Hello, I'm trying to decide if I should buy barns or pastures for my gelding army, and there's some info I need before I can decide. Based on the numbers I see in the store, it looks like horses in barns need 1 feeding per day, and a square bale is 4 feedings.
1. How many feedings do you get from a round bale? 2. How many feedings does a horse on barren pasture need (equal, more, or less than a stalled horse)? 3. I read that having more horses in a pasture makes it degrade quicker. Is there any amount of horses at which a pasture won't degrade at all? If not, how many horses would you recommend? (I'm looking at 50 and 100 horse pastures.) 4. Finally, what is the best way to regenerate a barren pasture? someone in an older post said that pastures regenerate after hay is harvested. Is this true, and is it the best way to regenerate pastures?
Thank you, (and sorry for the long questions...) Icefire

Estimated Weekly Round Bales Needed: 0.2 This is how many round bales I would need to feed 3 horses. Estimated Weekly Hay Bales Needed: 208.3
I have 119 horses and that breaks down to 1.75
To not have a pasture degrade you'd need no horses on it. It doesn't take long for it to restore. You can increase how quickly it will restore with water (just tested it and it took 5 waters to take it from barren to lush). On lush grass it takes 0 round bales to feed your horse. You can also buy multiple pastures and rotate your horses.
