They turned down a dog who had gotten into a dog fight, it's ear handing from it's head. and told the owner to go to the emergency center. Plus the doctors had went to lunch so we couldn't do anything as a vet tech but give them vet wrap cause to stitch, I think legally I need a veterinarian present, but not sure on that one

@Helix, vets around here won't do that even if you are a client. Thankfully I found a vet who was willing to help my dog when he had an emergency and I quickly switched to them as my permanent vet. That was after calling 15 other vets though, no joke.

The vets I interned for, only take emergencies if you were their client. If you weren't their client, you had to go to the emergency center which was a half an hour drive, but there was no guarantee they'd take the animals, if they are short staffed they won't take on more then they can handle

Also, stupid that I live in a big city, but no vets take emergencies. Nearest emergency vet is an hour away.

Problem is, I live in a small town. There are 2 rescues here in town, and the other rescue can't seem to keep anyone to help them(they have been in trouble NUMEROUS times for using vet techs as veterinarians). I wouldn't work for them even if it was the last job in town.

I wish more vets around here worked with shelters. I think it is almost an obligation that every vet should do.

The dog we did was from the shelter. The vet tech program works with the humane society in town and does some of the testing/surgeries that the animals need.

I figured it was better to ask then to assume. XD Hopefully the yogurt bites calm your baby down. ;)

Also, I learned something about working in the ICU this week... they restrain A LOT more patients then I thought they did. I guess it is to prevent them from pulling out breathing tubes and what not, but the amount still surprised me.

Why can't my stallion breed?
During capture day I bred him to all the mares I captured. At some point he was no longer coming up as an option.
what does it mean when a horse shows and it comes back as refusal?

Stallions get 20 breedings per game year (real life month), so maybe he's hit the limit.

Refusal means your horse refused to take a jump. It's a penalty to the score.

Thanks! That's super helpful. Is there anything I can do to prevent refusal?

just train them every week :) When they first level up, they don't have the skills to show as well as they had before(just like real life) so you just gotta train 'em up :)

Think of it as when your horse levels up it's having to adjust to higher, wider jumps with new things added, like double jumps or water hazards. Of course it's going to get freaked and balk sometimes. As it trains more in that level it will get better at it.

In reality it's a performance number compared to a success number, but it's not exactly random.
