Hello I have a question, my niece is 11 years old about to be 12 and wants an Australian shepherd so bad and her mom doesn't really take care of her so I have to but would it be a good idea to get an Australian shepherd for a 12ish year old girl?

Depends on how responsible she is. Is she ready to feed and walk the dog everyday and train them? And who will take care of the dog when shes at school (unless shes homeschooled) Does her mom have the money to buy the food and pay for vaccines and vet care for the dog? Theres a lot that goes into getting a dog :) But if the kid is ready to walk and train and spend time with the dog everyday, and the mom has the money to support it, then yeah I think it would be good.

She is quite responsible especially when she takes care of her horses and they have quite a big yard so a dog would probably be nice

Hill As long as mom is ok with it and she like to run go for it. I would encourage her to do agility with the aussie :-)
