Im a bit late to the conversation, but I've been through that this past year and its one of the hardest things I've had to do but also one of the most rewarding for my own mental. Setting boundaries with your own family members is so difficult.

Yikes yeah I've been through that, even gotten physical a few times over dishes. I've worked since I was 15 while in school and often had to come home to cook for two grown adults.

She's only 50/60 somethin'. I'm just so fucking tired of this shit. I do one little slip up, it's the end of the world. She takes my cousins out, and they don't get back till 11, 12 at night. Never asks me or my brother if we wanna go. My grandfather, the one who died, was in a dementia nursing home, and it was almost 3k a single day.

@Green, that is why I love being an adult. So many people say they miss childhood, but you could not pay me to go back and experience having no control over how people treat me or who I interact with.

Yeah. I mean, I'm grateful she's letting us live in her house, and I don't mind the chores. There's 4 adults here, and five kids. She don't make my cousins do most of the chores, it's always me and my brother. -_-

Nope, can't correct her. It'd start a full on argument, and I'd be called an asshole, or other things. I've tried in the past. That day, she told everyone I called her a bitch, when my mom, who heard everything, had to call my dad. I did not call her a bitch.

The double edge sword about becoming a total independent adult is watching how family learns that they have no authority to hang over me anymore and I can just up and leave conversations. People are learning the hard way that I've dropped my people pleasing act.

PPP training? May 2, 2024 03:33 PM

Weird request, I know. I have a specific breeding project in mind that will require breeding up from PPP horses. SO, I'm curious if any of the established players remember what the training guidelines were back when PPP was the top rating?
For example, as I understand, really good training for WWWs is all up week 4. Really good training for EEEs is no bars down week 5. What's really good training for PPPs?
I hope this makes sense, thanks in advance!<3

I wasn't around before EEE, but I've had a breed up project of my own for several years, so I think I have a handle on the training for PPPs (and EPP combos which train basically the same). Any that are worth keeping should have a wk 4 and 5 that's about like a weak EEE. Anything up wk 4 is great (though nothing up is fine) as long as they're at least 5/6 wk 5.

After that, the length of a training cycle is the best measure of strength. EEE-WWW more or less have a 4 week training cycle, where wk 8 and 12 are the same as wk 4, wk 9 and 13 are the same as wk 5, etc. Weaker PPPs have a 5-6 wk training cycle, where they won't repeat their wk 4 until wk 9 or 10. The closer they get to that 4 week cycle, the stronger they are. For this reason I usually track out to wk 20, so I can get a better picture of their cycle.

Right now my keepers have to be 5/6+ wk 5, all up by wk 6, 3/6+ wk 9, all up by wk 10 (will allow 5/6 if they've produced well), 4/6+ wk 14, no 3s at wk 16, and no 4s at wk 20 (will allow 1 with good production). The wk 9 and 14 requirements are kind of subjective based on where my herd is now, but the other ones have been longstanding.

This is probably the strongest PPP-EPP combo I have in my barns, since she's the only one that's gotten to all 5s by wk 18, but I have plenty that have fairly comparable training from wk 8 to wk 16.

This is an example of a weaker PPP. She drops several bars wk 9 and is still down 1 wk 10. Her wk 13 is the same as wk 9, but then she drops several bars wk 14 and 15. She loses another bar wk 17 and her wk 18 is only the same as wk 9 and 13.

Thank you so much!
Can you explain what weeks they would be showing strengths? Like our w7 and occasionally w3 is strong for WWW.

It can be really variable depending on the horse. Some of the ones with none up wk 4, all up wk 5 will just continue popping to all up every 4-5 weeks without showing strengths until wk 17 or 18. I'm most concerned about my horses not being super weak in anything, because that's what makes it hard to breed up, so I keep them as long as they gain the next round of bars every 4-5 weeks. PPP-EPP combos can have a wk 7, 11, 15, etc, but that usually offsets a bad weakness, so ironically those horses are more likely to go.
