoolmasters across the board. You're getting the notification because it's something that the game cannot do.

Why would you need to? Schoolmasters can't show anymore, and they're essentially useless except for giving extra training to riders.

Yeah, schoolmasters cannot show any more. Horses only show up to level 9, and level 10 is essentially retired. If you were hiring a rider for one, you would also need to hire a level 10 rider, and level 10 riders are also retired.
