Why are mares more expensive then studs? Did I spend too much on a PEE TB stud for 25k? |

It really depends on the horses you are comparing and multiple factors come into play such as rating, training, pedigree, production, color, leaderboard or not, etc. $25k for a PEE anything isn't bad. Even if he flops you can geld him to show and make that EBs back very easily. |

I would guess that mares are more expensive than stallions because a mare can only have one foal per real-life month, rather than 20 foals for a stallion. The other reason is that there may be more demand to buy or breed with good mares. I know I tend to keep my good mares once I have them. |
