I am new to showing, and I've read the showing guides, and asked for help from members, but I still don't understand how to show! I have about 700 geldings, 200 of which are managed by the BM. Most weeks, the horses managed by her are about 40% in the green, with the good weeks going up to 80%, and then down to about 10% occasionally. Looking at all my other barns, only about 10 horses are ready to show, this has been the case for about 4 weeks now. I only enter horses that are in the green, as I don't understand what everyone is talking about when they say count back the weeks and look at the placings. Why haven't my unmanaged horses not been in the green, whereas my managed horses always seem to be?

The game does not set horses to "green" automatically! Whenever a single discipline trained S or P rated horse leveled up, it will take about 3-5 weeks until it will be able to get into the green again. Elite or WC horses may train up a bit faster. But it is up to you to re-enter them at least one time to see, if they are already trained up enough to place 8th or better. The barn manager "knows" the training status from each horse and has a set kind of a cut off, then she starts to re-enter them into shows. For the hand-entered horses it is up to you to learn, how fast the horses train up and you have to risk the show fee a couple times to see, if a horse is ready to show and place again after it leveled up.
