They probably suck though. I have mostly quest mares in the PPP-EEP range and some show gelds. You are probably right it's got something to do with the amount of breeders

Also relative to how large (100 people) the leaderboards are, I don't think there's a gigantic pool of people to be on them. I think there's most people I've even seen online is like 350. So it kinda makes sense

You do have quite a lot of AAs alive that you've bred, I suppose those stats add up

I'm on the KNN and AA leaderboards somehow. No clue how that's supposed to make sense

Yeah I think its the colour/gelds/random keepers that drag LB placings down as it's done on the average. If you only breed a few high quality foals a year you'd probably do better than someone breeding 10 WWWs but also 600 PPPs they keep back

Fodder foals get deleted during the following RO. So they stick around for a montg

But fodder foals get released/deleted quite promptly don't they? Whereas geldings stick around for like.. a year

Hello! I just started yesterday and have a bunch of questions to ask about the game.
1) Any advice on choosing breeds or disciplines? I went with Warmbloods and Quarter Horses because I liked their art the best, and then randomly chose X-country and bought 5 horses who were at least premium and all the same level (I’m thinking this means I only need to pay one rider for a while).
2) If I want to focus on X-country horses is it important for them to be somewhat well rounded or should I focus only on Heart, Strength, and Speed even if the other traits are at 1?
3) What is the benefit of geldings, do they train faster?
4) Can you select multiple breeds in the horse search?
5) Does it matter if you nudge, spur, or kick when exploring? Do different horses have preferences, or is it based on the situation?
6) What is the X% after a horse’s bravery? How do you improve that?
7) How do I put a space between paragraphs in my post?

I love all the questions 😂
~
1.) For breed, I think you made a pretty decent choice, although for now I would focus on one, sometimes as a newer player it can be harder to get going.
Typically people do AD which means all Disciplines, AD horses are rated well in all 3 so like EEE, EEW, EWW, WWW are typically what's kept.
As for SD breeders, they typically keep the W rated ones but E rated ones are exceptions if strong enough.
The way the strength things work per discipline:
D - int, Mv, Str
XC - Hrt, str, spd
J - Hrt, scp, spd
So depending what discipline the horse is training those are the bars that will go up, although when training AD all of them will go up
I feel like I'm talking in circles so I can clarify anything if I've confused you lol
-
2.) as I mentioned in the top but horses trained in XC will be going up in the 3 disciplines, so they don't need to be well rounded like that, unless it's AD lol
-
3.) Yep! Geldings train faster, it's actually highly recommended you buy a barn, fill it with geldings (usually PPP+ do the best) to show and earn ebs as that's actually supposed to be one of the main ways of earning ebs in this game
-
4.) You can! That feature was added recently too lol
-
5.) I'm not sure with the bravery one but I think the horses have preferences, and most of my little bunch prefers Nudge
-
6.) that's how much the horse has been trained to not be spooky once trained to 100% they are less likely to spook.
-
7.) I'm not sure, although I use the little Dash characters which you can see in between my paragraphs here

This stallion is SD trained in XC, so he is higher in those 3 bars then anything else.

Oh and something I'm not sure you know about or not, it I see new players get confused by this all the time, when it comes to breeding your horses, no matter SD or AD, you must match them.

That stallion that I linked training tracking isn't super helpful but if you look at the training itself he is Spd strong, so I throw him with mares weak in it for the best chance at a good foal.

First I want to say welcome to the game! Secondly Blue did a great job answering your questions!

First I will start by telling you how to get spaces - On the top bar you can see where it gives you the option to bold, undo and what not there is a big block that says "Div". Click on that box and select "blocks", then select "Paragraph". This will automatically give you spaces!

Secondly, I breed SD PONs, my main focus is XC horses. So if you ever want help please feel free to reach out. I'm at the point in my barn I can start to sell and brood out some of my stock. Myth (you will see her in chat usually as Shamrock Equines or Mythological) also breeds SD XC horses so I'm sure if you reach out to her she would be more than willing to help. She has always been an excellent help to me :)
