The normal scallop braid is when the “loops” stay on the same side and hang down like this image

Setting myself a 400k budget for RO this year, lets see if I manage to stick to it lol

That is so neat. People who can do such neat braids are so talented

Basically the scallop goes up on top and it kinda lays over the crest a bit so is also a bit visible from the non-mane side, if that makes sense

Ah, my brain is that filled with disseration stuff that I was trying to figure it out lol.

I'll have to try and remember to give it a go sometime

Lemme see if I can find a good pic online.
I donÂ’t have one of my own horses pics with it done. I havenÂ’t shown a shorter length maned horse much since learning it was a thing!

Sass, no.
It means the scallop part goes on the other side of the neck than where it usually would

Reverse scallop braid? Do you mean starting at the bottom of the neck?

Doing the scallop braid as a reverse scallop is pretty cool too. I like that the braid is then seen from both sides

Yes the factor of any sort of running braid or connecting braid does make touch ups difficult

I love the connecting braids!! It adds a sweet little extra element. The not being able to redo one without redoing the entire mane is annoying, but worth it

I love braiding, just never really need to do it these days as my boss doesn't compete

Most eventer tails (traditional sorts) are pulled at the top these days, not french braided - so tails we mostly left natural if a breed shown with long mane/tail

Pasture/barn upgrade July 8, 2018 08:40 AM

Recently I was looking into buying another barn but then I started looking at pastures. Both seem like viable options to get. I need help! Which one would be better to buy?
My current goal is to increase the number of horses I have. Understandably barns hold horses so thatÂ’s the easy route but pastures can too. As well as make hay.
Any and all opinions welcomed!!

If you plan on keeping both mares and stallions in it, a barn will keep them from breeding on their own. A pasture could be used for hay in the future if you empty it, and will also feed the horses in it if there aren't too many. :)
