So in the game we have SH and WB as two different breeds. But are there really a difference between the two?
I'm not a breeder myself. I did some riding as a child but there was hardly a question about a the breed. Most horses were just discribed as german warmblood. I know there are seveal german warmblood breeds like the Hanoverian, Wesphalian, Trakehner, Oldenburg, Holsteiner etc. All of them are used as sport horses too, so where's the difference?
I'm just kind of curious where the game draws the line between the two. I feel like neither Warmblood or Sport Horse is discribing a concrete breed...
If it's in the wrong forum I'm sorry. I'm not suggesting any changes on the game but was rather genuinely curious.

Are you asking about in RL or game-wise?

game-wise
RIDs or AAs for example are easy to understand, but aren't SH also warmbloods?

I'm not completely sure the reasonings, but I believe they intended WB to act as more of a specific breed, similarly to TB, AA, etc. I think this is reflected in the breeding, like for example with AA, to get AA foals you have to cross either AA x AA or AA x TB. The SH acts more like an wide "type", similarly to ISH. Again reflected in the breeding, ISH x anything = ISH. SH x anything = SH (if tall enough, if too short becomes PON). I hope this makes some sense. :)

Technically yes, as well as ISH/RID. And even TBs are allowed in WB breeding books. But in game, they are different.
Warmbloods technically aren't really even a breed. Theyre a type of horse, with a bunch of different registries. There ARE some breeds included in the registries, but they are closed book. A majority of the erkend registries are open
ISH/SH are basically just mixed breeds in the game, so a bit different than RL. Just consider everything its own breed in game, and you'll get the hang of it in no time. :D
