After months of small work sessions and definitely at least 24 hours total spent, I’ve finally produced this: Palamedes visiting two of his ancestors in Elysium — for Fairwind Full size (super large) I’ve depicted Elysium as a valley with rivers watering the blooms of perpetual spring. It’s sort of a nod to the underworld (hence the valley) but of course a much nicer place to reside for all eternity! The flowers adorning the mares are asphodel (since I’m not sure what other flower is best associated with death / lands of the dead) I had such fun painting in all the rivers and painting extensions to the waterfalls and flowers! I admit I painted the cloth only to avoid adding another stock credit to an alarmingly long list lol I do have screen recordings for the first few hours that I will soon upload! Stock credits if you’re curious: Horses: (I think Palamedes was made up of 3 stock images, one of which is shared with one of the mares) BG:

Finished commission for White Nile Super huge full size (click for tons of details): https://i1.lensdump.com/i/IZNbZ2.png Huge effort, many hours :) I present this unicorn chilling in a rainbow lake in a cave. Some fun facts: I wanted to give the unicorn's coat a slight rock-like texture and have the hair look quite watery. This piece was an absolute joy as I love colors, especially pulling multiple colors from one surface Album of WIPs: https://lensdump.com/a/jfp6K Stock used: Horse: https://www.deviantart.com/newfie-stock/art/Horse-Stock-788905504 https://www.deviantart.com/newfie-stock/art/Horse-Stock-768351680 https://www.deviantart.com/ladyayslinn/art/Black-Pearl-258865244 https://www.deviantart.com/ladyayslinn/art/Grey-Mare-206211979 Texture - https://unsplash.com/photos/cqnXyamtGE4 BG: Water - https://www.deviantart.com/rockstocks/art/RockStocks-7168-377658795 Water - https://www.deviantart.com/rockstocks/art/RockStocks-6023-375666720 Rock walls - https://www.deviantart.com/rockstocks/art/RockStocks-3252-369071921 https://www.deviantart.com/malleni-stock/art/Malaysia-Stock-086-693553633 https://www.deviantart.com/malleni-stock/art/Malaysia-Stock-132-695313910 https://www.deviantart.com/malleni-stock/art/Malaysia-Stock-008-689040117 Vegetation - https://www.deviantart.com/malleni-stock/art/Mossy-forest-Stock-01-702724871 Architecture: https://www.deviantart.com/rockstocks/art/RockStocks300S06953-497734653 https://www.deviantart.com/castock/art/Cambodia-2-396298738 https://www.deviantart.com/castock/art/Petra3-369113773

Finished piece: Fortuna 37+ hours :D And it's finally done! Meet Fortuna, goddess of fortune and that no-good RF that strikes us on rollover :D Here she is with her wheel of fortune (well, a different wheel) and her cornucopia (aka horn of plenty), puttering across the land on a fancy chaise longue fashioned somewhat after ancient Roman chairs (I think), raining down wealth and a bountiful harvest, but not for everyone! See if you can spot the cherries :) There was a ton of repainting done. For instance, I gave up on wrestling with the forelegs stock and painted part of it myself, hence the wonky anatomy. And painted the clouds, parts of the chair, some of the background, etc. Brief process gif (detailed version will be posted later):

(^Recent work has been pinned) My DeviantArt gallery: https://www.deviantart.com/mostlyhorsemanips This forum post contains all my art on HEE, as well as process gifs and WIPs! Critiques welcome & appreciated~! (Note: Some images will be clickable for the full-size) A little about my process: I love working backgrounds from multiple sources; gives it that ethereal, out-of-this-world quality (I guess!) Thank you so much! I use Krita for making manips and painting, Sketch (the Mac-only UI design program, that is) for applying text, plus an ancient Wacom bamboo tablet (which is just barely supported on my laptop to be honest).

Ohhh, I never thought of Krita for manips. I have it and use it to sketch here and there. I'll definitely have to try and work on there! I've never played around with image size on there because I sketch and then save it to my computer, so does it actually have an image optimizing option??

Hm, I'm not too sure. It has some options for adjusting compression/quality when exporting as a bitmap image, if that's what you mean!

You are honestly amazing. Absolutely LOVE how you repaint your horses, and your hair is completely to die for. <3 I wish I had just half of your talent, lol.
