I thought so, now I wanna see all three DDs with Ch. I wonder if DD with ChCh makes any mottling or visual differences

But yes, I think you're right that it flies under the radar a lot. I was fascinated to learn, for example, that most of the American Cream Draft Horses are now understood to be mostly champagnes and not cream dilutes.

I know the general "Horse Coat Color Panel" thru UCDavis tests for it along with the other dilutes.

I feel Ch falls under the radar a lot unless you've already dealt with it or are knowledgeable about it. Do majority of gene testing automatically test for Ch when testing other dilutes?
New Road Stables
02:25:05
Right! So I was incorrect; it is how it works in real life. (At least with cremellos - how neat that no one's bred the other DD Ch variants in the real world yet.)
Mayhem
02:23:08 Pan's KNN Mess
Ooh that's interesting! I guess because they already have such light skin, you wouldn't be able to see any mottling

Lol yes, something new to learn every day :)

Oh, that's very helpful. Thanks for sharing. Makes sense to me too now that I just looked up double cream dilutes on the International Champagne Horse Registry (ICHR). They know of only two DD champagnes, both cremellos, and both horses are visually indistinguishable from cremello.

Ugh colour breeding stresses me out but genetics is so fascinating
Mayhem

Oooh I found this note though:
Single dilute horses will show pearl genes if there is one present; Double Dilutes will hide pearl (and also Champagne) because their coat is already maximally diluted so the other dilution factor will not have an effect. They will not show up as having silver in their name either, but I believe smokey cremes, perlinos and brown cremes with silver have white tails in the game.
New Road Stables
02:14:50
Yeah, nice find! I do wonder now about all the perlinos and such I've free ranged in the past :o
Mayhem
02:13:24 Pan's KNN Mess
This is the first double dilute with Ch I've come across so far so it threw me off about all my other possible Ch DD that I've missed. The game guide doesn't specify Ch on DD
New Road Stables
02:08:52
Mayhem, that is very odd! It certainly doesn't in real life. I breed only champagnes and just looked through all my gene tested cream-champagne combos and cannot find any double creams, so I think you may be correct that that is how it works in-game.

Thank you Aussie!
I do agree that I went a little too rough on my smudging :/ but once I did it, I was kicked out of my program and I had no way of undoing it lol. I also was thinking of softening the shadow but I dont know what Gaussian blurring is... I use Autodesk Sketchbook and GIMP, is that available on either of those??
Before I don anything to the main layer of the horse I always duplicate it and hide it so I can always go back to the original. It’s super handy when programs glitch and dont let you undo things.
Gaussian blur is an adjustable filter that pretty much blurs everything on the selected layer. I don’t use either of those programs however I’m sure they would have it. It can normally be found under a filters tab. If you can’t seem to find it I’m sure some quick googling will help :)

I really like it! The horse blends in well, the only problem I see is the horse looks a bit cartoon compared to the rider.

Good job Raven!

Just a reminder, though, that we are not allowed to have human faces in our art on HEE. This includes riders and imaginary people.

I love this altogether,it's a very nice set,the thing I notice most is the eye (mainly on the avi) it is a bad idea to use a dot as I highlight
Create a clipping layer and use an air brush, because of the surrounding light, use a light grey ish blue (nearly white but with some colour) and airbrush the highlight from where ever the light source is

Thank you for the suggestion <3 I was kinda going for bioluminescent like a jellyfish in this one, but this is really useful for some of my other pieces :D

I'll just stick a pair of wings on the horse to cover the face XD
