I enter futurities every year and every year I do pretty well. Last year was probably my worst year but I still had a handful of foals sitting 10th plus on the LB across all the disciplines ~ Like I always do on the first I assigned all my futurity foals to my best level 1 riders and then entered them into their first show. I however could not train them like I usually do with the new training on RO update, the game told me to wait until after 6 AM to train all my horses ~ This morning when I logged on I checked my accountant page to see my show profit from last night and I was shocked to see that 136 horses only made me 9k! So I went to my show report and that was when I noticed not a single futurity foal placed "in the green". I also went to my barn just to confirm that not a single foal was "in the green" ~ Now this leads me to my question, is this a bug? Or do I have shitty foals this year? Like I said I have always had decent luck in the futurities (one year winning 800k in prize money alone). So it just threw me off that I had 68 foals entered and not a single one could even place 7th. Any insights?

I can't answer your question, but I have a question of my own. Do you really make a bunch of profit from futurities? How many horses did you have entered to make 800k? Is there any tips and tricks to it, or do you just enter all your foals and hope they're decent enough to win?

I think I maybe had around 50 horses entered. But that 800k came from the prize money. I had two horses in first place so they got 50% of their respected discipline's prize winnings, and then I had a few scattered around 5th to 2nd so they also got a percentage ~ Outside of placing 5th plus on the LBs, I do find I make a bit in show profit alone. In one month I can make my entry fees back pretty easy ~ I do personally take the time to match all my SD horses to give myself the best shot at winning, it is still a gamble though. Not placing last night will set me back and now I'm in the hole from where I was yesterday so I probably won't make as much in profit by the end of the month. I also probably won't get 1st place, if I am lucky I might get a 3rd, 4th, or 5th ~ Hopefully that helps! Edited at April 2, 2024 10:41 AM by Ranch Lands Training
