IÂ’m hoping just to get them more comfortable with people. They have been pasture pets for a while but all are sound. My fiancés parents pretty much just gave them to me last night saying they all need to be worked with anyways. I told them I wanted to buy a horse and she said that all three of the horses on the property were mine to do whatever with. I just kind of have to start from ground zero.

Will do! IÂ’m planning on getting a bareback pad for one of them since he doesnÂ’t seem to pick up cues very well. But all were ridden western with the mare being ridden English for a bit.

All three of them are skittish so IÂ’m going to start with groundwork and one of them was severely abused by a previous owners (covered in scars and has very specific triggers) who I am going to really just work with on her own terms.

Does anyone have any advice or suggestions for starting horses that havenÂ’t been under saddle in 5 years?

FInally got some of the lids in my jar collection painted, the pick jar lid is white with blue brin and the sauce jar is just plain black. I hold my money in the pickle jar so I'm gonna put a SpongeBob dollar on it.

Because when you have really dry lips, just daintily putting it on there isn't going to cut it lol

I use a massive combo of AD and SD. Although to be fair, I show my AD stock as if they are SD (ie. I dont enter D/XC/J every week, whatever they are green in they continue to show in)

AD riders all the way though, that helps with costs. Geldings who are SD trained will get into the higher levels quicker therefore making bigger bucks. Then, when they SM in the discipline, they are ready for the next. **Side note: I used to keep lv 10 Dressage horses and move them to XC but their heart is so low that they will always refuse even when they are winning - so I FR dressage lv 10 horses.

Lv 10 XC horses will make good jumpers, thennnn dressage.

Lv 10 J horses will make good xc, thennn dressage

Lv 10 will make a lovely FR ornament.

Alrighty, that makes sense, so things could be managed pretty well by training everyone in AD. But if I do have SD horses it is best to level them out in XC and jumping first before moving on to the dressage.

My best showers concerning their total profit are AD horses, but SD is easier to learn and quicker if you don't want to spend too much time entering horses each day.
