Hey y'all! If you know me, you know I have a beautiful French Bulldog that turned 1 year old on May 1st. My family has been discussing getting another puppy, an English Bulldog, and we plan on getting her relatively soon. We found a litter that is local of bulldog puppies from a different breeder than Magpie (my frenchie) and we have totally fallen in love with this pup. Unfortunatley, we are not entirely sure if we are going to get her since we are taking a trip to Tennessee from Washington state sometime at the end of June - beginning of July. It has become super difficult to find English Bulldog breeders because everyone is looking to the frenchie. Magpie's breeder was both an english and french bulldog breeder but their neighbors had them shut down after the breeders sold land to them and the neighbors complained that even though the breeders have a massive farm, the breeder should not be allowed to have all of their animals. They are moving to another location as they own land off the island where they raise their quails and vegetables (they keep their sheep on their other property) and will be building a kennel over there. So they had to stop all commercial activity until they transfer the dogs to the new facility and this battle has been going on for about a year and a half now. Yes, i have seen their facility, no they are not a puppy mill or back yard breeder in any way, shape or form. Their dogs have plenty of room to run, they have several working dogs - their german shepherds - which help protect their livestock from fox and coyotes. Their french and english bulldogs are shown. My family was considering going through them again but we decided not to since we were not the biggest fan of their english bulldogs. Anyways, I will be posting updates on this forum and if you know of any english bulldog breeders in the Washington state, Tennessee or Vancouver, Canada area, please let me know! In the meantime, here is a photo of Magpie that I took today (please ignore the weird drawn in corner of the siding above maggie's behind. The siding is super old and we living in military housing with the inability to fix it as per the housing place's rules so there are chips in it and i attempted to draw over it with my phone)

Have you contacted the parent club for English Bulldogs? They should be able to refer you to a breeder. Maggie is a very pretty dog. I love the fawn Frenchies. Kathy |

No, we have not yet contacted them. We are waiting for my father to get home(he has been gone for several months) so we can discuss it. We have been talking about it though and think it may be best if we ask the housing people for an upgrade. As my mother has described our current living situation, "it is like living in a cave" and its rather small. We recieved a lot of promises and the housing people did not even make one of them. We are concerned for the summer since we do not have an AC or cieling fans as they said we would have. Although we live up north (around the canadian boarder) it still gets warm in the summer and Maggie struggles to handle the heat to we have a ton of fans that we bought out of pocket. We also recognized that our neighbors german shepherd has become unreasonably agressive towards our dog and the neighbors are miserable to live next to so we are going to maybe ask to move first so the dogs will be more comfortable in a larger house with a larger backyard that has fans ect and we wont worry about our neighbors dogs attacking ours. We all really want a puppy though and have been thinking about it for a while. we just want to make sure everything is right before we bring home another pup. Thank you! Maggie is actually a red fawn and has become super red (you cant tell in the photo though). She has one white paw and a white spot on the back of her neck as well which is so cute! |

we cant make any changes to the house due to the housing people. They do not allow it. I live in military housing up north and they argue that we don't need AC because it stays cool year round. We don't have cieling fans because these condo/apartment type houses that they put us in have very low cielings (and a ton of problems might I add) but we don't plan on staying here forever so my family isn't purchasing a home. However, the housing people have said that the house they gave us is not for my dad's rank. we are supposed to be in one of their larger, nicer homes with cieling fans and an AC unit. Especially considering our family size and the ages of us all. But there wasn't any open at the time so they threw us into this home. We do have fans that we invested in though that we put throughout the house when it gets warmer. Other than that, we are not allowed (according to the housing rules) to put in any kind of AC unit or make any installations of fans in the house with the exception of those stand up/plug in fans. We literally can't even drill a hole in the wall. They have to come and do that. We are also not supposed to change our filters in any vents or anything and we arent supposed to change the lightbulbs. I do not and will never recommend these housing people. There are other housing companies the military go through that are 10 times better. And that is something we have no control over. They just put us where they want us to be. |
