Don't just show geldings, show everything. A lot of nonsense is talked about geldings being the best for showing but the current top 5 on the winnings LB are mares and stallions

It's not nonsense. Geldings get a training boost. While yes, any horse can be shown, geldings remove the potential and desire to breed since they've been sterilized. Talk to any stable who has a sizable yearly income from showing and I can promise that most, if not all, will have a decent sized herd of show geldings.

Mares can get a similar training boost if you cycle suppress them and you can potentially use them to do breeding quests as well.

I show everything, mares, stallions and geldings and I am currently 3rd on the winning LB

On which leaderboard? Yearly winnings belongs to lizzie. On that board, you're 60 something. In any case, geldings are more affordable for a new stable who might not have the money to spend on good breeding stock to show. Yes, everything can be shown, but geldings should be the backbone.

Building your show army is the best way to get money. I have 1100 geldings, so I make 400-600k a week in profit. Just buy geldings whenever you can afford them, and whenever you make money, put it back into growing your show stock.
