If this isn't where I should be posting this I am sorry in advance!!

I am trying to try out a freshie stallion / complete a quest and in doing a horse search I found several mares that were up for breeding.. Do I need to reach out to the owner before I hit breed or just hit breed?

I appreciate any and all help I receive on this subject!
